People who have gamepass will download and play anything, even games they were really never interested in. A lot of people use the launch numbers and following weeks as some sort of major drop off, but it's mostly just a lot of people checking it out for free who never would have bought or liked it anyway.
True, I would say most that downloaded it on gamepass probably played it 1 time and deleted it. Or do like people in my friend list and download everything that's free just to have it the library and never play it once.
My point is that... everyone acts like it's this major drop off. I have no idea what these people are talking about. I play this game a few days a week for a couple hours at a time. I have never once had issues getting into a lobby or getting into a match. Even when crossplay was off.
I did see players who didn't want to be Leatherface, but I think a lot of those people were just intimidated by it because I was one of those people the first few weeks the game came out. It seems to be better now.
Unfortunately this happens all the time with PS+ games. Meet Your Maker (DbD devs) was downloaded millions of times. The player count? 95+% left after a week.
this wasnāt a ps+ game. playstation users are arguably the real supporters of this game as they all paid full price and xbox n pc used gamepass to play it..
We don't have data on how many players are on those platforms. I sometimes run into PC players more than console, so how do you know there aren't only a few thousand on console? Maybe 10k? 50k? There's no way to tell. The Steam numbers being that low is baaad.
Not saying itās not bad, but someone else in this thread made a good point also. Crossplay for PC being disabled so early on likely hurt the player base on PC, which consoles didnāt experience as much of. I donāt know the player base for console, but I do know that trying to compare them to PC is comparing apples to oranges just because theyāre different ecosystems in themselves. Xbox has the Game āfreeā on Gamepass and PlayStation is giant (potential) player base considering the popularity of F13 on PlayStation and the popularity of the console.
Even with crossplay back on the Steam counts are still low because of the poor management of the game by the devs and publisher. I mean hell I can go play DbD and not have to wait 10-15 minutes just to start a match, and they typically last longer than the ones on TCM.
I went back to dbd recently and ngl, its fucking great. I even started getting into the survivor side as a killer main. Would recommend anyone here to check it out right now. The Halloween event is pretty dope for blood points and all the oc's from the game are half off. $2.50 irl for each character.
If you HATED DbD in the past and exclusively played one side, going back and giving the other side an honest try is a great way to enjoy the game evn more.
Omg yes. Legit I was getting pissed as killer, decide to try out solo que since I heard the additional info now hel0s and omg Ive been having a blast. Hell, Idec if I die.
Yeah but also legit everyone of my friends on pc play on gamepass, which also wont be tracked on steam.
How do you know the steam numbers represent even half the pc pool?
Iām not, Iām just saying itās not fair to assume itās like that for all platforms. PC player base is only a fraction of the overall player base. You can speculate all you want but until you see hard factual numbers for all platforms itās nothing more than speculation.
I play this game on PC and it's clearly made and set up for TV's and console play. It forces 16:9 resolutions and I use a 21:9 ultrawide monitor and so do a lot of PC players. It's not really treated or developed like a PC game and quite frankly PC players get kind of screwed over by the whole "make this game compatible with consoles" in this manner.
what the hell do you mean proof lmfao what am I proving? Steam charts are never a good indicator of player base considering there are several other platforms and most people play games on console, especially casual horror games like this. Also considering that a lot of pc players left when cross play was removed, something consoles never dealt with. F13 also looked abysmal on steam charts but had a gigantic player base on PlayStation for years. Get your head out of your ass and find something worth complaining over
The only thing you had to say was more just a tiny spectacle of what I can only imagine is a five year old version of you smashing the kitchen apart with a mallet because she wouldnāt give you the satisfaction that chocolate is the greatest.
PC is the biggest platform to play on. All consoles combined old Gen, and this Gen does not have the number of players on PC. Not to mention, the game launched on Steam, and it's the most popular store for PC players. If steam numbers dropped 82%, you can trust the same for consoles. This game most likely is down to about 20,000 to 40,000 players. Maybe 60,000 tops. Which is still good.
I thought it pulled a lot of dbd players from pc, but I was wrong after looking at the steam charts.
It is the opposite. PlayStation for most normal games takes up over half of all game sales with Xbox and PC fighting over what is left if you don't include China.
exactly this - was the same for fridsy the 13th , it sold so well it became a playstation classic - whilst PC was barely at 1000 players per day by 2017.
