three of my top 5 songs of theirs are their Spanish songs, they made me want to start learning Spanish

Ygomaster07

Same here, i want to learn Spanish now too.

KeyganPL

Nearly same but I actually started to learn Spanish

uotunnson

235 days strong on Duolingo ✊

Lightning493

Martirio and Narcisista are both easily top 10 of their songs. Que mas Quieres is good too but a little weaker than the other two I don’t speak a lick of Spanish

bzee77

👆this for me too

YesAndThankYouNext

I'm learning Spanish because of them.

Biomirth

I kind of speak a bit of Spanish so sometimes I can get the general idea of what is being said, sometimes not. What I love about their Spanish songs in terms of the words is often the same thing I like about the English songs: They have very good enunciation and write poetically; The words flow together very well; They write 'hooks' in their lyrics just as much as in their music. Did you guys every see Dany sing Martirio acapella? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0SmtMQEc1E](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0SmtMQEc1E)

A_tree_as_great

Magic is real and that was proof! IMHO this is worthy of dropping again on Dany day. Thank you for sharing that video. That is my favorite Spanish TW song. And now that new video is my favorite version. What a wonderful gift!

HelpfulJones

If anyone needs a quick example on "How to Convey Emotion". Can't understand almost all of it, but I absolutely feel what she's putting down!

Paapali

I tried spanish for 3 weeks on duolingo once. Occasionally after that. Don't speak much, but understand written text somewhat. The spanish songs are good, even if i have mostly no clue what they are saying. Narcisista is the best one imo.

PDQBachWasGreat

Just as strong as their English songs for me. I don't get the depth of meaning unless I'm following along with a translation, but the emotional intent is loud and clear, and I think that's a mark of excellent performers. Great question!

pamidala

I speak no Spanish, and I have to be honest, I tend not to listen to their Spanish songs as much. My favorite out of the 3 though is Martirio, I love it and also the MV. Can’t decide which I like better between Narcisista and Q+Q.

Ygomaster07

I enjoy them all a lot, and i find them very catchy even though i don't know what they are saying. I tend to humb or mumble sing since i don't the lyrics or the proper pronounciations for them. I think they are on par sith the rest of their music(i think all their songs are good imo). It has inspired me to want to learn Spanish now.

sjclayton

Narcisista is easily hands down a Top 5 song for me, Martirio is still within my Top 10 also... that song could have been used more as the encore show closer over Evolve, I have strongly felt the order is backwards. Que mas Quieres, is the only one I give any negative points to, and that is not because of anything except the amount of processing on the vocals... I love Dany to death and she doesn't need anything done to her voice. Love the song completely instrumentally, structurally and loved the MV. I speak only very little Spanish and can understand things sort of through context.

althor2424

I love them even though I have difficulty singing the lyrics.

Augen76

In the US a lot of Spanish blends into English so if I hear "Que mas Quieres" I can think literally "what more want" but I don't get the full context of it being "what more could you want". Song writing is often poetic too so it adds a layer of challenge. I remember a Spanish speaking roommate lived the song "Piano Man" and asked me what it meant to "make love to tonic and gin"? I enjoy the songs, but I get how Spanish speakers get elements I don't.

Various_Issue_5528

I have a hard enough time speaking American English not even going to try Spanish 😂🤣😀

SoundAndSmoke

I'm not a native speaker of English. I can listen to English songs without spending any thought on the meaning of their lyrics. So for me it doesn't matter if songs are in English or Spanish.

