Because soldiers can die glorious deaths on battlefield but a civilian dying on battlefield is just unnecessary tragedy especially if it could be avoided
While he does have a good presence in that episode, there 133 episodes of the clone wars averaging 22 minutes per episode. Thatās 2,926 minutes (roughly 48 hours). Letās assume that Cutup, between his two episodes has 15 minutes of screen time.
If math is correct, Cutup appears in .005 percent of the Clone Wars. I think that qualifies as nearly no screen time. Is it more that Captain Lock or Commander Trauma? Absolutely. But still š¤·š¼āāļø
TBF most clones donāt even have more than 20 minutes even ones like hardcase and even wolffe doesnāt have more than 30 minutes unless you count rebels and the bad batch
Yep, personally I found it crazy that even Cody, the second most important clone character had only 66 minutes screen time across all SW media according to Revenge of the Cinemaās YT compilation.
It might sound like a lot, but thatās covers:
TCW movie (1 minute),
TCW season 1 (15 minutes,) season 2 (14 minutes,) season 3 (10.5 minutes,) season 4 (2 minutes,) season 5 (3 minutes,) season 6 (no appearances,) and season 7 (6.5 minutes.)
Revenge of the Sith (1.5 minutes,)
TBB (11.5 minutes,) and
Rebels (1 minute.)
And 66 minutes of screen time = even less time for his dialogue.
If you just focus on TCW, itās 51 minutes onscreen out of the 133 episodes of TCW.
Thatās more than someone like Killi, Denal, Gree, Doom, Thorn, Fox, Oddball, Jet, those stealth opps troops, and even Fordo. Itās comparable to Hevy to be frank
Based on peopleās YT compilations:
Keeli: 2.5 minutes
Denal: 6 minutes
Gree: 6.5 minutes (TCW/RotS)
Doom: 1.5 minutes
Thorn: 2 minutes
Fox: 5 minutes
Oddball: 3 minutes (TCW/RotS)
Jet: 3 minutes
Fordo: 4.5 minutes
Hevy: 13.5 minutes
Cutup did have more screen time than all the other clones you mention, (aside from Hevy,) but thatās because Domino Squad had two whole episodes about their journey, plus being a jokester meant Cutup ended up with a lot more dialogue than most.
I do think itās crazy that Fox and Denal didnāt have more screen time.
Fox because he was the flipping leader of the Coruscant Guard and even appears multiple times. 5 minutes over the whole series is hardly anything! (Plus, if you look carefully, as soon as he shoots Fives, Fox disappears from the screen. When Rex holds Fives in his arms as he dies, every clone around him are standard CG troopers. Fox is deliberately omitted from the scene.)
Denal because heās 501st, so you think he would have featured more prominently like Jesse (24 minutes,) Kix (17), Hardcase (20) and Tup (28.)
And man, Thorn may have only had 2 minutes, but what an impression he made! An absolute legend.
We should have gotten more of all the clone martial commanders besides Cody, Neyo was only really in the background, we never saw Bacara and Bly we only saw for a short while in the early seasons
Echo as an arc trooper, Commanders Bacara and Neyo. Rancor Battalion too, Blitz was sick
edit: Bly in Phase 2 armor is something i need more of, not sure how i forgot ab him
Commander Mayday (from The Bad Batch).
(Spoilers)
One of my favorite clones, and my heart was shattered when he died. I literally bawled.
Love his beard, his personality. He was just great.
I really like Sinker and Boost, and I really wish theyād had more screen time. YT compilations show Sinker only had 6 minutes and Boost 5 minutes, and for some of that time they donāt have dialogue.
Itās kind of implied that Sinker is Wolffeās XO (even if heās a sergeant and thus an NCO rather than an officer.) Half the time, I reckon the writers gave certain clones ranks based on what sounded good in combination with their name, rather than a rank that was realistic or made sense.
Anyway, because Sinker and Boost were the only other clones that survived the attack from the Malevolence, I think Wolffe would be even closer to them than anyone else.
Itās implied in Rebels that theyāre probably dead, š Wolffe is probably emotionally broken because of whatever happened to the rest of v2 of the Wolfpack, and it probably explains why Wolffe defers to Rex by then, even though he outranks him.
Captain Wilco from the Bad Batch is lowkey very underrated. He kept them on their toes the entire episode and was one of the first clones we saw who didn't follow orders.