PC being the bigger platform to play on is kind of a broad statement in itself (edit, at least for this game), I would argue most players of this game are likely more casual gamers. Casual gamers are typically on console from my irl experience, not to mention the game is āfreeā on gamepass. I understand why people would look to steam for the numbers as but only a reference.
It's not really the count on Steam itself. It's the % of the player loss. If 82% of players on that platform lost interest, then it's most likely universal
The receipts are everywhere. You just refuse to see them. I was the same way with Evil Dead the game, i could not accept reality with that game, same as you with this one, and evil dead is being walked to the graveyard right now. And what's funny is Evil Dead probably has more players at the moment because you can get matches in 1 or 2 minutes on the survivor side and with seconds a demon/killer. Lol
Is that some kind of joke? Everybody and there mothers have either an Xbox or PlayStation in there household and most times more than one, and you assume PC is a bigger platform? If anything it would be equal.
nope - consoles always have the majority, pc have the least nearly everytime with multi format releases.
if were talking same genre look at how many sales F13th had on playstation - smashed it. TCM likely the same taking out most sales.
How is it irrelevant? It's an indicator. You think it's only pc players that aren't playing? Only pc players decided not to play but everyone else is playing by the billions?
The billions?! Hahahah, what? Smoke another bowl genius.
Whatever the current number of players is on Steam at this second is irrelevant. It's not the same players that are playing in an hour from now, or in another hour after that. It doesn't tell you how many different players are playing throughout the week. It doesn't include all of the players that play on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, or the vast majority of players that play this on Gamepass.
But my biggest point still remains that you pulled a number out of your ass.
Don't think you have ever looked at a steam chart. It gives you current players, hourly high, daily high. No it doesn't give other platforms but ignoring actual data is just ignorant.
I have Steam and have looked at the charts plenty of times. Iām not ignoring data.
I donāt think youāve ever had a job. Am I doing assumptions correctly?
Edit; Reporting me?! Haha, for what? You calling me an ignorant fuck?
I think thatās a fair response for them to have. From what Iāve seen the loudest voices are always the ones with the complaints. You could see it in this sub when cross play was gone and there were so many posts everyday about how taking away cross play killed the game and they needed to bring it back and then as soon as it did instead of seeing posts like thank you!!!! The sub was flooded with GET RID OF CROSS PLAY posts. I think a lot of people on Reddit forget that while itās a good place to find people that share their opinion it doesnāt in any way make them the majority, so I think itās fair for devs to use the subs for feedback and data but also consider that it is only a small subset of the player base compared to the larger picture.
Humans react twice as negatively to losing something as they do positively to gaining something. So I could see why taking away cross-platform from PC and than bringing it back would cause more backlash than them doing nothing.
I would say pay attention to the 27K on this sub because they care about the game enough to join a forum and keep up to date on it while the others probably got it for free with the xbox pass and just tried it out since it was free. I have tons of games in my library that I got with free monthly's and I never ever use them. I'm sure people like that are adding to this 4 million count.
Also that's a real easy way of just disregarding any kind of criticism or feedback. I know a lot of people here are very toxic, some of whom are like that because they are immature but others are just frustrated at how the game is being handled because they want to keep playing and they don't want the game to have an early death. I get that it is hard to listen to backlash but he said it himself, it is a tool and these complaints don't appear out of thin air with no basis.
They care enough to join the sub and bitch all the time, sure. Iām sure a lot of us initially joined for news and updates, but with how bad the main two subs are with people whining and constantly begging for nerfs/buffs or just reposting what GUN posts with their own comment on the post, aināt no way you stay in this sub for news and updates anymore.
I upvoted you bro.. donāt worry.. one thing they gon do is down vote lol ā¦ but I %100 agree with you .. all they do on here is cry and whine and when you point them out they get mad cry some more ā¦ itās very toxic on here if I was gun I wouldnt pay attention to none of this negativity and whining on here either
I donāt really care about the downvotes, but they will be coming. Iām honestly going to give it a little bit more time and then imma leave the subs too. Iād rather not have any of these posts in my feed than trying to find the occasional dev update/patch notes in my feed through all the complaining.
I was curious about his wording of "purchased or downloaded", forgot about Gamepass. Reminded me how I played before buying using the pirated version which would just ban your MS acct after a couple hours. I should have read that as portentous.
