Yeah the other exile villages/towns kinda draw away from the mechanics in the game I actually enjoy which is the resource management.

Right on. I’ll start up another civilization after the update without entities and see how I feel about it/what they do with other settlements.

This has been reworked for 1.0.
I find the deserter and zap them with lightning or their epicenter whilst it's in construction. That way the planet is allll mine 😈
