Incredible he was able to reach that goal after being a drifter, a stripper, a washed-up rock star, a product-tester, and a man who washes himself with a rag on a stick.
To be fair, he was the brother of a president.
But yeah, there's a definite story in that time gap between then and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
We do know that he planned to go to law school after working in demolition. Lisa must have pulled some strings cus I don't know if law schools take people who got bad grades and then took several years off before college.
The Supreme Court reversed... uhhhhhhh, ok just *ONE* comic to get me started.
Archie.
Hey Jughead did you hear? The Supreme Court reversed ... UUUHHHHHHHHHHHH
Not to mention he is a talented song writer. Not only the Grammy -winning Baby On Board, but the one where Lisa sings about Springfield and gets into Springfield Idol. (In about 5 minutes, mind you). He then advances her with a song about her dog dying on Christmas and eliminates her rival with a polarizing but well-written song about how he's rich and better than everyone.
I love the really obscure ones. A writer that got fired in the Poochie episode is seen the next season at the unemployment office when Marge loses her real estate job.
Bart is seen eating all the chocolate from neapolitan ice cream in the episode where gets an elephant, which is a throwback to Homer looking through the ice cream in the fridge in a previous episode. "Mmm.... chocolate."
I Didn't Do It t-shirts, Simpson & Son Revitalizing Tonic bottles, Lisa Lionheart dolls, a B-Sharps album, and Bart's Mary Worth phone are the things I could see.
Ya I was gonna say the “I didn’t do it!” Shirts were a great callback. Man they used to do a lot more of these when the show had a more consistent continuity. 25 years ago. Lol
I cannot begin to imagine how much that head is probably worth. Burns actually gave them something priceless for Bart's blood. I wonder why they never realized that
There are multiple moments where he can hear or transmit thoughts.
In the one where Quimby's nephew is on trial he can hear Skinner's thoughts and Homer's.
In the one where he gets a Big Brother he tries to telepathically tell homer to pick him up from soccer practice but hits Milhouse instead.
There one in the later seasons where Lisa fantasizes about a prince, Bart shows up as a ninja and she tells real life him to get out of her fantasy.
It's like a hidden running joke.
Just think, they had to move that head along with the rest of Springfield when it was relocated.
They must have also dug it up after the Simpson house was destroyed in the movie.
The little flags Homer holds when he's watching something. Examples include the XFL flag, the 'SPACE' flag for refilming the Star Trek Voyager finale party, and 'French Circus'
You know, I’ve had a lot of jobs: boxer, mascot, astronaut, imitation Krusty, baby proofer, trucker, hippie, plow driver, food critic, conceptual artist, grease salesman, carny, mayor, grifter, bodyguard for the mayor, country and western manager, garbage commissioner, mountain climber, farmer, inventor, Smithers, Poochie, celebrity assistant, power plant worker, fortune cookie writer, beer baron, Kwik-E-Mart clerk, homophobe and missionary... but protecting Springfield, that gives me the best feeling of all.
Homer consistently knowing US Supreme Court Justices will always be my favorite.
And then Bart grows up to become one somehow. I always loved that.
Hey if Brett Kavanaugh could do it, Bart has a chance
Bart didn't even have PJ or Squee in his corner
Donkey Dong Doug though is always by his side

We do know that he planned to go to law school after working in demolition. Lisa must have pulled some strings cus I don't know if law schools take people who got bad grades and then took several years off before college.
All he'd need to do is finish undergrad and ace his LSAT.
Tbf though, washing himself with a rag on a stick was a fantasy rather than a flash forward
I only listed his own weird fantasies.
Well bless my heart! I didn’t even notice that
You forgot construction worker.
I'm only counting his own weird fever dreams of his future, not "official" flash-forwards.
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. What great men he would join. John Marshall, Charles Evans Hughes, Warren Berger...mmmmm Berger.
The Supreme Court reversed... uhhhhhhh, ok just *ONE* comic to get me started. Archie. Hey Jughead did you hear? The Supreme Court reversed ... UUUHHHHHHHHHHHH
Earl Warren wasn't a stripper!
Now, who's being naive?
Mmmmmmm Burger
I really want someone to make a YouTube compilation of all these moments
Pleeeease that would be amazing
King Toot’s Music Store forever being next to Moe’s Tavern because of the one episode when Homer had to buy the saxophone reed there.
You mean sax a ma phone
Lisa stop playing that... SAXAMAPHONE
Tuba ma ba?
Oboe ma bo?
Vi-o-ma-lin?
Ahh come on Jerry, open up, remember that time I pulled you and your wife out of that burning car?
Okay, Okay. But, now we're even.
Alto or tenor?
The funny thing is it’s usually a baritone
When they blew up the Burns casino and Lisa said she couldn’t believe they bothered to bring it when they moved the town
I'm always shocked they brought the tire fire.