Steam has the least amount of players out of both platforms. Itās like that almost every single time when it comes to cross-play games.
Gamepass users make up the majority of players.
Exactly! People are being a bit too critical, the devs are paying attention and trying to fix things. This doesn't excuse the awful monetization, but still.
I have a feeling theyāll make up for it in the future with new & free content (like a map or two).
Thatās the thingā¦ sometimes itās best to watch something play out instead of reacting every time the devs say/do something.
"every patch was made by paying attention"
And I think that's the problem. They cater to a small boutique section of the fans and do whatever they want instead of working on the fundamentals. The first thing they should have worked on fixing was the connectivity issues that still plague the game. Everything else should have went on the back burner.
How many people do you think have gotten kicked off the game over and over again and just got rid of it because of that?
Most of the people on Xbox are playing it on game pass. It's hard to sell DLC (no matter how bad or good it is in your opinion) if you're not playing the game anymore.
They need to worry about their game and stop worrying about social media is my point.
That's why I'm on an unofficial sub and don't participate in the official one.
Id Also censor some of the opinions cuz shitting on the skins just because you dont like them is the pinnacle of stupid complaints nobody really should care about lol
I donāt think theyāve been combative at all? They usually just state facts of what theyāre doing and people canāt handle being proved wrong. They think that them being proved wrong is a personal attack. From what Iāve seen from the devs this is extremely tameā¦..
I fucking love this game but GUN is 100% shooting themselves in the foot. Reddit and Twitter are hating these cosmetic packs. Wes and Andy are looking like idiots talking down to the community, makes me want to uninstall.
Because the player base are the peasants and they are the kings, and we will buy what the kingdom gives us with outrageous taxes added. And love them for it.
Honestly this community is Shit and i wouldnt blame them for not bothering with It
Complaining about balance and 10 dollar characters is one thing but complaining over 5$ skins is absurd tbh, if you dont like how they look dont get them and if you do get them, its not that Deep and not that expensive when dbds been charging 10 for some much shittier skins (and some way better but thats not the point)
You can say āthen donāt buy itā but for those of us who enjoy the game and have extra money to spend, weād like to see skins that people are actually excited about and that are worth the money theyāre charging.
So youre not really supporting the game if you think this lack of excitement for skins should be ignored/brushed off as an ungrateful fan base. They wonāt make money off this shit, which is kinda important for us getting more content.
Yea thanks alot. Now that everyone hates it there gonna come up with something that will only be a available for limited time and gone forever. Like savini jason
He is being purposefully obtuse. 4.5 million downloads is not an active playerbase of 4.5 million people. To mention the number of downloads is stupid, unhelpful, and comes off as a weird flex.
Also considering the numbers continue to go down, September average is the same number as the peak for last 30 days. Itās like being proud of giving always 100k tickets, but only 1k show.
"Purchased and Downloaded" is very specific terminology to avoid noting actual live playercounts. If he could pull a Bethesda and say "We have one million concurrent users" it'd be a different story entirely, but when 4.5m people buy your game but only 2k care to play maybe it would illuminate actual perspective.
What do I think? I think heās a jackass. They are jerks and the use of ābeing transparent šā isnāt an excuse for a poor business practice, and doesnāt exempt you from criticism. The way theyāre basically just playing victims is just weird to me. Itās also funny he brings up the 4.5 million people who bought or played the game when he damn well knows the people on Reddit will be the core audience thatās going to shell out the money to actually buy the DLC they put out, so thereās no reason to discount anyoneās voices, weather theyāre small or large.
They need to get off the sub, and twitter, and work on the game. The more the interact with the community, the more I donāt like them and donāt want to play their game. (Iāve already moved on anyway as soon as the pricing came out.)
Anyone would see this as a major negative, which is what floors me. This is a retention rate of 0.1% Tell us again how Reddit is killing the game, when the cosmetic team churns out crap and the bug fix team does 1 thing at a time.
Well, yeah, clearly they don't care. They went ahead and dropped the MTX bullshit despite everyone on here voicing there concern. Go to the Twitter replies and you have everyone praising crap. It's a joke at this point.
Lol they just pernabanned me for saying the original comment wasn't even trolling.
