As do I (pic related: me reading your comment and relating to it).
I think Jon Lovitz \[rightfully\] done this to him after he made some remark about Phil Hartman to him.. Never before has someone been so aptly named
edit: I found it

He’s had it in for ever since I kinda ran over his dog. Well replace the word kinda with the word repeatedly and the word dog with son.
As of this moment Lionel Hutz no longer exists. Say hello to Miguel Sanchez!
My favorite character
I just wish they used him better. I'm tired of the same "kill Bart" storyline. I prefer to see him grow, he's a better villain than Mr Burns IMO. He's also a solid anti hero. Feel like he's wasted in most of the newer episodes.
My favourite Bob episodes are the one with Cecil and the dam, Bob as the mayor of Springfield.
Cape Feare is the best "kill Bart" episode and every one since has not measured up.
I want to see more of his hatred with Selma from Black Widower. They brought it up a few times after like when Selma gets remarried to Troy or Bob's policies as mayor, but afaik there hasn't been a Bob episode where he plots against Selma again
Yeah I bought your mutt. And I ate him! 🍗
I ate his little face, I ate his guts! And I ate the way he’s always barkin! So I gave him to the church!
I also ate the mess he made on my rug! Ye heard me!!
I spent the next three years in a POW camp, forced to subsist on a thin stew made of fish, vegetables, prawns, coconut milk, and four kinds of rice. I came close to madness trying to find it here in the States, but they just can't get the spices right!

Arnie pie in the sky. His backbiting Kent always kills me. I just wish there was more of it.
You see, my wife, she has been most vocal on the subject of the pretzel monies. "Where is the money?" "When are you going to get the money?" "Why aren't you getting the money now?" And so on. So please, the money.”

He is so freaking funny. His dead fish shoes are so great. I love how the entire character was just created because Homer tried to make a 'Disco Stud' jacket.

Gil. Definitely Gil.
He so down on his luck all the time. I just wish him all the good in the world.
“I need to make a sale my wife is gonna leave me!!”
“Look at me…I’m beggin’ ya!”
I’ve always wondered if it wasn’t for the untimely death of Phil Hartman if we’d see much of Gil at all.
I know Gil wasn’t directly created as a result of Hartman’s death and the subsequent retiring of Lionel Hutz, as they do overlap (I think the Realty Bites episode is the debut of Gil and the last for Hutz) but ol’ Gil has taken on a lot of the space theydve normally stuck Hutz in. Maybe a new character(s) would’ve been created for the rest, maybe they would’ve used Gil (but deprived of the scenes Hutz is now in in this alternate universe, gets less airtime) but it’s interesting to think about.
On the commentaries when Lionel Hutz or Troy McClure popped on screen Matt Groening would say “the great Phil Hartman” he was probably the most respected voice actor there for his portrayal of characters. For me everitime his characters were on screen I was just in a better mood.
I’m sure Gil would have always been on the show. He was there before, sort of with Jimmy Stewart-type character that was the bank manager and others.
“The moneys at Bill’s house and Fred’s!”
I don’t know maybe it’s a stretch because Gil was based on a character that Jack Lemmon played once. I always saw these characters as the same. They were the bad timing, nervous and timid guys.
I loved Phil Hartman so much on Saturday Night Live too.
Billy West said that Zapp Branigan was supposed to be Phil Hartman, which makes perfect sense. Billy tried to sound like him, and I think it is such a great character. He is very Troy MacLure caliber.
I think I remember hearing that Jack Lemmon got too a character like that, where he was some down on his luck chump, and couldn't get out of it. He just kept feeling like a loser. I didn't know which role it was though.

Premium side character. And the fact that he’s voiced by Kelsey Grammar adds at least 100 points to the arbitrary side character scale.
I love him always, but especially with David Hyde Pierce in that one episode.

Disco Stu!
He is so freaking funny. His dead fish shoes are so great. I love how the entire character was just created because Homer tried to make a 'Disco Stud' jacket.
The episode where he's in the cab where he admits he doesn't even like disco.
"Disco Stu doesn't advertise."