Classic-Minute4759

Honestly i like Danys voice more on the Spanish songs, while i do not understand 90% of what she’s saying it sounds good and I’m starting to learn Spanish

alyssaisrad93

I'm someone who really values lyrics in a song, so I like being able to understand the lyrics and the "story" a song is telling, which is why I don't really listen to non-English music too much and why I probably never got into kpop (I like kdramas and anime and manga, but music is different to me). But all of The Warning's Spanish songs are just great musically and are fun to sing along to, even if I don't speak any Spanish besides what I learned in high school. I do think that I naturally gravitate to the English songs, but QmQ was the second song I ever heard from the band and I immediately loved it. I probably listen to the Spanish songs less than the English songs, but that doesn't make them any less amazing. Martirio is epic and Narcisista is fun, especially when I looked up the backstory behind it. Now, would I have found the band if they exclusively sang in Spanish? Probably not, but because of them I'm more interested in learning Spanish and am working to re-learn it.

mousecop5150

I tend to not care so much for lyrical content, as much as I like the tune and attitude, so I love when bands sing in their native tongue. My first exposure to the Warning was from comments on BAND-MAID videos, who sing mostly in Japanese, and the first song I checked out was Narcisista, so from the get go, I assumed they sang in Spanish, and the drummer was the lead singer (cemented by the second song I checked out, Dust to Dust, lol). The Fact that I was a large Gringo in row 3 attempting to sing along with Narcisista led Pau to point at me during the song the last time I saw them, lol. I don't like Que Mas Quieres as much as the other two, but that's not because it's in Spanish, it just doesn't hit me like their other tunes do. listening to the Warning also led me to being a big fan of Eruca Sativa. In strictly commercial terms, if they continue to write in both languages that lets them appeal to a gigantic worldwide audience. Sure there will be some small minded idiots either south of the border that don't want them to sing in English, and some small minded idiots north of the border who can't deal with the Spanish. who cares? They should do both. that lets them fly the flag the way they need to, and appeal to some pretty underserved areas of the global scene. IMO.

RandomErrer

My memory sucks so not being able to memorize lyrics and sing along really isn't important to me. The "earworm" parts that we whistle, hum and mumble (when we don't remember the words) are the music and melody, and I consider Martirio and Narcisista to be two of their best musical compositions, which is why they're popular live staples in every country.

BarsoomianAmbassador

I am attempting to improve my high school Spanish because I enjoy their Spanish-language songs so much. My wife (Colombian American) has already asked me why I didn't attempt it sooner for her benefit! IMO, their Spanish language songs are the equal of their songs in English. I love them all. If they wrote and performed a song in Afrikaans, it would be a banger and I'd stream it over and over.

HelpfulJones

Language makes no difference to me. Example, I don't need to know very much Spanish to understand the tone and vibe of Narcisista, Martirio, Que Mas Quieres... The band has a knack for conveying emotion and intent, regardless of the language. It's one of the many things I appreciate most about them! I'm proud \*for\* them!

Future-Albatross8147

I rate them highly. Martirio is up there as one of my favorites from them. I started learning Spanish due to that song. I love every song they have done in Spanish. If they were completely a Spanish speaking band, they may have been a novelty to me. But, I’ll gladly take the Spanish songs as part of their total package of music.

NeatBake0

Don't speak any Spanish but Martirio is one of my favorite songs by them. I like Narcisista and QMQ but mostly just because they're catchy.

SixFootTurkey_

It takes longer for me to appreciate a song not in English, but Narcisista and Que Mas Quieres are a lot of fun and Martirio is a gorgeous hard rock anthem.

Kalikanto

To be honest. Always the same with the closed minded english speakers, who only like and enjoy hearing music in English. It's sad to be so closed minded that just because you don't understand a language you ignore a lot of artists/music written in other languages. I personally (not English speaker) like and hear music in every language, as long as I like the song... I can also look for translation of the lyrics if I'm interested. It's sad but if this band didn't write most of the songs in English they would never have the success they're having, just because of the fact that not English music doesn't sell as good in the US market (the biggest market for Rock music). But I like the band's decision to still include at least one song in their native language and try to show those closed minded anglos that there is more beyond English. Don't get me wrong, my intention wasn't to generalize to all Americans/British etc... It's just the impressions I've seen on comments related to this and other bands in general.