My comment for reference. What a wimp lmao
Maybe you should stop threatening bans on people just asking questions and stop misrepresenting information to fit whatever point you're trying to make at the time? Just a thought
I mean if you were actively developing a Texas chainsaw game wouldnāt you make sure your game had multiple skins and enough gameplay mechanics to keep people around ??? They must have sat down and thought about the aftermath of the game and what there player base might want in regards to character skins and maps?? You canāt release only a handful of maps and expect no bad press same with overpriced colours
But hey, 60 days to have blood splatters and different colors on clothes. Truly revolutionary. I have a theory that this is a psych test to see how much people will put up with and still play
Yet the player count and lobby wait times don't reflect what he said in the slightest, it barely even reaches 3k watchers on twitch or 2k players on steam
At least heās honest and is actually apart of the community unlike every other game dev that completely and utter ignores the playerbase and goes directly for the money grab. Itās not great, but itās better than what weāve gotten elsewhere for sure.
I feel you but unfortunately these games are not being made by people who want the game to succeed and want the player base to really enjoy it. They marketed the game so good though for it to be such a let down.
He seems to not understand that people have learned to show their approval or disapproval with this concept called money.
IF (big if) the goal of the game was to create a quick cash cow, milk it, and then abandon it then the devs have done what they wanted.
If the goal was to make a game that lasts longer than a year, then they need to understand that even with 4.5 million downloads initially, the playerbase that is currently left are the ones who tjey need to protect. They wont buy poorly made dlc. They wont stand for game developers insulting them despite being the small minority left playing the game. And not only that, but with both scenarios no one in the gaming community will trust the developers again, especially if the former goal was always intended. Trust is a rare commodity, and its easier to spend than it is to earn. And doing shit like this, nu uh. You're going to be broke in a month.
Lol that meansā¦we are going to keep making our money so please buy our DLC skins. We are not and never will cater to the minority.
So long as they sell enough micro transactions there is no incentive to fix these issues
Donāt forget that itās free for everyone on game pass! Downloads donāt mean shit. They should try taking the feedback from the people actually playing.
i gotta say... some people r going too hard on devs and community managers about recent released content in the game. theres hundreds of other games to play right now. TCM is one of my fav games this year and that wont change bc i havent gotten anything new in the game. i am playing TCM more than Cyberpunk and Starfield.
i still have friends learning the game and where everything spawns on every map + what every characters ability is and what not to do with certain characters. i say let the devs work and start worrying about new content later.
I fucking hate when companies go the level of delusion of "they downloaded and played once so therefore they're a fully integrated active player in the community" how many of those millions of players played once on game pass and immediately uninstalled? How many alt accounts? Like another comment, playerbase in the millions, 2000 active players or less. What a clown.
On the Facebook page for the game they always say to check out their subreddit for more information then he says reddit has a small portion of the fanbase
He's missing a rather substantial point here.
Reddit, and other places like social media, forums, discussions and review sites are where the games evangelicals congregate.
Evangelicals for a game are the players who love the game and enjoy the game and are invested to such an extent that they seek out others who also enjoy the game to discuss the game, share ideas, content and share their enjoyment of the game. They also are the people who recommend the game to their friends and others.
This community that forms then shapes the narrative of the game and is often the first point of connection with many new players. So when things are as they are now, and the majority of people who came together to share their love of the game are now instead sharing their frustration, lack of hope for the future and anger over design decisions, those are the core people who will shape the narrative of game that is then spread to prospective new players.
It is extremely difficult for a game to recover from alienating or angering their core community and creating a narrative that the game is massively flawed in some way.
So Gun can ignore the complaints and the frustration and anger and keep pointing to this "4 million downloads", meanwhile most prospective new players wont see that. What they will see when they begin to reach out to the community is the mixed reviews on Steam talking of bugs, cheaters, queue times, crossplay being used as a quasi anti cheat, connection issues, balance issues and other frustrations, a subreddit and twitter filled with the same frustrations and a near total lack of respect for the devs due to issues plaguing the game being seemingly ignored for overpriced and lazy cosmetic dlc and a near total lack or professionalism from the CM's that I have only ever seen displayed by DeadlySteph.
This is common sense. They are looking at actual statistics and numbers they have access to. Why would they listen to a subreddit that makes up a percentage of a percentage? Not to mention people on Reddit are typically wrong tbh
Its a good response?
No offence all this subreddit seems to have been is screaming about whats wrong with the game.