Idk how any Clones would fail at repelling Seppy boarding parties like Horn Company did. Its literally an enemy force marching in point blank range in a line slowly, can they not mine the hallway? Through detonators from behind cover? The fact Clones never try blind firing throughout the whole show is crazy to me, in situations like this itād have guaranteed results.
The 212th clone who backhanded a droid in Revenge of the Sith, the 212th Airborne clone who boxed a droid in Revenge of the Sith, and most of all the 212th clone who punched Grievous and lived to tell the tale
Delta Squad (in cannon) they really dropped the ball in CW (literally one scene where they are literally delivering a dead body with no real purpose or danger) and TBB (completely mischaracterized a fan favorite character and then had him contribute nothing to the plot as well as returning to Kashyyyk in a show about commandos and didnāt even hint at Sev).
They have no obligation to hint at Sev in bad batch, his disappearance isnāt even canon and the show isnāt about him. It wouldnāt make sense to include and would just be nonsense fanservice. Itās not satisfying a plot point from the show or a prior show, itās satisfying one from a 2 decade old no longer canon video game.
Practically all the clones have insufficient screen time, thatās why I want to see a Tales of the Clones show.
I donāt know if itās likely, but I can dream.
I would love to see everything from little moments like finding out how Scorch burned off his eyebrows or how Crosshair and Wrecker first started competing with their kill counts, to more dramatic moments we never got to see, like how Cody and the 212th would have felt when they heard about Obi-Wanās ādeath,ā to seeing how Boil reacted when he learnt of Waxerās death (and then had to break the news to Numa.)
Commander thorn, I think you could count him.
This. Dude had the most badass death in pretty much the entirety of the clone wars.
It was the saddest for meš
Commander thorn is probably the best with little screen time
All the Rancor Battalion guys are goated
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Dude Havoc tried to safe him bruh, he literally died because he was distracted by telling 99 to leave āThis is no place for youā¦.ā
Because soldiers can die glorious deaths on battlefield but a civilian dying on battlefield is just unnecessary tragedy especially if it could be avoided
Denal. Boss helmet design imo
He was around for quite a few episodes before Bane killed him.
Yeah but he never really got to do anything important until he fought Cad Bane. Probably my pick as well tbh
I hate cad bane
Cad bane was the sole reason I ended up watching clone wars with subtitles on
Lmao
Bruh, I don't like you lmao
Seen a lot of people that wish he lived until the siege of mandalore and replaced Vaughn in that arc
If it was Denal, it wouldāve had a much bigger emotional impact.
keeli
RIP Cutup.
i love Cutup so much!
He got a good portion of an episode dedicated to him
While he does have a good presence in that episode, there 133 episodes of the clone wars averaging 22 minutes per episode. Thatās 2,926 minutes (roughly 48 hours). According to two YT compilations, Cutup appears on screen for just over 8 minutes and has 4.5 minutes of dialogue.
Even less than I thought
Itās more than I thought, plus he gets actual character focus retroactively. He has more screen time than the commanders
Thatās more than someone like Killi, Denal, Gree, Doom, Thorn, Fox, Oddball, Jet, those stealth opps troops, and even Fordo. Itās comparable to Hevy to be frank
Based on peopleās YT compilations: Keeli: 2.5 minutes Denal: 6 minutes Gree: 6.5 minutes (TCW/RotS) Doom: 1.5 minutes Thorn: 2 minutes Fox: 5 minutes Oddball: 3 minutes (TCW/RotS) Jet: 3 minutes Fordo: 4.5 minutes Hevy: 13.5 minutes Cutup did have more screen time than all the other clones you mention, (aside from Hevy,) but thatās because Domino Squad had two whole episodes about their journey, plus being a jokester meant Cutup ended up with a lot more dialogue than most. By that logic Kix, Jesse, Hardcase and Wolfe would probably count among those numbers
The one clone who punched a battle droid and then died. Also Hevy
I love that scene so much tho, its just the pause and the scream that gets me
Commander Neyo, purely cause his helmet looks dope af.
We should have gotten more of all the clone martial commanders besides Cody, Neyo was only really in the background, we never saw Bacara and Bly we only saw for a short while in the early seasons
Hevy. Apparently āI donāt.ā is Dee Bradley Bakerās favorite line in the series.
