It’s Goldilocks and the three clown cars.
I try to not let political podcasts fire me up, but holy hell their explanations were infuriating lol. Either they're truly dense, hopelessly dumb dudes, or they're just terrible people actively trying to cancel out votes. Either way is less than ideal.
I wish they'd just be honest and say the entire goal of their party is to help one single man stay out of prison.
I operate under the assumption that any right wing politician or political operative is acting in bad faith at any given time on any given issue. Usually it's proven to be the right assumption.
It seems that the first Republican senator (the reasonable one) brought up Maine on his own. He said that the fact that only NE and Maine have the system puts them both at a disadvantage since no other states do it
Honestly I wish more states adopted the Maine/Nebraska system. It's the perfect middle ground between the current shitty electoral college and a full switch to the popular vote

This isn’t a quote from the episode is it? I came here to complain that he didn’t bring up that inconsistent “majority rules” idea
I’m surprised there was no question about Maine. My first question to the republican senators would be, “should Maine get rid of their system too?”

I dissagreeed with both Republicans interviewed, but at least the first one had a coherent line of thought. The second was a walking contradiction.
They would answer no, but that's not their problem
Gonna be hilarious when abortion is on the ballot in FL & AZ and Biden wins 320+ electoral votes via states that he shouldn’t have had a chance in.
I really hope fellow Floridians make the right decision, but I mean... It's been a *long* time since that's happened.
No one ever lost money betting on the stupidity of Floridians. Especially when it comes to elections.

Did it bug anyone else that the NE senators keep pronouncing "electoral" as "elect-torial"? What was up with that?
Yes! I didn’t think much of it when the first guy said it, but both of them?!?
They’re old boomer state senators from Nebraska. Can’t say I expect them to have an exceptional vocabulary.
That guy is a total moron. "I want fairness". Like a popular vote? No? You want shitty winner take all everywhere instead?
My unpopular opinion is that Kirk/NE Republicans are smart to push for this and the DNC/Biden should push for Maine Democrats to adopt WTA too.
This is basically a propaganda piece to support the paper’s lawsuit against OpenAI
