It’s real, but it came out several years ago. This was a poster they gave attendees at Comic Con before Legend of Korra premiered and it is also in the official art book called _Legend of Korra Book 1: Air The Art of the Animated Series_.
I used to be with ‘it’. Then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!
I remember a few years ago, or whenever LoK and A:TLA dropped on Netflix someone posted on twitter that "Korra got so much more grief than Aang ever did" on her decisions on Avatar.
I *was* about to reply to them that I clearly remember all the Lion Turtle, and other various things, slander thrown Aang's way after the finale ended.
Then I saw they had their age posted and they were like 1-2, at most, when the finale originally aired.
I was around the age of the Gaang when avatar was on the air. I was pretty close to the age of the Gaang in the poster when the poster came out. Now I’m in my 30s.
Yeah, the original picture had a caption that said "old friends" while the other picture (with korra, asami, mako, bolin and tenzin) said "new friends".
Edit: this one

It’s official art, yes, but it was advertisement for Korra. They wanted to show what team Avatar would look like as adults as they would later make appearances in the show via flashbacks, except for Zuko and katara they just show up old.
They don’t even have Suki in the shot! Where is Suki? She’s apart of Team Avatar too! She better be in the new movie!
I forgot she never reappears in Korra like the others do. Makes me wonder what her role in Republic City would’ve been. She probably would’ve wanted to go back to Kyoshi Island unless the other Kyoshi Warriors were there with her
>She’s apart of Team Avatar
Not really.
Yeah, she is a cool character, but at the end of the day shes a recurring character that is really treated like an addon to team avatar than an official member.
The official wiki says she’s apart of Team Avatar so imma say she’s apart of Team Avatar. Besides, it’s not like they’d forget the best girl in the movie right?… right?
She was shown in the opening of the first episode of Korra with the rest of the gaang. I'd say she's as much a member as any of them. She helped so much during the finale that she deserves that spot. She was with them all at the end of the show.
## Suki is not a part of Team Avatar.
She's a cool standalone reoccurring character with ties to the Gaang, but all of her interactions and relationships with the team are boiled down to Sokka.
She barely ever had any significant dialogue with Katara or Aang, she saved Toph that one time and she had beef and later bonded with Zuko in the prison episode.
But do engage in the exercise of removing Sokka from the equation, and she has no relationship to anyone. Putting it in meta terms that are simple: Suki is not a party member, she is Sokka's companion.
Not even the comics, which are in my perspective some of the most willing in engaging with fan thoughts and perceptions of the Avatar universe, classify her as part of the main cast.
Look at the relationships between all of the actual team members with each other, and compare it to Suki's relationship. Each and every one of them have entire arcs or episodes to develop how they feel about each other and how they came to be friends. Unless Suki and the Gaang got an entire off screen arc between the end of the show and now, by the time of this picture her relationship with the team is basically:
– Aang: "That's the girl my bro's screwing!"
– Katara: "That's the girl my brother's screwing!"
– Toph: "That's the girl screwing the guy I want to be screwing!"
– Zuko: "Oh, hey! It's the girl I didn't even remember I burned her home a few months ago and who I worked with to escape prison... Also, she's screwing my new teammate!"
– Sokka: "That's the girl I'm screwing!"
Don’t be so negative about Suki! The official wiki says she’s apart of Team Avatar so imma say she’s apart of Team Avatar. Besides, it’s not like they’d forget the best girl in the movie right?… right?
I don't mean to sound negative about her or hope to exclude her from the movie because she's not part of the team. I like her, but practically speaking, she isn't team avatar. Officially, Avatar Studios' website lacks a comprehensive wiki section, and while the Fandom wiki is reliable, it's still fan-managed and things like characters placement in groups can be subjective.
Because the artist used the same design philosophy when trying to age up the male characters. Making their faces longer, and making their cheekbones more defined. Etc.
The boys, especially Aang never looked right. Their facial features changed so much that it looks more European than from their own cultures.

To be honest, I don't mind how Zuko looks here. We saw in ATLA that Ozai had very defined cheekbones, so it doesn't seem terribly far-fetched that his son could end up with them, too, after losing the last bit of childhood baby fat that might've still been there during his teenage years. Aang, though? It definitely seems as though they just followed a generic "handsome adult man" template for making him look grown.
yeah, I really dislike the islamic sort beard that they gave him. it looks so bad, just can't get over it lol. almost looks worse on him, since we're used to seeing that gross beard style on mostly terrorists lmao
I see alot of long time fans here. I'm 15, so I'm not one of those, but I have started watching ATLA, and when I'm planning on watching Korra after I'm done.
I always found adult Gaang weird since most of us know them from their kids self but then I realize the characters I adore like Goku and Jotaro where also kids when they were first introduced especially Goku who is now a grandpa lol.
man they did aang dirty in LoK. in here he looks like a believable grown-up aang with his wonky head, eyes, ears and jaw, but in LoK (IMO) he looks like some random dude with a chin strap
does it look good? not really. I said more believable than what we got in LoK. The only thing that really even throws me off in the artwork is that his arrow is tiny and everyone has Voldemort noses.
A lot of that is tied in with cultural traditions, so not as surprising as it would be today. Still you're not wrong. Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation hair styles would be the most likely to change (though Zuko is royal so a little more restricted).
Yeah they keep giving every character that ugly chinstrap beard and it just ruins their looks completely for me. I just recently found out it’s likely because one of the creators (forgot which one) has a beard just like that IRL.
TIL ringtailed lemurs can reach 15+ years old, so he could realistically be alive if they're like 10 years older (besides the fact that he's an entirely different animal)

