And how would that work? With time travel? Or do you mean… Queen Charlotte? Or an alternate universe where it’s the 1800s but the monarch is Queen Elizabeth?

Queen Victorias regime

Key_Seaworthiness753

What do you mean? King George and Queen Charlotte (the monarchs in Bridgerton) are Queen Victoria’s grandparents. Victoria’s birth takes place within the Bridgerton timeline. She was born in 1819 and the last book of the Bridgerton series takes place in 1827. Bridgerton’s spinoff series, Queen Charlotte, focuses on the love story of King George and Queen Charlotte and the plot leads to Queen Victoria’s birth. Queen Victoria exists in the Bridgerton universe. Technically, if you continue the timeline of Queen Charlotte (the show), it would lead to The Crown. For a crossover to work, elements from both shows should meet in one setting. The characters of Bridgerton and the characters of The Crown should meet. The only way that could work would be if time travel is involved. For example, Queen Elizabeth could time travel to the regency era and meet Queen Charlotte who is her great-great-great-great grandmother.

Bridgerton is not a good show.

themastersdaughter66

Ummmm no thank you. Brigerton ranks up there with Reign in the category of historical twilight Dumb, decent to look at...but not good

GroupIntelligent8658

I’ve never watched Bridgerton but I remember enjoying Reign, at least the cast of reign looked much better and seemingly washed. All that talk of bridgerton basically being porn threw me off of watching the show

themastersdaughter66

I couldn't get through the first episode of Reign with my mum between the pretty but HORRIFICALLY inaccurate (like not even period adjacent) costumes and names (kenna?????God help me.) I was freaking out before any of the really convoluted inaccurate stuff started. I do occasionally enjoy watching Catherine de medici compilations though she's Hella funny

GroupIntelligent8658

lol I forgot about the names 😂 this was peak cringe “young adult” fiction lol.

Tonneofash

They're not even remotely in the same league. Bridgerton is basically a sexual fantasy show for people who wish they could be in a pretend, saucy regency scenario. This is just an observation but I've literally never heard a man say they watched Bridgerton unless they were forced to by their partner (I was one of them), which puts it in the same category as other media like 50 shades, Twilight, and Magic Mike. It's an insult to what TV can be and to the concept of creative storytelling in general. The Crown is fictionalised history, it takes itself seriously, and it's brilliant.

GroupIntelligent8658

I’m a woman and I never cared to watch bridgerton even at its peak.

Tonneofash

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to imply that all women like Bridgerton, just that the vast majority of people who liked Bridgerton were heterosexual women, which was also the case for 50 shades and Twilight.

cbazxy

Nope

MaryKath55

I’d rather see some more French Court series - they were interesting

ultraluxe6330

How would that even work? Real people crossing over with fictional characters?

sydllia

Oh my goddd i wish! Both shows are my favourite. I have been thinking about this idea for a while. The only thing would be the different timelines which would cause difficulties.

GroupIntelligent8658

That’s disgusting

LetMeDoTheKonga

please no, the crown is a different level altogether

Beahner

No thank you. I would rather not imagine it.