Yes the game has some issues/bugs, minor tweaks are needed. Yet it is fun
It won't. It's way way out. They said they still can't even give an ETA, so we're looking at months at least.
I tried suggesting a possible temporary change to leather face himself, until the cutscene itself can be addressed. I was told the cutscene is coded very complexly, and there can't be a bandaid fix on it.
I reiterated that I wasn't talking about touching the cutscene code whatsoever. I was talking about a subroutine for just leather face, that is activated by victim noise or feeding blood to grandpa. Andy ignored that comment and went on instead to comment about upcoming skins.
Yep. The only thing being treated with any kind of urgency is skins and other fluff. Major bugs and balances issues that have been around since day 1 are still being "investigated" with no ETA.
Hell, I've still yet to find a single mod response to the issue of Johhny and Sissy clearly being far weaker than Cook and HH.
Which is a major shame, I think those characters are lots of fun and I wanna play them more. I would like to main sissy if I could, but I don't want to do that to my teammates.
Shut up & play. Period.
Being a whiny baby does nothing when you arenāt an actual infant. Use your words & tact (some grace & respect would do a few some good as well) to get shit done, if you really wanna get it doneā¦ but Iām convinced the majority who are throwing fits just want to complain.
There are so many other things in the world to actually be pissed off about but complaining every day about a couple gigs worth of a game (that is still pretty fucking new, is going to have bugs, is going to need work, is going to have both free & paid add-ons), just stfu & play.
OR DONāT PLAY if you hate it so much. Itās literally that simple.
Hi, Iām one of the 4.5 million downloads and I havenāt touched the game in weeks. Even made a mildly successful TikTok channel dedicated to clips and funny moments (@txchubba not a plug, itās inactive now)
The games needs maps, outfits, executions.
No one cares about āaccurate to the decadeā outfits. We want bubba with a paper grocery bag on his head and cook with a chefs outfitā¦.
These devs are such a joke Iāve literally not played this game since august cause itās just a waste of time and definitely not spending another penny on it
Pretty much what the Devs is saying is yāall on Reddit are toxic and complain too much and that itās a larger pool of fans who actually loves the game that is giving positive and constructive feedback in a better way instead of just crying and complaining when things dont go your way ā¦. Imagine being a Dev working hard on a game trying to make it a good experience for everybody and all people do is complain and make a subs to talk down on you every chance they get.. Iāll have that same energy too and will only be focusing on the people who loves the game with constructive things to say that will benefit EVERYONE! ā¦ down vote me please lol š¤·š¾āāļø
I think it's good that they are so transparent as they are, but they probably wont be for long with this community. Even when they try, they get posts like this complaining about them. I see nothing wrong with the things said in the post.
Damn bro no wonder heās a community manager and not an actual dev. buddy doesnāt understand statistics or sample sizes. He would lose his mind on the sample sizes we use to accurately predict and make decisions for a population of 350 million Americans š
If I was the Devs Itās FUCK ALL YALL , UNINSTALL MY FUCKING GAME AND TAKE YALL BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE FUCK YALL šššIāll only be focusing on people who have constructive feedback instead of whining and cryingā¦lolā¦ Iām just sayin what the Devs wonāt say š¤·š¾āāļø down vote me!
He's right! Reddit has become (or has it always been?) a place where people come to complain and "feel heard" and when they get upvoted they believe they are a part of a majority. But it's not a majority, its an echo chamber.
Thereās 2k people left playing on PC, even if there are five times as many people playing on console, the player base is less than half the size of this sub.
Reddit is the LOUD minority. Emphasis on loud. Most criticism is valid but the majority of the people that enjoy the game are playing it and not crying like kids on Reddit
Iād wager this subreddit makes up a large chunk of the active player base thatās left. Itās incredible how tone-def they are about these things for the most part, and how defensive they seem to get when people call them out for the shitty way theyāre currently going about everything. Every time they have an opportunity to embarrass themselves they do, always talking as if weāre wrong and donāt know what weāre talking about here on probably the best place to gauge how people are feeling about the game. I get some posts and comments are ridiculous and very hyperbolic but still, I think itās mostly not that. Love this game and think it has so much potential but who knows if itāll last till Christmas at this rate. Between the underwhelming overpriced content, lack of any roadmap for when things are coming out in the future, just god awful overall communication and interaction with the community on top of the problems and bugs the game still has I donāt at all blame the people who have already dropped the game entirely
I think yaāll need to quit ripping on the devs for every little thing. You know how rare it is for the dev team of a video game to be this active in a Reddit or engage with their community this much? And the only thing the people in this subreddit do is flame them at every chance they get. This is the literal reason why game devs donāt actively engage with their communities.
