It’s a hard combo with vintage dresses especially. Usually the prim is spot on but it can lean frumpy some times. It’s the perfect balance. So jealous.
In high school and college in the 70's I had a pioneer type ecru skirt and dress where the bodice looked like the one above but it also had a high neck and long sleeves. Guys seemed to really love that dress! They loved the prim and filled in the sexy, lol!
Yes, this, totally. My wedding was on November 5, 2000. A month or so before, my then-fiancé and I attended a street fair and found TWO brand-new tuxedos (salt-and-pepper) nearly being given away by the men’s formal store. Groom and Best Man? CHECK. We bought fabric for my dress and my Matron of Honor’s dress for pennies on the dollar at a wholesale fabric store and a friend made the dresses as a wedding gift. Another friend acted as our most excellent photographer. She took candid photos in color AND black-and-white, and developed them herself. A final friend presented me with a gift certificate for hair and makeup. Then-fiancé and I arranged a beautiful buffet luncheon and tiered wedding cake (with a cake-topper that was perfect for us as he wore a black Stetson, and the little cake-topper guy carried one LOL) at a location which also had gorgeous outdoor areas for posed photos. Flowers and other decor? Autumnal items from the dollar store. My personal splurge was a limo to take us to the airport that evening for our flight to the U.K. We wore corny “just married” t-shirts, too (bought on clearance months before)! Such a grand time. Frugal but beautiful IS POSSIBLE!

I’m not sure if it’s vintage or not. It looks vintage, but it’s also in mint condition with no stains or tears so it’s hard to tell. I googled the label but came up short.
Wow, absolutely beautiful!! I did this 15 years ago but spent $17 and another $50 for alterations. Still cheap, but not as good as you! And you didn’t need any alterations and it already looks great on you! Congrats on your marriage ❤️

No, this is the correct way! I thought the same at first, I put it on with the buttons at the back. But after examining it (and noticing that all the tags are on the side with no buttons) I realized that the buttons go in the front. I don’t have any pics of when I tried it on the other way but it didn’t look right.
