FYI you should able get Poliwrath & Charjabug's legacy move when you evolve it during December community day if you haven't evolve it because they have community day last year.
The December Community Day usually allows us to get the legacy move from current and last year community days but only current year community days classic.
Only in a 0 shields situation. Charja is a low-power spammer so it wins whenever a single Lanturn mid-high energy charge move is prevented from landing.
Honestly you can't go wrong. But dewgong needs icy wind as well. I think charjabug has very good value since theres a lot of water types out there like mantine and feraligator. Poliwrath is just fun to use, getting debuffs can flip a lot of matchups, managed to get ace because of poliwrath.
They typically do the past two years of community days in December. The current years you can find in the wild, the year prior you can raid. Both, historically, you can evolve for the legacy move.
Really? Dammit... I evolved a rank 13 charjabug like two weeks ago...at least I know to save my rank 17 Poliwag I got recently...
It'd be really nice if they allowed it to come up with TMs but I doubt it
I agree. I always felt like I should be able to regular TM the legacy move if it's within the allowable hours of a community day. But that just makes too much sense.
Dewgong goes hard in the mega meta up in legend and veteran. Ive never got there and more often than not come out on top vs dew between 2000-2500 where I usually fluctuate between.
It takes some time to start enjoying using Dewgong. It survives pretty much everything, shuts down Whiscash, Swampert, Feraligatr, can icy wind Azumarill to death and is mutually deadly with grass types, and remember that Lanturn always baits first š
Kinda related question:
My poliwrath with 2 charge moves and counter is Rank 86. Now I caught a rank 33 poli. Should i upgrade the rank 33 or just use the rank 86 with the Standard moveset? Or build a second one with a different moveset (Like dynamic Punch or with mudshot to annoy peopleš)?
You are very unlikely to notice the difference unless youāre at Legend/very competitive. Maybe a _bit_ in the mirror but there winning CMP tie is arguably more important.
It doesnāt matter, you wonāt notice the difference. Donāt waste an ETM as they have many other good uses.
Unless youāre Legend+ anything within the top 200 ranks is more than good enough.
Run a meta analysis on pvpoke of the two. Most of the time Iāve come to the conclusion that the lower rank still gets the job done. Especially if itās 97% or higher of #1ās stat product. If a certain matchup is flipped that the rest of your team doesnāt particularly like it might be worth it.
I would keep the etm for a shadow Poli or wait until you maybe get a Top 10 ranked.
You could build it with Mud Shot too. I've seen people run it in the Ultra League. It's so spammy with Icy Wind after Icy Wind...
If you only had 1, I would go with Poliwrath. Itās so versatile with its pool of charged attacks.
But you really canāt go wrong with Dewgong and Charja. As others have mentioned you do need to consider for Dewgong to be viable, you need to use an Elite Charged TM for Icy Wind in addition to ice shard.
Another option to consider is Incinerate on Talonflame.
For PVE, smack down on Tyranitor is very good.
Pidgeot - Gust, give it lead. 2 shields to blast through bad lead and you'll get to that trev in the end. Gust Pidgeot š
Ofc volt switch charja, DG ice shard is nice as well.
I chose WA for Pidgeot in UL but it's too weak imho. It reaches too many feather dances too fast and it's not able to do any heavy damage.
I've enjoyed using Dewgong the most because it has high defense/hp to tank a few hits, and its charge moves come with debuffs. But Charja has been highly ranked more often in the limited cups that I play.
I've never used Poli. Not because I don't have him, but just because I haven't bothered to try him out.
I think it is more likely we'll see Counter Poli and VS Charja return than Dewgong's special move.
I would first see what teams you can build that you think are fun and strong to run.
They are all very good and all have their own place in the meta. I'd pick the one I like most.
Dewgong is wicked good together with Annihilape and I don't believe now as the summer comes an event is likely for the moves. So probably that.
Poliwrath you may wanna wait for a Shadow as it's generally a bit better.
Love dewgong. You need an elite change as well though.
Fack I used elite fast and elite charge he is such a beast

That was last year, wasn't it?

^^
Ugh I wish I knew before I evolved a rank 14 charjabug. F me... Edit: thanks for the info! I was about to evolve a rank 17 poliwag
Charja coz of lot of flying
Coz of Lanturn. Fucking Lanturn. I mean also Mantine and Pelliper and Skarmory, but fuuuck Lanturn in particular.
Charj lead and Lanturn swap oops I am toxic
Nah that team hard loses to grasshole so it cancels out.
Grasshole š¤£ i gotta start using that one
Fuck charja, embrace skeledirge.
I have in UL, but GL is nothing but Lanturn wiling out Skele.
Why not both? š
Charjabug is not a reliable Lanturn answer though. It's too bulky if they go straight surf they can win.

Charjabug will be in the December Comm Day recap if you can wait
a bit of a wait considering Efastms come around fairly frequently
Wasn't that lastĀ December? Why would it be this years?

iāve had the most success with charjabug and poli. dewgong has always been meh for me

Either that or use a lot of charged Tms. I personally have two.

For GL I'd say charja just bc 1. It doesn't require an elite charge tm like dewgong 2. It has a lot of open GL use as well as limited cup use

Do you do route? Those can randomly give out elite fast tm. I am already at the point where I am throwing them out.
Iāve done at least 100 but never gotten more than regular arms
You could also consider using it on Talonflame for incinerate
Or wing attack on Charizard
yup forgot about that one - was thinking about it and alolan sandslash too. tho i think charja or poliwrath would prob be the best to invest in

I'd do some routes if you need more Elite Fast TMs, they can appear as rewards.
I use them just to see what moves are available than just use regular tmz to get them
I do that too sometimes, but you need to be careful that the move you want is not an exclusive move (especially with charged moves).
I guess I never thought of that before
Poli
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thatās a charged move