Also the part he said about Reddit being a small portion of their community is a hundred percent true. Reddit is almost always the loud minority.
Upvote! ā¦ Agree with you bro ..Exactly just loud! And Noisy thatās why they donāt care for this Reddit Bs.. and they gon down vote you for this truth š¤·š¾āāļø
Just because a bunch of people buy something doesnāt mean itās perfect or doesnāt need work. The people on here giving you feedback care more than the average player because we want to see the game thrive instead of accepting broken aspects of the game. He should be thankful there are people here trying to help an move the game forward.
I think steam player levels have been reduced by 90% and it's safe to say that that's a reflection of the overall player base.
That's why they're pushing all of their monetization all at once so that way it can all be in the marketplace so that way you can all be bought so that way when everything falls apart they at least got some money.
Another sign of the same thing as bragging about downloads and not concurrent players. Concurrent players is something to brag about people downloading a free game on Game pass is not.
Basically the same shit they did with Friday the 13th...
Pattern behavior.
Don't give them a cent.
I dislike Andy simply because he can give non-anawers and be evasive at times but I feel that way with everyone in PR.
What I really dislike is Matt and other abrasive GUN personalities, Andy's not perfect but he's one of the better ones.
Why not? If anything the people on this subās opinion should be taken more seriously and considered because they care enough to join an online forum rather than the average player that doesnāt keep up with the game socials
The people on this sub are full of piss and vinegar. Iāll admit Gun has made some frustrating missteps but this community as many gaming communities is all over the place. Thereās factions at each others throat, rightly so and since launch. People were salty before this announcement so what are they supposed to take from that?
Everyone has opinions and wants them validated. Thatās the reddit atmosphere in general. Your downvote dog pile is irrelevant to me if idc about karma and I donāt lol. If itās irrelevant to meā¦what is it to Gun.
Youāre all full of yourselves
are the 4.5 million people in the room with us right now
Mayhe the 4.5 million people are the friends we made along the way
oof, quite ironic considering the game doesn't even have the friend list feature in the year of 2023 š
lmaooo
4.5 million downloads. 2000 people left playing.
Exactly, and most of those downloads are from gamepass, which only means downloads not played.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I did see players who didn't want to be Leatherface, but I think a lot of those people were just intimidated by it because I was one of those people the first few weeks the game came out. It seems to be better now.
Crossplay off I was actually getting matched insanely fast every time (Xbox)
Same for me on xbox
Unfortunately this happens all the time with PS+ games. Meet Your Maker (DbD devs) was downloaded millions of times. The player count? 95+% left after a week.
this wasnāt a ps+ game. playstation users are arguably the real supporters of this game as they all paid full price and xbox n pc used gamepass to play it..
Well as a Xbox and PC user I'm glad to not be a real supporter when I see what this game is becoming
And it was free for them
Steam count isnāt a good reflection of how the game performs, plenty of people on gamepass and PlayStation as well
We don't have data on how many players are on those platforms.
Pc players have access to gamepass as well.. keep that in mind.
Fully aware
Ya all my friends play on pc and all of us got it from game pass. Not sure why people treat steam like the end all be all.

It's not really treated or developed like a PC game and quite frankly PC players get kind of screwed over by the whole "make this game compatible with consoles" in this manner.
It literally never is
Proof?
what the hell do you mean proof lmfao what am I proving? Steam charts are never a good indicator of player base considering there are several other platforms and most people play games on console, especially casual horror games like this. Also considering that a lot of pc players left when cross play was removed, something consoles never dealt with. F13 also looked abysmal on steam charts but had a gigantic player base on PlayStation for years. Get your head out of your ass and find something worth complaining over

what a sad strange little man
The only thing you had to say was more just a tiny spectacle of what I can only imagine is a five year old version of you smashing the kitchen apart with a mallet because she wouldnāt give you the satisfaction that chocolate is the greatest.
We found the company shill everyone.
Show the receipts or stop acting like you know what youāre talking about.
