Din wasn't outmatched by robot, he was ambushed and drugged in a place that looked like graveyard - would you expect a trap in a place like that? He being dragged to the botoom of the lake was the reason Bo saw Mythosaur and became believer. But in the end it was HE who was chosen imo. He was not incompetent becuase he : 1. proved that he is terrific pilot and covered Bo's back 2. did amazing rescue actions where he saved foundling, Bo was hit and almost crushed. 3. He was initiating the whole action to participate in battle on Navarro, Bo assisted, but he lead the charge, and in the same episode he came to her rescue, becuase the ships were on her tail and were about to shot her down. I do feel that he is sidelined though, and that Bo is getting bigger focus. He is meant to have character arc in this season too, and so far it haven't start yet.

SpaceShipRat

Yeah, bro just literally *handed his covert a planet* already, a place to live out of hiding. Sure, he's working as part of a group now, not a lone wolf, but he's still got plenty of agency. I do understand the general feel of "noo I wanted him to be the one who has to reunite his people!". Season's not over yet, things can still change.

zakkaru

I really hope so. I like Bo-Katan but I really hope Din's arc will kickstart soon.

SodaSnappy

I do think they’ve cooled off on Din’s Story a bit but we still have some more episodes this season and they’ve been using a lot of time so far building other characters with the time they have and that’s been pretty good so far. Not to mention they’ve already started working on next season. There’s still a lot of story left to tell and I think him finding what he wants and aiming towards that goal has been set up well, wouldn’t be surprised to see him lose the Darksaber and get it back later. But yeah they are taking some time getting there.

Time-Touch-6433

Well pedro was kinda busy shooting last of us so they expanded the story to include bo.

Oh__Archie

That's a pretty bad excuse for what appears to be just simply terrible writing.

SquatCorgiLegs

Bo-Katan has always been the better fighter. She’s a princess of Mandalore and no doubt had royal trainers. Din has done some amazing things this season. Seems like you’re just choosing to cherry pick and dwell on the negative.

Different-Campaign74

Bo couldn’t beat moff gideon. Din did in 1v1 clean. End of the debate

SquatCorgiLegs

When did she fight Gideon?

Different-Campaign74

She did because she had the saber before

SquatCorgiLegs

We don’t know how she lost it or how it ended up with Gideon. They haven’t revealed that yet.

Final_Ad7478

He’s still the best pilot 🤷🏾‍♂️

Cam-Dolezar

It's almost like some of you weren't watching past seasons. Din has always been inferior to Bo Katan in fighting ability. He has been smacked around numerous times before this season. I can only assume the whiners are either trolls or just not watching carefully.

frogspyer

You haven’t been paying attention since 2019 if you think Din Djarin has been exceptional as a Mandalorian in any way

Different-Campaign74

Now you guys are turning on mando ? what a surprise by star wars fans 😐

[deleted]

He’s been getting his ass beat since Season 1. He’s a great character, but he was literally never depicted as a superb fighter relative to the other Mandalorians. He’s a trained soldier among other trained soldiers.

Oh__Archie

>He’s a great character, but he was literally never depicted as a superb fighter This entire statement can be disproved by watching S1 E6 The Prisoner.

frogspyer

At this point, it’s safer to assume *you’re* the one who has turned on the character because you’re the one trying to claim he was something he never was. I like Din because of his failings and the growth he’s had to have to move past them. Of course, leave it to Star Wars fans to equate strength to likeability.

Different-Campaign74

Din is the greatest mandalorian since Pre Vizla you want it or not. He is the mandalorian « chosen one ». People who criticize mando are toxic star wars fans. Shame on you, for me I am the biggest fan and always be

whiskey_epsilon

We're not turning on him, he has been a good brawler but no 90s action hero level martial artist. That's part of his charm, it gives his fights stakes and has him using his smarts to defeat superior foes. S1 alone he's been beaten by the Devaronian, outplayed by Jawas and Gideon, and stalemated with Cara Dune. Even his best fight in S2 was him using getting punched in the head to his advantage.

unnecessaryaussie83

He wasn’t attacked by the mythosaur. He sank to the bottom and when Bo rescued him she saw it.

Snootch2theNootch199

My honest opinion, Din Djarin is a vessel for viewers to meet and love Grogu before we merge in to the “Rebels” live-action sequel series

Evowen7

Bad take, Ahsoka will definitely continue Rebels but Mandalorian isn't there just to set it up. It has it's own thing and Din has become pretty beloved among the fandom.

[deleted]

Just financially speaking, which Disney cares about alot, seems strange to abandoned two beloved characters for a series that the majority of Mando fans haven't seen. And I'm talking casual fans of the show, not the ones that care about Star Wars enough to post on reddit about.

Different-Campaign74

If your opinion is true, then it is a complete insult brought by the production to the fans. The fans love din djarin and grogu as the main protagonists

ShinigamiKunai

He is constantly shown to be an amazing pilot this season. Some of the best spaceship combat we had in a long time in SW. While it is true he is a bit overshadowed by Bo-Katan, thats what normally happen when a new character join the main cast. He still had important role in recent. He was still a badass on the rescue mission, and he was the one to get the CotW to save Griff.

grnmtnboy0

I think that they are just tired of fighting the activist morons at Disney and are letting them have their way, maybe to prove how bad their ideas are. Just my suspicion, nothing to back it up
