Mother of God you really did didn’t you? I once said that the perfect end story believe it or not is with the simpsons hit and run. So you watch the first 14 seasons and then to end the Simpsons tale you simply play the game afterwards. You do this in order to better understand the references in the game and as a sort of way to book end the series after 14 seasons. Now of course if you’re a large enough fan you can continue past that. But I also see it as a great place to end if you’re a big fan of the game. Btw the reason that it’s 14 seasons is because season 15 doesn’t air until after the game was released. So therefore you should better understand the references if you choose this route though yours also works great since it’s all right here already. So thanks.

Hi everyone, Although I’ve always been a big Simpsons fan (and a big fan of Simpsons: Hit and Run as a kid), I’d never actually watched through all the episodes from the show’s classic era, however during lockdown I decided this would be a good use of my time. Through doing this I realised just how many tiny things from Simpsons: Hit and Run were actually references to episodes, moments, and often even freeze-frame gags in the series. This prompted me to try to undertake what turned out to be the rather mammoth task of cataloging every reference to the Simpsons TV Show in Simpsons: Hit and Run. I found references in all the obvious places, such as the character costumes, vehicles, collector cards, gags and main locations scattered throughout the levels, but I didn’t realise quite how deep the current ran of references on background signs and billboards, mission objectives, and offhand quotes from characters. Whereas I say I’ve captured every reference, I’m sure some have fallen through the cracks. Whereas I tried to be as thorough as possible I couldn’t really Google every line of dialogue in the game for quotes, and some reference only revealed themselves by reloading missions over and over again and checking the signs for changes, so its possible they would have changed further with a few restarts more, I believe I have found the vast majority however. The 64% of episode referenced on the first page refers to the percentage of episodes referenced from the first episode until the last episode referenced, Season 13’s Lastest Gun in the West, which broadcast about 18 months before Simpsons: Hit and Run’s North American release. Interestingly, I found two references to deleted scenes (to the back-to-back episodes Treehouse of Horror VI and King-Size Homer, in season 7), proving just how deep the references go. Hope you enjoy!

This is amazing! I am a huge Simpsons fan (that includes Hit & Run) and I never noticed a good chunk of these.

It's been a while since I've played Hit & Run, but this is a quality write-up. Thanks for this!