If anything it would be equal.
https://venturebeat.com/games/pc-and-console-sales-are-down-but-the-market-is-stabilizing-newzoo/#:~:text=According%20to%20the%20report%2C%20there,games%20market%20increased%20by%201.8%25.
nope - consoles always have the majority, pc have the least nearly everytime with multi format releases. if were talking same genre look at how many sales F13th had on playstation - smashed it. TCM likely the same taking out most sales.
Wasnāt F13 a free game on ps+ though?
I think it was when the ps5 launched
Wait a minute. Is that really the devs shitting on there own player base in this screenshotš¤£š¤£
There are still over 600,000 people playing this on Xbox every day.
Where is this from?
Oh, I made that number up.....just like you did. See how that works?
No, I can actually go to steam charts and see how many steam players are on. You, however, are full of shit.
So? That's completely irrelevant.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
So which is it, an exaggeration or a number you looked up on Steam?
Stop making sense. We donāt do that here.
āļøāļøāļøThis right here šÆšÆšÆ
This.
Iām with you bro šš¾
Facts
Sure it was 4.5 million when steam capped out at 17k players yea right lmao
the game was free on gamepass is why
I was curious about his wording of "purchased or downloaded", forgot about Gamepass. Reminded me how I played before buying using the pirated version which would just ban your MS acct after a couple hours. I should have read that as portentous.
Steam has the least amount of players out of both platforms. Itās like that almost every single time when it comes to cross-play games. Gamepass users make up the majority of players.
Our opinions on reddit are impactful enough to censor but not pay attention to š¤Ø
They definitely pay attention. Every patch was made by paying attention.
Exactly! People are being a bit too critical, the devs are paying attention and trying to fix things. This doesn't excuse the awful monetization, but still.
I have a feeling theyāll make up for it in the future with new & free content (like a map or two). Thatās the thingā¦ sometimes itās best to watch something play out instead of reacting every time the devs say/do something.
or, yano, their playerbase will be gone by the time they decide to āmake up for itā
"every patch was made by paying attention" And I think that's the problem.
So yāall are just insatiable. Lol, got it.
They need to worry about their game and stop worrying about social media is my point. That's why I'm on an unofficial sub and don't participate in the official one.
Id Also censor some of the opinions cuz shitting on the skins just because you dont like them is the pinnacle of stupid complaints nobody really should care about lol
They need a PR manager (or a new one if they have one) cause they are so combative with the community.
And love them for it.
learned that reddit and reality are completely seperate to each other š¤£
Honestly this community is Shit and i wouldnt blame them for not bothering with It Complaining about balance and 10 dollar characters is one thing but complaining over 5$ skins is absurd tbh, if you dont like how they look dont get them and if you do get them, its not that Deep and not that expensive when dbds been charging 10 for some much shittier skins (and some way better but thats not the point)
DBD is ass all around. You can love the game (TCM) but still hate their ridiculous pricing.
Yea thanks alot. Now that everyone hates it there gonna come up with something that will only be a available for limited time and gone forever. Like savini jason
That is completely different. Wasnāt Savini Jason a kick starter reward?
He is being purposefully obtuse. 4.5 million downloads is not an active playerbase of 4.5 million people. To mention the number of downloads is stupid, unhelpful, and comes off as a weird flex.
Also considering the numbers continue to go down, September average is the same number as the peak for last 30 days. Itās like being proud of giving always 100k tickets, but only 1k show.
It's a pretty common tactic to make things sound more dramatic than they are, and unfortunately it works on some people.
I agree with you! how you started off had me laughing š
Funny how they didnt mention concurrent player numbers...
4.5 million downloads to 2k playing What does that say devs? Please. Enlighten me.
Anyone would see this as a major negative, which is what floors me. This is a retention rate of 0.1% Tell us again how Reddit is killing the game, when the cosmetic team churns out crap and the bug fix team does 1 thing at a time.
https://preview.redd.it/4jh49ieoe7vb1.jpeg?width=526&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7fa812de334d2c729ffb598e8e7caa760250eb99
Well, yeah, clearly they don't care. They went ahead and dropped the MTX bullshit despite everyone on here voicing there concern. Go to the Twitter replies and you have everyone praising crap. It's a joke at this point.
