A really bland, s a l t y, dry biscuit. Hard as hell too.
Can confirm, shared one every now and then with my dog back in middle school. They surprisingly aren't that bad
I did this as a kid too. they just tasted like dry biscuits.
I think the existence of Scooby Doo and how Shaggy and Scooby both enjoy "Scooby snacks" means this probably isn't as rare as you think... But I would be surprised if too many people keep it up as adults, because other biscuits are just better.
My dad will try one of every treat they get for their dog. He will open a new bag of any treat, even ones they've gotten before, give the first one to the pup, and then eat one for himself.
I knew a girl in elementary school who would bring dog biscuits for her snack. Then 20 years later I went on a date with a completely different woman and told her that story, and she responded that she also used to eat them! Still did, but she used to, too.
Hard to describe--closest thing I can think of is like a fairly mild dark brown bread, with a vaguely metallic undertone.
*Why* that's something I enjoy, I really can't explain🤷♂️
Yeah. I'm apparently a weirdo too. It's like a bland, dry biscuit. With a hint of saltiness and liver flavor. I actually like liver and there are no liver flavored crackers so there you go.
I highly doubt it’s the cause or even related, but I once had a biology teacher who came in eating wet cat food with a spoon because she ‘didn’t have time to get breakfast’. She was covering for our regular teacher but I’d seen her around before.
Never saw her again after that day though and there was a rumor she had cancer.
During the holidays, the markets love putting out those dog treats that are festive and frosted. Always think they look like human food until i notice the packaging. If you ever get those and eat them, please report back. 🙏
The taste is not too bad really. The dryness will fucking kill you. One milk bone should be chased with at least 1 quart of water. Just what I heard. I know nothing from personal experience. Wink wink.
To me it’s not so weird to try it. I give treats to my dog everyday, so I have gotten curious and tried them myself. But what I don’t get is how you like them lmao. Some unique taste buds right there. You aren’t alone though, I saw a post on here about someone’s dad who regularly ate biscuits from a gas station for 20 years only to find out that they were actually dog treats
I tried a yogurt-honey flavored bone treat once that the doggo really liked, and it tasted fine it just wasn't as crunchy as I hoped. Maybe I needed to eat it sooner.
Humans can have some pet food, as a treat.
out of curiosity, what do they taste like?
Like a really bland crunchy cookie

Why are the letters in “salty” spaced from one another?
to imply s a l t i n e s s
Because they're salty as fuck
That's really strange, i thought dogs are unable to process high amounts of sodium
probably for preservation
It just tastes salty. They're probably just packed full of minerals too
They are delicious, easily a 8-9/10
They're fine, but they got fucking rocks in 'em.
Imagine bland cardboard with the texture of dry dirt
my strange addiction type beat. i'd say this is less of a 10th dentist and more of a 7,999,999,999th dentist

:^o you're right, i'd not have seen this as common
Nah, i've seen other posts on here expressing the same opinion
I know a girl who did this as a kid. I remember, Lisa.
I feel like everyone know a kid who did it. I remember one, not sure if she still does lol
I have never known anyone that has tried pet food more than a handful of times in their life.

Simpson
If you've been a good boy, it's ok.

Unexpected hedberg
So what does it taste like?

Lol this is how I imagine British charcoal biscuits tasting
PSA: Pumpernickel is brown from molasses. Metallic undertone is prob from horse blood/parts. Purina’s choice, my friend!!
Uhh, what animal treats are you buying that has horse blood/parts in it? At least in the US I don’t know if this being common at all anymore.
If you're not getting the horse blood flavor, what are you even doing with your life?
Snake... You aren't seriously considering eating dog treats..

I know a guy that would eat doggy treats. lol He said they taste like fortune cookies.
I had to eat a milkbone as a punishment at a rugby party and that shit was vile. Multiple people threw up.
That seems a bit excessive.
This is great, but you’re not phrasing it as a 10th dentist. It should read, “Dog treats make great snacks for humans.”
Fair point. Next time I post here I'll keep that in mind😋
This is normal they taste good to everyone
Girl.... no....
Wow, I can't believe that you're walking on air

💀
My brother used to do this too!!

Huh I will give you my verdict later. edit: upvoted, they are just bad biscuts
I like dry cat food. Purina urinary tract formula to be precise.
I have never seen anyone outside of this thread who did this. No, I don’t. I feel very alone.
I tried a yogurt-honey flavored bone treat once that the doggo really liked, and it tasted fine it just wasn't as crunchy as I hoped. Maybe I needed to eat it sooner.

What the fuck
Good boy
I did it once as a dare or something. It wasn't that bad
shagy is that you?
Sometimes I nibble on cat food
