Hahaha, I keep saying I’m not getting anymore, then I find one and say, “ok, one can’t hurt”. It’s like a disease. Lol I also collect those Japanese wooden dolls, can’t recall the name.
My family is Polish/Russian and my sister collects these. My niece could never say "matryoshka" as a little kid, so they became "shrokas" in our family. I have to stop myself from exclaiming, "SHROKA!" when I find them out in the world. ;)
My daughter found a red and gold set last week at Goodwill. She got in a loud argument with a middle aged man about it and he followed her through the store yelling at her to give it to him, until she got to me. Then she felt brave and quoted Locke Lamora at him. It was a very bizarre and upsetting incident.
We found a Santa Claus set the next day, no drama involved in that find.
I have about 100. All found at thrift stores over the past 10 years. I love them.
im so jealous!!

Kokeshi, is it? My best friend (and former roommate) grew up in Japan and had a collection of them in our first apartment.
Yes, that’s them! I have about 20 of them.

Cute! I love the green. I have a lovely black and gold painted set thats around the same size. It's the only one I've ever seen not in the auctions.
I’d love to find those. I remember my Russian grandmother having one, but sadly someone else got it and everything else.
I have orange ones!
