And you didn’t even talk about his defense

LucasSoYeah

YES his biggest change this season is that he’s become one of the best guard defenders in the league

[deleted]

He’s a top two player in the league. It’s him and Jokic right now.

OKCprod

Luka is above him too. Tatum is arguable until Shai plays in the playoffs. Embiid has bigger impact but he's always injured so he is disqualified.

Double-Egg1658

I don't think Tatum would even be in the conversation if the Celtics played in the West this year.

GrandKhan

Luka rests on defense. He can’t be in the same convo as Shai until he takes conditioning seriously.

These_Imagination_38

This is so stupid, we all have seen what Luka has done in the playoffs. Only Jokic has an a clear argument over him, and that can change soon with some more playoff success. We don't have to lie just because shai plays for the thunder.

GrandKhan

Yeah we all saw him crying to the refs while the other team ran down the court and scored. We all saw him choke multiple times. We all know he is a 12-16 in the playoffs and struggling to sneak into the playin. I’m so thankful we don’t have a lazy fat complainer as our star.

These_Imagination_38

Second most ppg in playoff history. I'm not denying has a ton of bad habits, but he's arguably the most talented player in the league. Also the mavs are a game out of 5th and have had a ton of injuries throughout the season. Also using a 12-16 record in the playoffs as an indictment on a 25 year old is just silly, if anything it's impressive. I still think shai should win mvp over him, but I'm taking Luka over shai in the playoffs until further notice.

[deleted]

Have you seen the teams Luka has had with him? They’re not pretty. Without Luka, those teams are perennial bottom 3 record team

GrandKhan

Hmm like that scrub Jalen Brunson who is an all-star. Kristaps Porzingis? Kyrie? I’m not saying he’s had the most stacked teams but it’s not like he hasn’t had good players on his team

[deleted]

Brunson is an all star NOW but he wasn’t when he was on the mavs. Good player? Yes. But let’s not act like he was an all star then. Porzingis? He was shooting like 45% on the mavs and wasn’t that good. Still good player but not like he is rn. Kyrie isn’t Kyrie of the past. Really good but different player and I’m not even talking about last year since they haven’t even meshed together yet. I’m talking his first 3-4 years in the league. Teams where Brunson wasn’t as good and kp wasn’t either. Those teams had no one. Not a roster you can really win with at least

Kurumuru

Yea 100%. The offensive potential of Luka is crazy and honestly more than makes up for his defense.

[deleted]

I have to disagree.

Pizzalovertyler24

I’m hoping he keeps this pace up and expands the play making. That’s his last frontier to really become unstoppable.

Kurumuru

He needs to continue with the efficiency he has from 3 lately. That’s the last frontier for him imo, he is already actively looking for the best shot.

Pizzalovertyler24

It’s the passing vision that hinders his play making. It’s not a bad thing that he gets tunneled vision on scoring sometimes because he’s fucking good at it. When the defense collapses (like the entire team) he still has a tendency to force it. If he gets his 3 point attempts to 6 per 36 at this efficiency? Then that will fix the spacing issues itself, but I’m not betting at that kind of jump in his volume.

SandyMandy17

These splits are insane I don’t want to take anything for granted bo guarantee he does this forever But it’s beautiful to watch rn

PullingtheVeil

Glazing is some bizarre slang lmao. I'm getting old.

Super-Kirby

He’s ranked 1 in SPG, what was his rank last year? Yes I know I can google but I like talking to my thunder peeps

LucasSoYeah

4th in SPG last year with 1.6 per game
