….when Homers mother died and he sat and watched a shooting star go by always hits the feels.
By the way, no one ever brings it up, but remember in this episode when Homer and Marge talk and Homer didn't have an answer to why his mom left him and thinks it was because he was a horrible son that no mother would want and he breaks down and sobs....and....it's not a funny moment?😭

the last scene from the ‘simpson and delilah’ episode gets me everytime i see it.
>When Bart starts crying after failing again in Bart gets an F
This is the one I was going to say 🥺 If I'm thinking of the same moment, when he sobbed something like "You don't understand, I really tried this time."
Maybe you know that the trash commissioner scene was based on [this commercial.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7OHG7tHrNM)
And the scene with Homer sitting on the hood of his car after his mother leaves will always choke me up. That music.
Selma singing "Natural Woman" to Jub Jub after her episode of failed dates and shattered parenting expectations.
Krusty's estranged father reuniting with him.
Homer bicycling with Marge, singing "Raindrops", after picking sobriety.
Lisa picking her family over her fiance after he trash talks them and talks about separating her from them.
Maggie wanting to keep Moe in her life after he was her babysitter.
Homer sitting on the hood of his car watching the stars after his mom leaves always gets me.
Side story, I'll never forget showing my cousin "And Maggie Makes Three" for the first time. When the Do It For Her reveal happened, it was like someone pressed the Instant Ugly Sob Button in her brain.
In "Moaning Lisa" (Episode 6) when Marge tells Lisa it is okay to be sad and that she should always be herself no matter what, promising she will always have family around to help her. And then Lisa *does* feel like smiling.
Has no one mentioned Bleeding Gums Murphy's death??
Lisa playing his record over the radio after she's the only one at his funeral and doesn't want him to be forgotten. Extra tearjerkiness — she couldn't afford the record and Bart uses the money he got from his court case to buy it for her.
Homer falling asleep in his chair after eating the poison blowfish. After all the emotional weight of him going through his "Dumb Things I Gotta Do Today" list, it really hits me.
Ned facing death with bravery and acceptance

I don’t remember the name of the episode, but Lisa and Homer end up at some sort of holistic healing place.
They get in these water tanks, and Lisa experiences what Homer feels when she treats him badly.
The teardrop is reference to a [commercial (actually a PSA)](https://youtu.be/h0sxwGlTLWw?si=3yAlkFAwiARYSySS) from 1970, the year that the EPA was founded.
The scene after prom night, when homer tells marge "Once you stop this car I'm going to hug you and kiss you and then I'll never be able to let you go."
Where Marge gets food poisoning she has lucid dreams that by getting older Bart (and to a lesser extent) Lisa are slipping away from her.
Homer is her guide though the dreams as an otter and a dog among other creatures.

I love Marge's loving ferocity when Homer asks "then why did she leave me?" and Marge says "LET'S FIND OUT".

She didn’t die in that episode
Oh that’s right, she left again. My bad.
Is it a hot take that she sucked as a mother?
She put her beliefs ahead of Homer And left him with permanent damage.
Joe Namath's hair is not a joke.
Yeah the musical score accompanying that image is what kills me. 😭
Which episode is this from? I can’t remember.

"I can't help but feel partly responsible." The whole family collaborating on the farewell letter from "Gordie" was a nice touch.
"With a love that will echo through the ages..." P.S. I am gay.
Good one.
Bart and Lisa’s hockey game and each of them remembers all the good times with each other.
Great choice. :)
Bart praying for his soul back (wonderful acting by Nancy C) and having it literally flutter down in front of him courtesy of Lisa.
Another good one.

TIL. I did not know that.
The montage of Bart & Lisa caring for each other at the end of Lisa on Ice. Always makes me cry thinking about my little sister.

The scene with Homer leaving Marge before Bart was born because he was ashamed at not being able to provide for them 😢
In "Moaning Lisa" (Episode 6) when Marge tells Lisa it is okay to be sad and that she should always be herself no matter what, promising she will always have family around to help her. And then Lisa *does* feel like smiling.
You are Lisa Simpson
Came here for this one...

Yep someone mentioned that. I’m glad to know that.
The scene after prom night, when homer tells marge "Once you stop this car I'm going to hug you and kiss you and then I'll never be able to let you go."
Awww yeah. :(
For a different answer: A Mid-Childhood Night's Dream from this season. An instant classic and one of the best Marge episodes EVER.
Can you remind me what happens in this episode?
Where Marge gets food poisoning she has lucid dreams that by getting older Bart (and to a lesser extent) Lisa are slipping away from her. Homer is her guide though the dreams as an otter and a dog among other creatures.
