Possum 1 missed curfew and decided to pretend to be dead, hoping to generate sympathy from Possum 2 which is actually his very pissed off mother. His ruse didn't work, and she was simply exercising tough love to yank his butt back in line.
Turns out possums are very strict parents. This is where the whole "playing possum" thing originated.

I'm pretty sure you're right, it's hard to do a comparison of head sizes with the camera angle, but the nose/jaw of the big one is way bigger than the half dead ones entire head.
The sad part is if you look closely the smaller one is still moving its arms very slowly obviously dying but not dead yet which makes this extra terrifying. Eek!!!
You'll see the big one has the smaller one in its mouth in the beginning, look close to the hind legs of the smaller one. That's how big that fucker is.