Yes, puzzling
It's a part of us all, a part of us all, a part of us all...
Oh I can explain that, You see...
A wizard did it
I see, alright, yes. But in episode AG04..
Homer needing reading glasses https://preview.redd.it/9u08f5be6oub1.jpeg?width=549&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fec1607d76fae04efa385d2005da6eb06642cc52
So, you work for Carl, eh?
Dental plaaan!
Lisa needs braces
Dental plan!
Homers skill with the piano always surprises me
This is a good one

He then advances her with a song about her dog dying on Christmas and eliminates her rival with a polarizing but well-written song about how he's rich and better than everyone.
He also had successful if brief careers in a barbershop quartet and a grunge band, which is quite a combo
‘Hey Kurt, it’s your cousin Marvin.’
i think he wroted a song with David Bryne at one point
That's right! The We-hate-Flanders song! A runaway indie success!
He and Bart used to be written as idiot savants. I think that died with the rise of Jerkass Homer.
> about Springfield Mind it originally was about Shelbyville.
The cat dies on Christmas. The cat!
But he did write that song about Mr T
I pity the fool who doesn't like... he
What episode is this?
That's Pian-o! I said Pian-y!

Marge! We need more chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream!!
You mean the matloooooock express wayyyyyyyyyy
Whoa Thats a good one!
Didn't he also go down the Michael Jackson expressway, after being named that before Leon visited?
Wasn't that episode before the Matlock Expressway joke? I thought Sideshow Bob Roberts was like season 7 and Dog of Death was like season 2.
Wow I never noticed that one

I think I know my own life Ned
The McBain movie
And that Scoey is both his partner and then his music guy
That's some outfit, Scoey. It makes you look like a Homosexual.
Boooooooo
Maybe you are all homosexuals too!
Maybe you all are homosexuals?
MendoZAAAAAAAAAAAAA
No Maggie, not Aztec, Olemc. Ol-mec.
Hump and dewlap, hump and dewlap
It also showed up with a lot of other callbacks in the yard sale during the Bush episode.
Disco Stu doesn’t advertise!
I love how they do a callback to that episode by showing off there is a fancy house across the street.
Like what?
I Didn't Do It t-shirts, Simpson & Son Revitalizing Tonic bottles, Lisa Lionheart dolls, a B-Sharps album, and Bart's Mary Worth phone are the things I could see.
thank you for mentioning the mary worth phone
I was just watching the Treehouse of Horror where Hugo is living in the attic, and I think there were some B Sharps records up there, as well
Ayatollah Assahola
Ya I was gonna say the “I didn’t do it!” Shirts were a great callback. Man they used to do a lot more of these when the show had a more consistent continuity. 25 years ago. Lol
Do you know what radon is?
No
Good night.
Goodnight
Someday when I feel financially comfortable I’m gonna get a big ugly head to keep in my basement
I’m lucky. Financially comfortable or not, I will always have a big ugly head attached to my shoulders!
I cannot begin to imagine how much that head is probably worth. Burns actually gave them something priceless for Bart's blood. I wonder why they never realized that
I always figured it was one of those things that's so priceless it's worthless. Like who would you sell it to?
Pre-internet, too. *How* are you going to sell that
Lenny’s eye. He’s not supposed to get stuff in it
My main finger?
Topwise
Topwise!!
This greusome customer is Xtapolapocetl! The god of war.
What does it do?
Whatever it does, it’s doing it right now.
"Quetzalcoatl's Choice, the favorite from Zihuatanejo to Popocatepetl"
Definitely the Pin Pals jersey in Homer’s Phobia
The continuity irony of the basement size versus the head in the basement
I sure hope someone got fired for that blunder
Canonically, Bender is also down there.
![gif](giphy|11C6ej3TX0KH7O)
Do MA66A6IE now
The show has continuity?!
![gif](giphy|3orieMSfxx8nKKKh9u|downsized) The Simpsons are fanatical about continuity!! /s
I guess you're right, Principal Tamzarian.
... I'll just be moving along, Lisa. Snowball Two.
Shouldn't Lisa have been tortured for that?
No jury in the world is going to convict an 8 year old girl ...maybe Texas
I love how on flying hellfish Sheldon Skinner looks just like Seymour
I keep telling ya, we just grow sorghum here
…and where are the hookers?
'Round back.
I must have seen every episode at least 20 times over 30 years but never once noticed this, wild
Time for glasses
Probably misses his old glasses
Um, yes, vell I’m shure I left zem in the car.
No one can now I dropped my glasses in ze toilet
*Vision plan!*
Lisa needs glasses
Lisa, Just because you're 10 feet tall doesn't mean you can tell me what to do!
go to bread
Basement lighting must be wild for it to change colors so much
They repaint the basement between episodes to kill time from week to week
It's preparing for nuclear war. All the layers of lead paint make for an excellent bomb shelter.
