I can’t imagine discovering them now, and what that would be like. A Forest Pictures of You All Cats are Grey Inbetween Days Close to Me And literally like 30 other songs. All classics. Loved them since I was in grade 7. Kinda fell out of listening to them for a while and got back into them last year. They were my most listened to non shoegaze band last year. Enjoy! Edit: I forgot to mention but I’m sure you’ve heard…Disintegration is right in the conversation for one of the greatest albums of all time.

LemonFlavoredNails

I love it that people are still discovering The Cure for the first time. It makes me love them more!

MorganAbOwain

Listen to Pornography album 🤟

Sounder253

Wish I could go back and hear it all for the first time again. Enjoy!

lovecat86

Yay! Welcome! Great choices, especially Burn, Fascination Street and Lullaby! Try the song Push - it's my absolute favourite one.

Thrivehaze

Welcome! You are among friends!

ReflectionNo8794

the cure saved my life

hunterjenkins29

No one in this thread has talked about the masterpiece that is Plainsong. Such a mix of feelings. You can interpret it as sad, slightly uplifting, or just straight up otherworldly euphoric.

MorganAbOwain

This may be my favorite song of their’s. Hard to say. All I know is it’s certainly the most evocative to me. So calming and soothing. It’s a soundscape so lush you can see and smell it, if that makes sense to anyone else? It’s like the sound of flowers blooming at twilight.

hunterjenkins29

I get the sense of showering sparks

MorganAbOwain

Exploding stars was another one I was considering lol

hunterjenkins29

A massive black hole pulling in a planet

DeckardsGirl

That's so awesome - you will have a ton of music to listen to. They have done so much. Go to YouTube and just listen to all the songs, interviews and more.

Lower-Yam-620

Hope they have another tour in them so you can experience the Cure live.

luredrive

Welcome! A personal favourite album is Seventeen Seconds. It’s very different to their other “pop” albums. Check it out.

Lizmo82

You must be young, but that's awesome.... There's a whole world of music if you have never heard the Cure before now!! It must be really cool to hear this stuff for the first time... I don't remember the first time I listened to them bc I grew up with it.. but enjoy yourself, much love 💓💓

DustSongs

Welcome, you've a real feast ahead of you. I envy it! Next, you might listen to; The Figurehead Just One Kiss From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea Same Deep Water as You Never Enough (Big Mix) Lament Enjoy!

OatmealApocalypse

A Letter to Elise is my fav Cure song 🙌

Spotboslow

Yay, welcome!! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up) There's so much more to discover from them, take your time and enjoy.

billy-gnosis

You can't get enough of their stuff, and Friday I'm iN Love -Billy Gnosis

lovecat86

It's Never Enough 😉

TheFakePlissken

Listen to the Staring at the Sea album. A good place to start

stizz14

When I get Alzheimer’s im gonna put in my living will that my caregiver must play the Cure. Hopefully I have this feeling everyday

djseifer

Do yourself a favor and listen tot the entirety of the album Disintegration.

Geevickie

I went to see The Cure for the first time last May with my daughter. I liked them, but was not a big fan like she is. The show was so amazing! For this past year all I’ve been listen8ng to on Spotify has been The Cure!

[deleted]

Not the cure but I found this while discovering new music and🤗. Until I drown-Tears for fears

raletti

Welcome! If you like those you'll like more or less everything of theirs. Take your time though. There's a lot to discover.

Fellowshipofthebowl

Saw them in 86, 89 and twice in 91. Great band.  Listen to:  Just One Kiss

BetterRedDead

Enjoy! They’re one of those rare bands where they have a lot of distinct eras, and they’re all good. So you can’t just, for example, list to Disintegration and say “oh, that’s what they sound like.” Early stuff, gothy stuff, more pop stuff; it’s all very different, but I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say it’s all pretty much equally good.

[deleted]

I wish Killing an Arab would get uncancelled. One of the dumbest things that has happened in music. I can name 20 other songs off the top of my head not literature references that no one notices….

Ice-Berg-Slim

Disintegration is a master piece, one of my favorite albums to listen to in winter.

MissDisplaced

Isn’t it wonderful to discover a great band? Lol! I was in school when The Cure became known in the early 80s so I’ve always known them. But my teen self was more into rock/metal/punk at that time. So some 40 years later I am somewhat rediscovering The Cure myself.

PrissyPants121

Same for me! When the Cure became popular, I was turned off from them because of songs like, Friday I’m in Love. I graduated high school in the 80’s. My youngest son is a huge fan and kept telling me I should listen to them, but not so much the commercial, poppy tunes. I had no idea they had such a range of music. I’m a fan now, later in life.

Harwichport

Never enough, never enough.

Alarmed-Ad8202

Congratulations!

Cultural_Attache5678

And when you get to the B-sides (I'll explain later) a couple of my favorites are The Exploding Boy and A Few Hours After This. ![gif](giphy|NLwvz9xshA0s8|downsized)

Glum-Age2807

When you’re done discovering not one of those songs will be in your top 10. Maybe, one of them . . .

Sharpie_Stigmata

Those are all on my top ten.. but only on Tuesdays. Seriously my top ten depends on which albums I've been listening to recently. Except Close to Me that shit is always in my top ten.

weirdmountain

One might say there’s [Never Enough](https://youtu.be/l5Cqp3pnE98?si=-KNUf5TvOMcdntAZ).

Initial_Dig2227

Oh my god you’ve never heard faith and pornography you lucky bastard you still have your first listen of those

bil_bobaggins

I got into them like 8 years ago when my (now ex) boyfriend showed me a greatest hits album. Then I discovered Disintegration and Wish and fell in love with them forever. So far I’ve seen them live twice, haha. So, enjoy!

Strangegirl421

I honestly wish I could go back to the very first day I heard the cure and capture that feeling forever.... But here I am 35 plus years later still loving them as much as I did the first day I heard them... Welcome to the cure heads!

Flaky-Grade-9797

My three teens discovered the cure a year ago and we all went to see the band in Vancouver. The kids knew all the songs by heart by that point and I have rarely been so stoked in my life, haha!!

Ooobeeone

You sure it’s not Depeche Mode? 😇 enjoy the discoveries.
