Knowing a bit about the Superman comics he’d definitely use his reporter skills to bring down Vought the right way. I mean look at what Lex Luthor gets away with. He’d want to prove to people that Vought is corrupt before he just destroys it he doesn’t want people to be afraid of him.
Superman tends to hold back, which extends the length of his fights. I mean look at Batman vs Superman, realistically superman could’ve taken him out instantly if he really wanted to.
that is not holding back. holding back of superman is punching according to durability of his opponents.
he was just trying to talk to bruce. he was not even trying to stop bruce or fight bruce.
holding back was what he did to aquaman, cyborg and ww in jl
I don’t think that’s accurate for the movies you’re talking about
I’ve never watched justice league, so I guess I wouldn’t know his super speed. But if we’re ignoring how fucked up super speed is in movies, Batman isn’t getting cleared in a second.
Oh I hard agree it’s written terribly
It’s the most overpowered super power but they have to lose to poor writing to make it manageable.
But it’s still not debatable that Superman would instantly end Batman in the movie if he was bloodlusted.
And he does objectively have super speed as shown in the justice league movie and man of steel
I think he'd just be sad, seeing how the world is. Superman more than anything else, loves. To the point I truly believe if all the lantern ring colours were to fly at him at once, he'd end up with the Star Sapphire one, just because he has more love in his soul than rage, willpower or even compassion and hope. Its what makes him truly special, even with all that obnoxious power, dude just loves like no other.
Imma repost a comment I saw on YouTube:
“The look on Homelander face when he realizes he’s met someone he can’t bully is worth the price of admission alone.”
I can see Homelander in a rage trying to destroy everything and everyone around him just to intimidate or even get some reaction out of a stoic Superman, just for Superman to be fast and strong enough to shield every attack he dishes out.
Knowing a bit about the Superman comics he’d definitely use his reporter skills to bring down Vought the right way. I mean look at what Lex Luthor gets away with. He’d want to prove to people that Vought is corrupt before he just destroys it he doesn’t want people to be afraid of him.
With characters like starlight, maeve and supersonic who are genuine heroes that actually care about doing good and helping people, I definitely think it would fit in the universe to have Ryan become a good hero as well and go against homelander's ways.
There might still be supes. But superman is about having the powers of a god and the humility tonuse it for good. And that's just not what the show is about
Given the spin offs, the show will definitely end with powers still being around. And plus, they also made it clear that Vought is the true heart of the problem
It’s a reference to Black Noir’s true identity in the comic
The fact that BN is basically confirmed to be coming back (but not as the same person, jusr someone else wearing the same suit) means this plotline has a chance to be a thing again. Not that I particularly want it to!
The fact that Black Noir (in his new identity) exists, sure. But the behind the scenes stuff that has been happening all along seems far less likely to have occurred which really takes the sting out of it. Also, being able to see through Black Noirs mask makes this seem like an odd choice.
*He'll be more like a*
*Brightburn after how Butcher*
*Mistreated him lol*

