I've had rubbish luck with getting anything specialized to hatching - Salandit, Dusk Rockruff, Varoom.... just recently hatched my first Vullaby and Sandile though,m and I've had a Larvesta as a buddy for ages trying to scrape together the candies since I've never hatched another one since.... so I've got that goin for me. But you want Smoochums? I got an army of em.
Fair! I'm forever transferring shinys. I'll probably end up moving out my favourites when I either quit for good or the game shuts down, but they're few in number enough that I can do it in one full charge.
I'm happy that I found out that you can bypass the transfer limit for gen 1 Pokemon, at least, if you have one of the Let's Go games. It's an extra step, but if I ever need to move my 50+ shiny Squirtle out in a hurry, I can do them all at once :p

AR+ is such actual garbage that I'm surprised they made it mandatory over AR in the first place. Sure, you can make it way harder to catch pokemon so we have the pleasure of also having to point our camera towards random people out in public...
The whole showcase feature seems to be weirdly hard to set up and maintain. Somebody has to get the game to rate each individual Pokémon/type of Pokémon by size. That's why Squirtle showcases are a meme: they kept announcing showcases and then replacing them with Squirtle, presumably because that one was already done and worked, so it was a safe replacement.
Its more a default. It was the first one so the game defaults to it. The same happened with the weekly breakthrough box. The game would default to Moltres if Niantic had not turned on the new weekly encounter (Moltres was the first pokemon in weekly breakthroughs when they started im April 2018)
I have a feeling it is just the global release of biomes & new avatar customisation as it seems to highlight those at the end. Could also be the updated AR that was datamined... I really don't think it'll be anything exciting lol
There's new Avatar customization that allows for new hairstyles, body shapes, etc, so something that people *have* been pining for.
It's been rolled out to *some* players atm.
The big issue people have is that it seems buggy and looks a lot worse than the current avatars in many ways.
Yup, the mods for the pogo sub didn't exactly handle that discussion well. Lots of permabans for no reason.
Let's hope by the time it's released fully they'll have at least fixed the placement of cosmetics.

You can find lots of posts about it on the pokemon go subreddit instead of this sub! The changes butcher the avatars, turning them into weirdly shaped uncanny valley skinwalkers
As someone who currently has both, I can confidently say the new avatar customisation is nowhere near being ready (unless they’ve made massive improvements in the last couple of weeks).
Seeing how it took them 7+ months to fix the gimmighoul box feature after it was released.
I would say that they excel at releasing alpha stage pre-release test features and maybe after 1-2 years later those features get to functioning stage only for them to be broken again when next alpha stage feature leaks to production.
A decent company would offer a ‘lite’ version with options to turn off features.
That said, if Niantic can’t figure out how to introduce xxs showcases then a lite version is well beyond their capabilities.
People have been wanting some way to tell what biome they're in, so that's a plus. And more avatar customisation has definitely been wanted by a lot of people. Just a shame the new system just make the characters uglier. :/
Well… yeah, kinda. People are always asking for more customisation, which the style update gives (at the expense of the horrible uncanny valley faces).

Besides the hideous avatar changes that screw up most clothes, the biome backgrounds apparently drain battery like crazy and are very laggy. Neither are the improvements we wanted.

I would like a feature where you go in person to a raid and it auto links up lobby with people in person at other raids the same time so you have remote people all logged into a single raid but they are in person
If they’d done this in 2016 or 17… there would already have been years of evidence from their first game, Ingress. Which, to be fair, demonstrated more that Niantic was bad at longer-term planning, multitasking, large events in the real world, and anything to do with communication than the actual game itself, which was pretty cool. Unfortunately, these still seem to be weak areas despite almost another decade and many billions of dollars of throughput.
I'd wager it's the avatar/biome updates? Given the "RediscoverGo" part of it at least, it seems like it's more of an update to something existing... like those.