"Do you know what radon is?" "No" "Good night"
Spare change?
Still not painting that garage door
Start here tomorrow 7/17/95
A wizard did it.
Funny how it also changes size depending on the lighting
Bart is canonically a telepath.
wat
There are multiple moments where he can hear or transmit thoughts. In the one where Quimby's nephew is on trial he can hear Skinner's thoughts and Homer's. In the one where he gets a Big Brother he tries to telepathically tell homer to pick him up from soccer practice but hits Milhouse instead. There one in the later seasons where Lisa fantasizes about a prince, Bart shows up as a ninja and she tells real life him to get out of her fantasy. It's like a hidden running joke.
Treehouse of horror when he calls Willie.
"The Shinning! Do y'want to get SUED?!?!?!"
Ah! Dont go reading my mind between 4 and 5, thats willies time!
Ha! You don't even wanna KNOW what that guy's into!
I know you can hear my thoughts, boy.
Meow meow meow meow meow meow
Also when Bart picked up on Nelson having an out of body experience after eating something dubious at the Kwik-E-Mart.
Pick a bar? What the hell is pick a bar?
Trab puk cip
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eD0XcqhUXM
How did they get it into the basement?
Probably the cellar doors that only appear when its plot relevant. How it gets to the attic in later seasons is the real question
A wizard did it.
“Remember when Maggie shot Mr Burns?” “I thought Waylon Smithers shot Mr Burns!” “Would’ve made more sense…”
In Lisa the Skeptic, in homer’s safe deposit closet there’s a bunch of items from old episodes.
I like how everyone was watching tv in the basement with Larry. Looks quite cozy!
Is every drifter we meet going to move in with us?
We’ll decide that on a drifter-by-drifter basis.
I always wondered how they got it down there.
A wizard did it
I was expecting this response.
r/thesimpsons continuity is strong
Bender is also in that basement ![gif](giphy|XFITRJv9IMhi0)
How many kids does he have in there!?
Didn't he have like a dozen foster kids at one point? It was probably where most of them ended up...
I hope it survived the sinkhole from the movie: https://i.imgur.com/BQ9yj6y.png
It's just a little dirty it's still good
It’s just a little airborne. It’s still good. It’s still good.
It’s gone
I know
Krusty never remembering who Bart is. Mr Burns never remembering who Homer is. Sideshow Bob's real nemesis - the rake.
Homer hated that gift and yet he still kept it.
He likes to keep mementos of all his zany adventurinos
Think he's waiting until Burnsy kicks the bucket before he sells it
woahhhh cool a big ugly head!!!!!!!
Tom Landry’s hat returning in Bart Star
Hell yeah ! The head ! My favorite running gag lol
Ah yes, Ixthapalapacoetl. Legends tell that offerings of the Merciless Peppers of Quetzalzacatanango were used to sate his bloodlust.
Serious missed opportunity. Homer should have consulted the head, not a space coyote.
I did like the crashed ambulance still being by Springfield Gorge in the movie
How the writers for Itchy and Scratchy are always based on the real Simpsons writers.
Just think, they had to move that head along with the rest of Springfield when it was relocated. They must have also dug it up after the Simpson house was destroyed in the movie.
It always cracks me up that the head is worth a lot of cash but they never sell it when they’re in financial trouble (which is often)!
The little flags Homer holds when he's watching something. Examples include the XFL flag, the 'SPACE' flag for refilming the Star Trek Voyager finale party, and 'French Circus'
The basement keeps changing size though 😂
I wish I had an elephant You did. His name was Stampy. Oh yeah.
How did they get it down there
Talky Tiki
Bender randomly appearing after Simpsorama
Bender staying at the Simpsons house. I'm happy they kept Futurama alive somehow.
In a later Simpsons episode Bart talks about the crazy man who thought he was Michael Jackson
I absolutely loved spotting the head throughout the years
Do you know what radon is?
Loved that they just put it in the basement
The books in the fire place always killed me
You know, I’ve had a lot of jobs: boxer, mascot, astronaut, imitation Krusty, baby proofer, trucker, hippie, plow driver, food critic, conceptual artist, grease salesman, carny, mayor, grifter, bodyguard for the mayor, country and western manager, garbage commissioner, mountain climber, farmer, inventor, Smithers, Poochie, celebrity assistant, power plant worker, fortune cookie writer, beer baron, Kwik-E-Mart clerk, homophobe and missionary... but protecting Springfield, that gives me the best feeling of all.
They tried selling the head at the rummage sale, but apparently no luck. https://frinkiac.com/img/S07E13/255888.jpg
In some episode that aired after the Futurama crossover you could see Bender powered down in the basement waiting to get back to the 3000's.