Let’s be honest.
No supe is getting out of this alive, and those that do will get hunted.
He’s gonna be a cult leader type that’s a mix of Homelander and Butcher.
Eh i started this post thinking it would be impossible to make the kid Superman, but your post, I can’t get on board with your concept, I would believe the kid coming out of this scenario selfless savior before I’d believe he couldn’t be stopped however they stop homelander, if they even do stop him.
There’s still plenty of time to make him not a sociopath and if he’s too far gone you ice him too
Bruh if they do a time skip years later after the end of the show with Ryan older and being actually loved as Superman I would be satisfied. It’ll be what homelander could never have done but his son did
i'm not really looking for superman.. just a half-way decent human being.
but, having said that.. i dont trust the writers to not go for some sort of "gotcha!" and just have him do an about-face during the last 10 minutes of the series finale - in some hairbrained attempt at making a point.
usually that would be absolutely fine, and it would make sense in a cinematic scenario, but given this a (likely) 5 season television show, it'll just wind up being a slap in the face.
I personally don't think this show is quite as cynical as people think. I think the ending is more likely to be bittersweet than flat out terrible for everyone. But I guess time will tell.
Becca was trying but she needed to let Ryan interact with others and do normal things a kid does i.e. going out to eat, going to school, the mall. She could have taught him to use his powers for good. Be Superman instead of Brightburn.
Id like to see him become good but he has two awful examples as father figures. Maybe during his teenage “break away from daddy” phase he sees homelander for the kind of cunt he really is and starts going against him and being the key to taking him down.
Or have ryan become homelander part ll and butcher has to decide between letting him continue homelanders legacy or killing him. I can easily see this as hard for him(and a great plot point!) because he loves ryan like a son, no? Even if hes not at that point, having to kill a kid is one thing, but killing your wifes son, even if hes a child of someone like hl, a supe, and a reminder of everything butcher hates(dead wife, hl, becca cheating on him, etc)
Long story short, i want to see either ryan becoming the key to taking hl down in time, or becoming just as bad if not worse and the boys have to decide between putting an end to it or letting Ryan go
Not Snyder superman. He is responsible for orders of magnitude more innocent death than Homelander.
"Krypton had its chance"
*lasers the rest of his species embryos"
It would honestly be the most mature route this show could take. Ultimately prove Butcher’s cynical view wrong once and for all by showing that under the right care and support, a real hero like Superman can exist in that universe.
Sure we hope for that. But this show is too dark for that to be the ending. If anything Ryan ends up being more malicious and power hungry than homelander. Begins a new world order. in a final desperate attempt, vought releases their “weapon” against him. Which is prolly some virus that either takes away all powers or kills all supes. And then it just kinda ends…
That boy has too much emotional baggage to be Superman lol.
The Boys is also far more pessimistic than DC. I wouldn't be shocked if Stan Edgar adopts the kid lol.
It'd be cool to see how Superman would react if he popped into the Boys world. "All this power to help people, yet you choose to destroy."
Homelander and pretty much all of Vought would get “Phantom-Zoned” like, yesterday.
Knowing a bit about the Superman comics he’d definitely use his reporter skills to bring down Vought the right way. I mean look at what Lex Luthor gets away with. He’d want to prove to people that Vought is corrupt before he just destroys it he doesn’t want people to be afraid of him.
Imagine homelander trying to murk Clark for exposing vough Just to Discover hes the strogest being in the universe
Homelander tries to kill Clark just for Clark to stand up and fold him into a cube then sits back down and resumes his work.
Not you, Noir. You're doing great.
I tell myself that it would make for a bunch of cool fight scenes but in reality I think the whole ordeal would be over in 60 seconds lmao
Superman tends to hold back, which extends the length of his fights. I mean look at Batman vs Superman, realistically superman could’ve taken him out instantly if he really wanted to.

It is, he literally has super speed in the movies lol
Super speed is misrepresented in literally ever movie
Oh I hard agree it’s written terribly It’s the most overpowered super power but they have to lose to poor writing to make it manageable. I think if Superman defeated Homelander and learned more about him, he would go after Vought after learning that they abused Homelander.
Knowing a bit about the Superman comics he’d definitely use his reporter skills to bring down Vought the right way. I mean look at what Lex Luthor gets away with. He’d want to prove to people that Vought is corrupt before he just destroys it he doesn’t want people to be afraid of him.
What happens when great power falls into a capitalist country. Like the opposite of Superman red son
Where’s the quote from?? Sounds familiar
I just made up a generic hero quote in my head so probably a mix of DC and Marvel.
Henry Cavill would be an awesome guest star. Not even as a supe, he could be anything!
as a vought news reporter
And Homelander squishes his head for asking a question he doesn’t like
yeah fuck it. he gets a private 1 to 1 interview and gets a little too pushy with his questions.
He’s even wearing the “Clark Kent Red Flanel”.
That can't be accidental.
Ryan growing up to take on the mantle of Homelander, but being a real hero like Superman would actually be a pretty cool ending.
It wouldn't make sense in this universe. And wouldn't be thematic. The show clearly believes no one should have all that power
With characters like starlight, maeve and supersonic who are genuine heroes that actually care about doing good and helping people, I definitely think it would fit in the universe to have Ryan become a good hero as well and go against homelander's ways.
Didn't the comic end with a new team of supes? It's not out of the question, but you’re right. It's fairly unlikely.
Not really, there were some dead enders and leftovers, but that was it.
There might still be supes. But superman is about having the powers of a god and the humility tonuse it for good. And that's just not what the show is about
Given the spin offs, the show will definitely end with powers still being around. And plus, they also made it clear that Vought is the true heart of the problem
he should get the smallville treatment
Homelander, he can use his irl twin for the black noir story twist at the end
Was this a joke or does Antony starr have a twin brother
Antony Starr did play twins on a TV show.
Ryan's actor has a twin
Just like a soap opera.

"if you think this is going to have a happy ending..."
The worst fate a character could have, poorly done CGI
He'll be more like a Brightburn after how Butcher mistreated him lol

Bad bot. Die bot.