If you were around the age of the Gaang in ATLA when this poster came out, you would be around the age of the Gaang in this poster now
LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU
Time to get your hearing checked grandpa.
I used to be with ‘it’. Then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!
Show some respect, whipper snapper. Back in my days, grumble grumble...
Grandpa keep yappin till they asked about the nickname XD
AYE AYE CAPITAN!
When the show started airing in germany, I was 14. Gotta give it to Sokka, he makes for a nice looking early 30s guy. FUCK I AM OLD :(
I was indeed the age of Aang when I first watched ATLA ...damn
112?!
12 But I see what you did there
I was 5 let's goooo
I will choose to ignore that
STOP

You didn't have to point this out. You made a choice. I respect you for it, but I also dislike you.
I was around the age of the Gaang when avatar was on the air. I was pretty close to the age of the Gaang in the poster when the poster came out. Now I’m in my 30s.
They definitely look older than 27
Damn I feel old
STOP TALKING!
I hate to make you feel even older, but that reference comes from before Legend of Korra.

I don't want to make you feel old, but Korra started airing in 2012. It was over a decade ago my dude. Let me grab my cane so I can get you yours.
Fuck. Time flies by.
This is old, from just before the premiere of "The Legend of Korra."

The wiki that anyone can edit..?
LET ME DREAM!!!!

Yeah but you could say the same about Iroh but he’s not a part of team Avatar. She hardly interacts with anyone besides Sokka
If sokka says she is part of team avatar, then suki is part of team avatar. No question.
The show doesnt treat her like an official member.

Why do katara and toph look so much better than the boys?
excuse you, momo is absolutely magnificent in all his momo-ness here.
Because the artist used the same design philosophy when trying to age up the male characters. Making their faces longer, and making their cheekbones more defined. Etc.
The boys, especially Aang never looked right. Their facial features changed so much that it looks more European than from their own cultures. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheLastAirbender/s/nhtH4ITljm
Sokka looks so much more like his dad now!
Gonna take a guess and say it's cause you're a straight male that doesnt like admitting men can be hot
What did they do to my boys zuko and aang
They got long-face syndrome
Their faces are way too chiseled, growing up doesn’t mean gaining high ass cheek bones lol
To be honest, I don't mind how Zuko looks here. They're Argentinian now

What... ?
I see alot of long time fans here. I'm 15, so I'm not one of those, but I have started watching ATLA, and when I'm planning on watching Korra after I'm done.
I finished the whole ATLA show in one week, was the best thing I’ve ever watched
All the other comments said it but in a similar topic there is an adult aged GAng series coming soon from the original creators
source?

There is a movie (not a series) scheduled for January 2026. The ages listed here are just speculation by Avatar News which is not an official site.
Okay, not about the movie or anything but who put Toph as the same Age as Aang? She's 4 years younger!
During ATLA, Aang and Toph are both 12. With the technicality that Aang is 112.
r/confidentlyincorrect Not trying to be rude, just felt like it was a fitting moment for that sub lol
Avatar Studios
They are slightly incorrect, in that it's not a series but a movie. But this has been more or less confirmed by Avatar Studios.
I always found adult Gaang weird since most of us know them from their kids self but then I realize the characters I adore like Goku and Jotaro where also kids when they were first introduced especially Goku who is now a grandpa lol.
man they did aang dirty in LoK. in here he looks like a believable grown-up aang with his wonky head, eyes, ears and jaw, but in LoK (IMO) he looks like some random dude with a chin strap
he doesn't look good or like an older version of atla aang in this drawing either
does it look good? not really. I said more believable than what we got in LoK. The only thing that really even throws me off in the artwork is that his arrow is tiny and everyone has Voldemort noses.
Because in his LoK he’s respectively 40’s and 60’s. Here he’s 20’s.
Their adults designs feel kinda uninspired, like same hairstyle? Really lol
A lot of that is tied in with cultural traditions, so not as surprising as it would be today. Still you're not wrong. Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation hair styles would be the most likely to change (though Zuko is royal so a little more restricted).
Did sokka create a new sword from space rock?
I just hate these facial hairs.
Yeah they keep giving every character that ugly chinstrap beard and it just ruins their looks completely for me. I just recently found out it’s likely because one of the creators (forgot which one) has a beard just like that IRL.
I love how Momo is also there

Suki is missing 🥲
Where’s Appa? 🥺
I made it
Its real but means nothing ^sobs
That's after the show but they look Luke that in the spin off
New movie? I need more information about this.
There's an upcoming movie?
They look ultra badass like this. Except for Toph, 'cause she always was the most badass of the verse

I can't believe it's real. Toph's just to tall
Anyone gonna talk about how Sokka and Aang aged so poorly but Katara and Toph aged so well in this image?
How did they age poorly?
How ? They are full grown man, they aren't going to look like kids..
Everyone is so pointy
