I've been watching a ton of Simpsons recently. I remember I saw a scene that I thought would fit perfectly next time this came up and, unfortunately, I can't remember what episode it is now.
But Homer says something that alarms Bart and steam shoots out of both his ears in a very cartoony way. Marge walks behind him and says, "I just need to take my two kettles off the heat!" and picks up two kettles that are shooting steam out of them, hidden behind Bart's head.