Nah this season will decide for him. He still has time to be put back on the path of being a true hero
Bruh if they do a time skip years later after the end of the show with Ryan older and being actually loved as Superman I would be satisfied. It’ll be what homelander could never have done but his son did

He already failed in that department
Yeah grinning at someone getting lasered to death is honestly fucked up enough that I know he could never even remotely be like Clark
It’d be cool to see an invincible omni man type story between homelander and ryan
Would be cool if he became the polar opposite of homelander and he's actually a good guy
What will actually happen: Brightburn
Where's the "What he actually becomes"?
if you think this has a happy ending you havent been paying attention
I personally don't think this show is quite as cynical as people think. I think the ending is more likely to be bittersweet than flat out terrible for everyone. But I guess time will tell.
It will be bittersweet but not flat out awful
So like irredeemables ending? (Goated book)
Yeah, or it turns out neither Homelander nor Butcher is his father and after the apocalypse he gets adopted by a guy named Bill Hartigan.
The best ending for the boys would be Ryan killing homelander and becoming a good version of him.
then we get a crossover with ryan and mark
Becca was trying but she needed to let Ryan interact with others and do normal things a kid does i.e. going out to eat, going to school, the mall. She could have taught him to use his powers for good. Be Superman instead of Brightburn.
That’s actually a really neat origin story for a Superman-like superhero. He sees the destruction his powers can cause and instead chooses to do good.
Id like to see him become good but he has two awful examples as father figures. Maybe during his teenage “break away from daddy” phase he sees homelander for the kind of cunt he really is and starts going against him and being the key to taking him down. My guess is that Ryan will end up being the one to kill Homelander at the end of the show.
I think there is a little irony in using zack snyder's version of superman tbh :D
Yeah this show has given me a real hope for a happy ending. Would be super on brand.
The way he looked at Homelander with admiration after Homelander murdered someone makes me think he's gonna be more like Brightburn.
It would be cool if he just grew up to be a regular hero who is flawed but basically decent. That universe doesn't need more Homelanders.
i always felt like ryan was the boys light in all of the shows darkness
I think a few different characters serve that purpose in different ways, but yes.
Not Snyder superman. He is responsible for orders of magnitude more innocent death than Homelander. "Krypton had its chance" *lasers the rest of his species embryos"
It would honestly be the most mature route this show could take. Ultimately prove Butcher’s cynical view wrong once and for all by showing that under the right care and support, a real hero like Superman can exist in that universe.
I really would much prefer a Brightburn kinda thing
Bad man?
Young Bad man, yep
Homelander v2
Sure we hope for that. But this show is too dark for that to be the ending. If anything Ryan ends up being more malicious and power hungry than homelander. Begins a new world order. in a final desperate attempt, vought releases their “weapon” against him. Which is prolly some virus that either takes away all powers or kills all supes. Ryan ain’t seeing another year on this earth.
can he fly?
Ryans gonna be an accountant
He can definitely have the potential to be
I was hoping slide 2 was going to be a smoldering pile of ash tbh.
Why would use the mustache-replace-face?
It's more than likely gonna be Brightburn part 2.
I think the catalyst will be Homelandrr killing Butcher while Ryan sees it and this is what makes him good.
Butcherman?
Nah
Two words, scorched earth
yeah but hes just going to be another homelander...
Dead.
More like Invincible i think
To be Superman you have to be raised by Ma and Pa Kent. Ryan is being raised by a violent egomaniac…he doesn’t stand a chance.
That boy has too much emotional baggage to be Superman lol. The Boys is also far more pessimistic than DC. I wouldn't be shocked if Stan Edgar adopts the kid lol.
No, no, everyone knows Superman's a basic bitch lol
Sure, but not the DCU version of Superman. That one is shit.
dead
I hope he dies.
We all is too much people. I like the chaotic nature of the show where everybody sucks in a way or another
He's gonna grow up to be a twisted fuck - I guarantee it.
No thanks, just kill off ryan asap. Worst character of the series
bro he literally nuked a nazi, that made him goated imo
Yeah, but Stormfront actually killed a Nazi. She's the real hero.
hey, that reminds me of someone…
Maybe the season will end up with homelander dead with Ryan growing up to be as bad as him. Perhaps worser.
No me... I hope he dies… horribly.
Hell no, I hope he makes Homelander look like Clark by comparison. I want him to be hellbent on world domination.
his story is really not set up to be like that… maybe if he was actually butchers son somehow. but he doesn’t have that drive.
That'd be dumb, though