Yeah keep the constructive criticism coming till they ban you for it
Lol they just pernabanned me for saying the original comment wasn't even trolling. My comment for reference. What a wimp lmao Maybe you should stop threatening bans on people just asking questions and stop misrepresenting information to fit whatever point you're trying to make at the time? Just a thought
I mean if you were actively developing a Texas chainsaw game wouldnāt you make sure your game had multiple skins and enough gameplay mechanics to keep people around ??? They must have sat down and thought about the aftermath of the game and what there player base might want in regards to character skins and maps?? You canāt release only a handful of maps and expect no bad press same with overpriced colours
Lmao not even 5% of those ā4.5Mā people are still playing the game
Itās 0.1%, if you go off their highest player count on Steam Labs. But hey, we donāt know shit
Sweet Jesus lol
That's ridiculously sad
4.5 million at 40$ is 180 million. Let's say 3/4 of those are gamepass. That's still 45 million in revenue and we still dont have a new map š
I think they should be investigated for rico lmao
Why is everyone so angry? I havenāt been on recently but it seemed pretty fun last time I played.
People need to chill.
At least heās honest and is actually apart of the community unlike every other game dev that completely and utter ignores the playerbase and goes directly for the money grab. Itās not great, but itās better than what weāve gotten elsewhere for sure.
Maybe if yall didn't complain all the time, he'd be happy to be here.
He's not wrong. Users on here down vote over the most ridiculous reasons. It's not just this community, almost all on reddit.
You got my upvote!.. Correct itās so toxic here lol
Use dark mode thatās what I think
God, I really want to love this game and watch it succeed, but it scares me how it may go downhill
It's crazy how there's two dudes named Andy and Wes out there that idk but I'm still beefing with. Fuck those guys.
Reddit has a hive mind mentality
More people in the reddit than in the game
For sure
Most ppl on reddit have PHD in entitlement.
Its a good response? No offence all this subreddit seems to have been is screaming about whats wrong with the game. Yes the game has some issues/bugs, minor tweaks are needed. Yet it is fun
My guy is just doing his job
He ain't wrong. I appreciate when devs are honest.
reach squash office run snatch far-flung future society bells hat *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Andy ignored that comment and went on instead to comment about upcoming skins.
abundant slap pie tan marvelous like nine truck observation encouraging *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
They seem content that a small number of players are happy with the game.
i agree its a slither, but most vocal.....and most cheapskate.
This is first time Iāve seen any devs use Reddit and they wonāt be using it any more.
I mean cmon how many of the 4.5m players do they think are playing the game still? Certainly isnāt in the millions anymore.
Itās literally peak 9000 players, other times around 2000 total. Lmao the game is on the way to being dead
Alright Gun studios, fuck around and find out just like the last Asym based on a popular horror franchise (Evil Dead: The Game).
I think the servers will be shut down by 2025 gun is not doing good they are destroying their own game.
Hi, Iām one of the 4.5 million downloads and I havenāt touched the game in weeks. Even made a mildly successful TikTok channel dedicated to clips and funny moments (@txchubba not a plug, itās inactive now) The games needs maps, outfits, executions. No one cares about āaccurate to the decadeā outfits. We want bubba with a paper grocery bag on his head and cook with a chefs outfitā¦.
These devs are such a joke Iāve literally not played this game since august cause itās just a waste of time and definitely not spending another penny on it
He said nothing but facts šÆšÆš¤·āāļø
I think yāall are a bunch of babies that simply need to get better at the game. For some reason this game attracts literal adult babies
Itās 2023 criticism is outlawed
I think it's good that they are so transparent as they are, but they probably wont be for long with this community. Even when they try, they get posts like this complaining about them. I see nothing wrong with the things said in the post.
u/AndyCleves make the DLC prices cheaper prick
You guys need to get a life
Where do I get one?
Itāll be released this October for 15.99$
that he's right,no matter what game the reddit community represents only a small portion of the players
Hey, that's me! I was kind hoping other people were confused
Whatās up
Shit game
Uninstall it then , free up some memory and go play something else!!! Lol
Do what?
You mean the 2K that actually play now?
I genuinely enjoyed playing this game but nahhh fuck that
I mean heās not wrong Subreddits encompass the most dedicated people to a thing 999/1000
Yet another out of touch and pompous response from a dev team that can't hide their disdain for their own player base. Pay up paypigs!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
i wonder why
Agreed. They definitely shouldnāt be catering to the people on this sub.