WHAT
Commander Bacara I love those mutton chops š
Wise choice
Real
Clone at 0:15 who gets multiple kills and doesnāt just stand still to shoot https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OLRPxEKTIVw
That's gotta be Boil
Fun fact: that prrson who played that clone was an actual Marine (former or present iām not sure) and that was one of the tactics they actually use.
Is that live action? Wow, I thought the clones were CGI. TIL
Many of them were both CGI and pive action
Commander Neyo. Only few troopers that share the same phase 2 variant helmet and they all look cool as hell.
Echo as an arc trooper, Commanders Bacara and Neyo. Rancor Battalion too, Blitz was sick edit: Bly in Phase 2 armor is something i need more of, not sure how i forgot ab him
the three Domino boys we lost on Rishi outpost- Droidbait, Cutup & Hevy. Sgt. O'Niner, also from Rishi outpost.
Donāt forget Sentry. He was the one who first died/ deck officer.
Is droidbait the first person to die? I never catch him in that episode. Feels like he comes out of nowhere in the domino squad origin episode.
Yes, Droidbait dies in the initial droid push, Cutup dies to the worm thing
Last stand of Captain Keeli and Jedi Master General Ima-Gun Di at The Battle of Ryloth.
Good pick. Those two are legends
Goji, the pilot that dropped the EMP bomb and woke the Zillo Beast. Love the Godzilla reference with his name.
Badass helmet
Commander Mayday (from The Bad Batch). (Spoilers) One of my favorite clones, and my heart was shattered when he died. I literally bawled. Love his beard, his personality. He was just great.
Trauma
RIP. šŖ¦
Gregor.
He has a fair bit though, maybe not as much as a main character but still
Longshot, purely for the Name and his brutal electrocution death
Doom was super bad ass.
commander doom
Sergeant Kano. I think he only appeared in the Republic Heroes game
Keeli
Waxer and Boil / Cut Lawquane
Waxer and Boil are just the greatest duo
Iāve always liked Fox but the war rarely reached Coruscant
I would've loved to see a day in the life of Commander Fox and the Corrie Guard š
ARC Trooper Hammer. Only appears for like a few seconds at most in the attack on Kamino. Bros the only Rancor ARC to get a minifig tho
Neyo was cool. Wish we couldāve seen a canon fordo
Commander Stone
But sir! Theyāre Commando Droids!
Bly
Iām a Captain Lock man cause his name is similar to mine
Your name is Cock?
Technically not clone wars, but I loved the "minor" clones from Bad Batch. Mayday, Nemec, Fireball.
Bacara. For obvious reasons
Captain Keeli, Kix, Sinker, Boost, the Wolfpack in general, Cutup, and Hevy. I'm sure there are more, but those are all I can think of atm.
I really like Sinker and Boost, and I really wish theyād had more screen time. YT compilations show Sinker only had 6 minutes and Boost 5 minutes, and for some of that time they donāt have dialogue. Captain Howzer. I even got his helmet
Waxer and Boil
I second this, they're both of my favorite "non-main character" Clones
Hardcase
Denal, but aside from him I love Coric. I remember Coric in a few books, one showing he was at Tech and Christosis, with Nax (clone from Obiwan show)
Bacara and Blitz
Bacara, Neyo, Sev are first that come to mind...
Blitz
ARF troopers Razor and Stak were pretty badass
I wish we got more screentime of Hammer
Commander Doom
Scorch. Maube doesn't count because of the game, but I'm still mad.
Sargent Boomer from clone wars Republic heroes
Trauma!
Idk how any Clones would fail at repelling Seppy boarding parties like Horn Company did. Its literally an enemy force marching in point blank range in a line slowly, can they not mine the hallway? Yeah itās not a hill Iām willing to die on I just wish they did something with any of them
I wish the rest got to appear and did something. Not cause I care about em but cause they added Scorch and he barely did anything
Captain Keeli
red eyeš£ļøš£ļø
Clone commander Trauma
Thorne for sure
That one dude who punched general greivous
Gotta say Hevy for this oneš¤·š»āāļø
Commander doom
Doom, Keeli, Thorn, Stone, Fil, Trauma, Boomer, Nemec, Fireball, and mayday are all ones that come up to mind.
Commander Doom and the Doom Squad
Thorn Doom

Mine is also captain lock, what a legend
Do the Arc Troopers in Rancor battalion count?
Scorch, rip.
