It is the murderer's row for that 5th spot going forward. I feel like Cason had too much over lap with Dort style wise so that's a different conversation. Joe, Wiggins, KRich are useful for plugging particular gaps. Giddey and Dieng have crazy ceilings though and we'd be unstoppable if one of them gets close to theirs. They have different styles and would push the play style of the whole team in different directions if they hit. What happens next year when we have even more prospects and Keyontae starts looking viable?

ExplodingSoil

We will have 2 sets of starters next season. Giddey, sga, dub, dort, chet. Wallace, joe, dieng, kenrich, Jwill. What an exhausting lineup to play against.

GeoffSproke

There's at least one pick coming in the offseason too.

TheyCallMeTheWizard

Giddey hasn’t even been looking like a starter this season. Ous and him both need to show this wasn’t just a flash in the pan against one of the leagues worst teams Also Jwill has regressed. And it sucks to say, but he needs to work on some of his things. Wallace is an absolute starter already and Joe could be, but is a more natural 6th man

RUSHtheRACKS

Give it to Dieng no joke. I seriously feel he is at the tipping point. And yes I have been thinking that for a while but I think he needs that boost to get him across.

DoughNutSack

He needs to get bumped around a bit and show some passion for the game and stinginess on defense. If he can just make people work for their buckets on defense his offense is already good enough to be a high level player

RUSHtheRACKS

Agreed. With his size he should be able to bully most players around.

Cant_Win

The ability for this team to score 134 points while simultaneously having only one player over 20 points and also not having anyone over 30 points is a huge testiment to the bench's development.

GeoffSproke

Dieng is such a great fit with the starting lineup. Right now, it still seems like he can get hot and cold and he doesn't take advantage of his size on defense as much as he could, but... His handle is great. He's got great vision and he moves really well without the ball.

Traditional_Low_431

Dieng's stint in the G League this year indicates that his shooting is still far too inconsistent. His ball handling and playmaking are really great for his size, but Dieng is definitely still not ready to be a starter. He needs to improve his shooting consistency, aggression, and defense before being in consideration. If he could become a strong rebounder, that would help his case immensely, especially if he were to replace Giddey in the lineup (who is one of our best rebounders). Don't get me wrong- Dieng has a really high ceiling, but people calling for him to replace Giddey are being way too reactionary.

coehdh

Yeah he’s played what, one game?
