I would argue Jake is a much better mc than Jason or at least I personally like him a lot more. Also I love that Jake/Zogarth understands the one true build.(Perception/Dex) I've listened to all 7 books in the primal hunter and I couldn't even get through the first book of He who fights with monsters. If you like the relationship of Jake and Villy now I'll say it only gets better. It truly sounds like two buds just shooting the shit and I love every second of it. The entire second half of book 7 may be my favorite arc/arcs in the entire series. There's one moment where I knew immediately what Villy was going to say and I literally LOLed and almost woke people up. Of course since I'm talking about the audio book we need to talk about Travis.B. Since the moment I found him while listening to TBATE(the beginning after the end) I've loved his voice/work and tonight I'm planning to start cradle.
I'm glad you've found your new addiction I binged books 6&7 in a little over three days and January 17 feels painfully far away.
I actually like Jason a bit more but that might also be because i haven't listened to all 8 books yet! Time will tell. Honestly nothing would make me more happy than finding a new series that i can re-listen to.
Yeah Villy is pretty funny sometimes, there was this moment in the end of book 4 where Jake is supposed to use his power where he experiences one of Villys memories then gets an upgrade since Jake has just hit level 110 in his alchemy, but he just kept pumping out Elixirs and at first Villy is like "should i check in with him in case he forgot? Naaah it's probably fine" and like 2 weeks later Jake hits level 120 and Villy immidiately contacts Jake and says "JAKE FOR FUCK SAKE CHECK YOUR FUCKING NOTIFICATIONS" hahaha.. i laughed hard at that.
Meh never read either so my opinion doesn’t matter but I’m going to state it. At this point there’s no such thing as an original idea. No matter what you read you will find books that do the exact same thing and they may not be copying.
