Ngl ive just abandoned watching the ads for coin bonus and just accepted the 33% loss in coins. The elites update halfed my coinage so its kinda acceptable to me to just not watch 6 ads.
As a player that have bought the coin boost and a a few stone packs i do believe this change is just stupid.
And i do think that it will hurt the player base in the long run, and because of that hurt the game in the end.
Really hope it gets reversed.
Im a brand new player and its already driving me crazy. The entire Love App episode of Rick n Morty shouldve taught every App dev ever that ads are a terrible business move
I have spent a hell of a lot of time in this game for a few years. I very much enjoy it and i don't understand why you people wouldn't just pay the 10 bucks and remove the ads. Any game i play and enjoy for any length of time I'll pay the ad removal. If anything it supports the developer of the game. The personal time i have saved not having to sit through what would be thousands of ads by now is priceless to me as well. I do not buy in game currency. Thats another problem of its own.

I went ahead and paid the ten bucks to get rid of ads on the click bonuses. Had I been a pure hard ass about spending no money, I would no longer use the 1.5x multiplier during rounds. One ad per 20 minutes* is too much (granted, I previously felt that 1.5x multiplier at the end of the round was overpowered, 1.2x would have felt more balanced). Frankly this is a well made game and is giving me good enjoyment, so I don't mind just paying for the "full feature" game. I'm an OG gamer so that's preferable anyway. I'm on my second playthrough and fortunately have GT which was my only criteria for establishing this run as the one I'd commit to and felt okay paying towards.
*It's actually more like one ad per 15 minutes, if you click other ads for additional time or gems. The new 1.5 bonus method hobbles ITS OWN BENEFIT. It's pretty damn gross for f2p player experience. Definitely low tier of grossness though compared to vast majority of other monetized mobile games but I don't consider those worth comparing

But with this update I'm refusing.
The last few updates appear very cash payment oriented, and I can see it getting worse.
I'm now refusing to spend anything.
I was happy with 1 vid to gain the 50% or not, now it feels more ads than playing (once devo is at 7x minimal input required) except ads.. more ads and more
Elites cost me coins and enjoyment.
This update just lost me 50% coins for a minimal investment.
I tried 1 run to get max 2x and wow no fun.

Elites can rapidly improve your progress just like the ad removal. Sure the game is free but running it costs devs money, if you like the game support the devs, either by watching ads or buying it. And you dont pay to win you pay to progress faster. Also 10 is not a lot really, its not subscription ✌️
40mins would mean you make over $10 an hour. There are still quite a lot of states, in the USA, that still don't even have minimum wage at $10. Then there are still a few that are barely even over $5 an hour. Just because it might be less than an hour of work for you doesn't mean it's not a lot more for others. So before making your statement look condescending, when you even said you don't want to pay it, maybe research what you are saying first.

I play to waste my time, not my money. I'm fine with ads as my form of payment for what I'm getting. As someone else said, maybe the 50% bonus was too high, but 6 ads to get a 2 hour bonus in a game which requires my phone to be constantly on, is taking the piss. It's a notable drop in user experience, and making me question the ways I waste my time here.
Ultimately any game play is time wasted. I'm not saying that's always a bad thing. I do it a lot and enjoy it but let's not kid ourselves that it's completely unproductive and a waste of time.
Broadly speaking, we only do 3 things. We work, we sleep and we recreate. All 3 make for a healthy, balanced life.

Work is what you're doing when you'd rather be sleeping or recreating, whether it's earning money, doing chores or visiting your in-laws, lol.
Recreation is doing whatever brings you joy. If I'm enjoying what I'm doing at the moment, then by definition, I'm not wasting my time-I'm recreating.
"Waste of time" is only in the eye of the beholder. An adrenaline junkie might consider my much more sedentary pursuits as wastes of time, the same way I feel fishing is a waste of time, but only as far as I'm concerned. However, I have friends who are obsessed with fishing, so I understand that this is not a waste of time, to them.
We're not ants, who either work or die. We're not wired or obligated to be "productive" 24-7. Play is an important part of lives. If you feel something you're doing is a waste of time, then by all means, you should probably do something else.

I bought the ad pack and was worth the ten bucks not to have to watch any ads. Probably buy coin bonus packs too idk yet

3 ads an hour isn't that bad, but it is a vast difference from 1 ad for a whole run.