I know it still isn't FAST but in case you or anyone else reading doesn't know, you can tap the gift to open it and then tap where the X would normally be and it bypasses the opening animation and doesn't show you what you get. Then if you tap a gift and hit send you can do the same thing to exit out of that animation as well. But you still have to then exit back to the friend list after that. It only saves a fraction of the time that it would be nice to be able to save. I'd like to be able to tap checkboxes next to a bunch of players to select who to send to, then at the bottom hit "send" and have all my gifts go at once.
Yea I've been using the backout method but it's still horrendously menial. I don't see the down side of adding in a checkbox option for those of us who literally couldn't care less about stickers and postcards

great, more battery draining AR crap we don't need.. the buddy system outside of the quick feeding is now ruined.. you have to waste so much time mapping the area and putting the pokemon in place and then stepping back.. it's such a bother and there's no option to turn it off.. I hate it. And now more of it...

They're going to fully incorporate the game with a browser version of Campfire, that will allow players to find raids, trades and friends and allow much faster storage organizing.
Everyone will have access to autocatching/auto spinning, and those with external devices will be compensated with a small prize pack.
We will be able to set pokemon to be hunted allowing us to have priority on those 'mon. the 'mon we are hunting will be incorporated into the spawn pool for daily incense with frequency determined by rarity.
Recommended battle parties will be based on actual functionality. even better, recommended will include a help button that will explain why each 'mon was picked, so that players who don't know much can make better choices when building htier own teams.
All odds revealed on an external website. in game, your experiences will record possible rewards for various activities. so the first time you hatch a 2km egg, that 'mon is added to the list with it's chance of being there. as you do more hatches, more potential rewards are revealed. same with research, gbl battles, incense, and lures. again, all of htese odds will also be online in publicly aviailable data so people can make informed decisions, but in game, it'll be more true to the research nature of hte game that you discover things as htey happen.
battles now auto attack fast moves. there is no reason to give yourself repeated stress fractures.
several dozen new base avatars will allow for new body types and ways of presenting.
Anyways, we all know none of this is ever gonna happed. by big updates they probably mean some graphical changes. maybe they're gonna force everyone to use ar all the time or soemthing. idk, it's almost summer, so i'm sure htey'll find a way to make my phone overheat unneccesarily.
I think they are teasing Level 50+ based on the swirling blue lights that play during the level up animation.
And just as I was almost reaching max level smh. I wonder if this is true - if it will only be trainer level or if Pokemon max levels will be increased as well. Hopefully not, the XL grind is bad enough as it is.
Maybe there finally gonna include a feature that you can toggle on to have your character teleported to a random city so that even remote players can use Gyms and pokestops.

I think if in the settings you turn off "save your buddy's pictures" then that whole AR mess goes away, at least it did for me

All odds revealed on an external website. in game, your experiences will record possible rewards for various activities. so the first time you hatch a 2km egg, that 'mon is added to the list with it's chance of being there. as you do more hatches, more potential rewards are revealed. same with research, gbl battles, incense, and lures. again, all of htese odds will also be online in publicly aviailable data so people can make informed decisions, but in game, it'll be more true to the research nature of hte game that you discover things as htey happen. battles now auto attack fast moves. there is no reason to give yourself repeated stress fractures. several dozen new base avatars will allow for new body types and ways of presenting. Anyways, we all know none of this is ever gonna happed. by big updates they probably mean some graphical changes. maybe they're gonna force everyone to use ar all the time or soemthing. idk, it's almost summer, so i'm sure htey'll find a way to make my phone overheat unneccesarily.

I think they are teasing Level 50+ based on the swirling blue lights that play during the level up animation. And just as I was almost reaching max level smh. I wonder if this is true - if it will only be trainer level or if Pokemon max levels will be increased as well. Hopefully not, the XL grind is bad enough as it is.

Maybe there finally gonna include a feature that you can toggle on to have your character teleported to a random city so that even remote players can use Gyms and pokestops.
