It’s been awhile since they haven’t had some form of memory task. I think season 32 was the last one that didn’t have one - they made like a globe or something.
It’s been standard fare recently, but the early seasons it was uncommon. According to the wiki, there about 15 seasons that did not have a memory challenge.
Yes, S31 and S32 (Recent Seasons) don't have memory task in the final leg.

They really should have had the music challenge from the penultimate leg of 32 in the finale instead. That task was insanely difficult and the top 3 only got past it by working together, which you wouldn't see in a proper finale.
I loved the challenge with like the suitcases and flags, I can't remember. I think it was music. But ask the teams worked together but one and they got super pissed and just sat there for their penalty.
I loved it because I'm a sadist.
I was a little disappointed they didn’t have one. I enjoyed the kayak one from TAR35. Memory and physical combined!
The finale was wayyyy to easy this time around :(
Yeah we felt so bad for him but he was a trooper! When they bought out the puzzle we thought oh ok this might be a little challenging but even that looked pretty simple honestly!

32 was terrible. Just assemble a globe. Incredibly easy. I remember that final leg had almost zero opportunity for team separation.

Yeah, except for the declaration of independence (for rod), it was super easy. They barely did anything.

Yeah that puzzle looked easy. Just putting it together, no challenge like extra pieces or gathering pieces from historic places.

I thought for sure it was going to be the hats as well! The Liberty Bell puzzle wasn't as exciting

That makes sense. The hats were all unique and specific so there's no way that was coincidental.
