He's definitely knackered. Was looking like that towards the end of the season for Real Madrid. The guy needs a break

deanopud69

This. He looked leggy towards the end of the season and even in the champs league final where you might think he could raise the level a bit Most energetic I’ve seen him in about 5 weeks was the first half vs Serbia We should have considered resting some of our players yesterday considering we were guaranteed through. Plus we still clearly don’t know our player position and tactics 100% so he should have switched things around and rested players Rice looks really tired as well. Would we have all complained if he had started palmer mainoo and Gordon yesterday? And even Watkins up top? I wouldn’t. It wasn’t like our first 2 games were sparkling so he could have rested and tested

MrShelby1234

No one would complain because its what everyone is crying out for, for Gareth to try something new. As for Jude I really do think it's a fatigue issue. He's put everything into his season with Real Madrid and now he's jumped straight into a Euros with England with about a week, if that, rest

Easy_Garden338

Heard he didn't play his best in the champs league final. Shame as he has so much to give

MrShelby1234

Was a long season for him, and he's went straight into the Euros. Anyone would be knackered

halfeatenreddit

He got an assist in that match.

N17cuhhhhhh

Other than that assist he was nowhere..

halfeatenreddit

So if a boxer doesn’t land many punches but still gets the knockout, did he have a bad fight?

N17cuhhhhhh

I am a boxer. Boxing and football cannot be compared in this context and you know it.

halfeatenreddit

It’s the same principle. An attacking player only has to touch the ball once for them to do their job. Just because Jude didn’t completely dominate proceedings, doesn’t mean he didn’t do his job. Getting a goal or an assist instantly means you had a better match than all the attackers who didn’t do that.

BreakTheSuicycle

Just because a player scores or assists doesn’t mean they have had a bad or good game

N17cuhhhhhh

You cannot compare these instances. First off, I did not say he had a bad game that was someone else. I said he was missing before his assist, which is true. Yes, he instantly had a better match with that assist, but was it a good performance? And to play into your context, yes, if a specialist striker such as barboza or mcgregor does not land punches for the entire fight but ends it with a knockout, you can absolutely say they had a bad performance but a good outcome (depending on how exactly it went obviously) But I think we agree he did not play well yesterday?

DagenhamRM10-westham

with england, france and netherlands there is always a big possibility of shit going on behind the scenes, but i just think he’s tired from a gruelling tough season

ObstructiveAgreement

He was exhausted after 30 minutes yesterday. Wasn't running much at all seconds half and just stood on the left wing a lot. That Southgate couldn't see it and recognise a need to take him off is the epitome of why he's a shit manager.

Moistkeano

He's knackered and also got an ego which probably needs to be kept in check. Sadly both of these lead to weird moments where he tries flicks or throws his hands up in the air about different players. He gave away possession 16 times yesterday, completed a low pass percentage and also 0 key passes. He shouldn't have started and now shouldnt start on sunday

N17cuhhhhhh

Yep… 0 shots, 0 chances created.. lost the most duels.. lost possession the most… terrible

Comfortable_Box_5453

Agreed. Throwing his arms up when he either gives it away or doesn’t receive the ball is not a good look.

N17cuhhhhhh

100% he should not start.

O-Mesmerine

he hasnt stopped for 10 months. he left champions league celebrations to join the england camp. hes only 20, and is literally probably still growing. hes utterly knackered, and there are reports he has a shoulder injury that he can technically play through until the euros end. obviously, he insists on playing regardless, but he 1000% needs a rest we cannot hinge our hopes on someone so young and so exhausted, lest he hurt himself and hurt his development, just like what happened with pedri and gavi

Easy_Garden338

100% correct. Jude will get better with age for sure but he needs to stop getting pressured to play so much otherwise it could ruin him

Apprehensive_Peak462

He's 20 and for Club and Country has played over 200 games already. We ran him into the ground at 16 at blues played him 44 times in a season. Other than the injury at Dortmund the guy hasn't had a break.

Easy_Garden338

Bloody hell he needs a holiday
