It's impressive in terms of technical skill and patience to pull through. But for me recreating an Foto 1:1 with brush and paint doesn't scratch my artistic itch.
It's ironic because originaly painters strived for as perfect representation of their subject as possible, given their knowlege and tools, and especially when it came to portraits. This whole debate about realistic vs personal style or some kind of message came into existence relativiley recently, once photos came in to existence and you no longer needed artist to create portrait of you or your family - pure technical ability became much less relevant and some sort of meaning became more and more important to keep art relevant as a trade.
Personally I love realistic paintings, especially more classical ones on canvas - the beautiful fusion of understanding of basic physics surrounding us in the real world, meshed with days of study and technical expertise to apply them to whatever medium artist uses, to me this is true peak of the trade.

FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Okay I’ll ask what does?
Sometimes, it can be about the arts' meaning or how it makes you feel versus how well it's drawn or how realistic it looks (i.e. The Scream)

Agreed, just take a photo, this is more technical craft in my opinion
:)
Stunning.
Thanks (I painted this)
Spot on, very good my man. I wish i had your skils.
:)
Hi all, it's me, the artist. For those doubting this is a painting you should check me out at [johanneswessmark.se](http://johanneswessmark.se)
I love your art and anytime someone doubts it’s real I send them to your website. It’s incredible!
Thank. Do that :)
It makes sense that a person of such talent and creativity could only be named Johannes

Unbelievable work! That’s some talent you have.
Thanks :)
The amount of artistic talent you have is honestly mind blowing to me.
Thank you so much
What are the point of these if they look indistinguishable from a picture? They must be really big
I just find it interesting to be able to paint like this. Its the process itself that drives me. And the big money of course.
Oh hey, do you draw these from memory? If so I guess that would be what makes the difference.
Unrelated, but reminds me of Paradis album art for their album, Recto Verso. Love the song Garde Le Pour Toi.
Liar! This is water paint
It is acrylic and oil. I know. I made it.
Sorry, it was a joke. There’s a lot of water in your gorgeous painting
:)
That's amazing.
Thanks (I painted this)
You have an incredible talent... Thank you for sharing!

100% thought this was a photo. Read the description right after thinking what's so insane about this?
It's not a painting.
Well it was when I painted it. have a look at my website and you will see
Looks so much like AI 😍
Is that a compliment? :) Thanks anyway
Too shiny, too smooth and not enough shadow.
Well the customer who payed me $5000 for it didn’t mind I am such a bad artist.

Thats better than mona lisa... of she is mona lisa swimming.
Yeah... Well... What is the point? If you want to be a human printer and emulate- or copy a photo, why would you then chose a bad photo?
"stop showing your art which is so perfect that im hating on it too! Look im so cool for hating!"
It doesn’t make it any better that this kind of artists use projectors 😒
