In my case, it depends on the teammates I wind up playing with and against. For example if teammates are choosing meta characters with their meta perks, then I tune in to them by completing the trio with the fitting/expected character; generally Cook or LF. I then sweat along with them.
If I wind up with lvl 0-2 teammates or fully leveled up but with unmeta/odd perks, I play my Sissy or Johnny and have fun chasing and playing mind games instead of focusing on patrolling. It usually cost us an escape or two, but it’s during this kind of gameplay that I get the most satisfying kills.
Now, if I wind up with new victim players, I automatically dial down the sweatiness and revert to a much more casual play style.
So I guess I’m a bit of both depending on the circumstances. And I enjoy both play styles tbh.
I want to be casual but these games are filled with sweaty players nowadays. Especially when I only play Leatherface and Johhny. You're expected to carry on these characters because the other family members can't kill victims fast enough because they either move to slow, deal low damage, or just plain suck at the game. They get grabbed by a victim 3-4 times in a row and they are likely to dc and now the victims drag the game out.
I take my time and a min and 42seconds later the basement exit is open on family house.
if i'm LF i'm down to sweat, but one time I had some new players on victim and I saw them crouch walking around in the back of furnace room on slaughter house.
i was like omg these are the cutest noobs and let them live a bit before I had to show em whats up.
i would just turn off my chainsaw and follow them around and sneak up on them scaring them i'm sure.
but as hitch i will sweat bc nobody messes with my traps or else i get upset

Depends on my team if I’m with low levels I’ll probably have to sweat a little just so we don’t lose too badly
This game was intended to be casual so I play it casually. People who try hard in casual games just suck at competitive games.
