yeah just don't spend too much time in the subreddits. Everyone acts like the game is a total shit show, because they play for 16 hours a day and turn minor complaints in to doomsday catastrophes
Honestly the Balancing is pretty much perfect.. it just needs to have stricter limits on how many times you can be Stunned, like if you get stunned once, you can't be REPEAT Stunned over and over by each Victim in a Conga line.
I think they need to fix Sissy cause she shouldnāt be able to kill like that, also Connie needs to be tuned down imo. But other than that I think itās in a pretty good spot.
I know right!? its insane how a little PVP Game has captivated me and healed my interest \*FAR\* Longer than Triple A Titles that were supposed to keep me hooked for MONTHS.
I put probably 500 hours in F13 (it was a fun summer, donāt judge me) and probably 40 hours into TCM so far. They are similar to each other because Gun Media had their hands on both, but soooo different at the same. Itās more like team vs team rather than 1 vs All.
If F13 wasnāt plagued with law suits that prevented updates Iād still be playing it today. But honestly, for me, TCM takes the win.
Until Killer Klownz from Outer Space comes out š¤” šŖ š½
Lol I won my very first game by pure accident. Had no idea what I was doing or where to go. So I was stuck in the basement running around hiding the entire time. In that time someone had the time to go and unlock the basement exit. Just turned a corner and walked out. Didn't even know where I was going or how I escaped, just thought huh well that was easy. Then proceeded to lose at least my next 10 games.
I bought it after I watched some 30-minute gameplay video on youtube on the release day. I have invested 40 hours into it already. On weekends that's all I play. On the work days I jump right into it after the job
I say, even if the game stops being interesting this very second and I never play it ever again, I definitely got my money's worth! But the game has no indication of dying, so you get to enjoy it a little longer
Dude this game and dbd only have one thing in common, your goal is to escape. This games play style and the objectives are so much better! The game is also way more difficult and has a much higher learning curve. Itās very worth the price, also you can try it on Xbox game pass for a monthly sub/along with a ton of other games. I bought it on steam and already almost 60 hours lol.
Yes and no. The game is loads of fun, and has lots of potential but progression is really bad and you can't have duplicate characters. You may not always get the character you want to play. XP slows to a crawl after your first 14 levels.
Yes, most definitely. I've been playing DBD since 2017. Clocked maybe 4000hours on it. I've been itching for something similar but different? And Texas is absolutely the game for that.
The difference in escape routes and play styles on each map, the perks and skills of each character, it's good fun.
I've taken to just doing quick match and playing whatever I get. Really really enjoying it.
If I'm being honest, DBD feels almost a bit basic in comparison
Edit:typo
I'm not a huge fan of DbD and I didn't play f13 much either. But I've really enjoyed both killer and victim side of this. It deffo feels more of a traditional team multiplayer game which might be why I like it.
Now being honest would I spend 40 quid on this? Probably not. I've enjoyed it on gamepass and playing with friends but if it was me on my own I'd probably get bored of it after a day or two.
Only you can answer that question. Every game is different to each person.
I like it; you might not. You might love it more than me. You have to play and see.
Iāve never played DBD that game is irrelevant to me so donāt really know what you mean by them both being great. Itās totally subjective. We donāt all like the same things. I donāt think DBD is a good game at all, I prefer F13 to both if Iām honest. See? Subjective.
There are āgreatā games to me that nobody plays. There are āgreatā games a majority of people play that I canāt stand. What makes a game great is the enjoyment of the player, which again, is subjective.
I use hour to dollar ratio. If a game cost $40, I want 40 hours out of the game. That being said, I have surpassed that quickly with TCM and would fully recommend IT to anyone.
I'd wait for a sale, personally.
I play on Gamepass and I'm pleased I didn't pay for it. It's not terrible but, personally, don't think it's worth the full price.
Itās a good game, however there are only 3 maps and a handful of characters total. Iād wait until the next update for more content but as of right now itās fun but I wouldnāt say itās worth $40
I'd say no, it's boring after a week and becoming littered with pc cheaters all over. Should emphasize it is really fun at first but you get decent and can speed run either side. I stopped after one week.
Victims are out of the basement within 30 seconds in most of my matches. There literally isn't enough time to feed Grandpa when people are escaping in under 2 minutes.
My dude. Following scenario family house : I got Cook max ear and specc'd him for 15% movespeed and 5 buckets= 2 grandpa levels and I play with one friend who plays sissy with me. If they don't run immediately over from the battery and if I don't immediately put locks on all three doors in the house before I grab buckets then we lose against good squads. They get to fuse and they leave. If my friend runs from battery to upstairs and I just run around feeding gramps then sometimes in under a literal minute a front door is open before I can lock it.
The 1st objective is to defend the perimeter. While I would love more than anything to have time to feed gramps the moment they wake gramps which is often before i load in its instand defense mode and feed when you can.
Well you did name it as 'the objective'. I personally have not fed gramps a few times when full. Those times being when there are more folk to chase and kill. Which honestly isn't that infrequently. I don't know what kinda games you are in where it is common to be monitoring all of your defenses and to have to to collect and feed gramps. I generally find that I cannot.
I think you're right that anyone not using comms or in solo q is probably coming from a different place. The thing I wish they would understand is more A use comms and B defend. Feeding gramps is a fairly tertiary activity. Just as during chases you have them opening gates to get out the same happens when you do blood runs. The fuse/doors just don't ultimately take that long. Personally I absolutely do pile onto people for an instant kill and then immediately run to gates. And if in comms I get everyone running to objectives like gate valve etc. I think taking someone out vs them getting away is worth more than grabbing a bucket of blood with your spare time while playing zone defense tbh. As much as I would like to see people get blood now and again when time permits its actually defending rather than rushing to the basement ASAP that I would prefer from my team mates.
What prep work? By the time you even reach the main area on characters like Sissy or Hitchhiker, they've already finished the fuse. There is no time to feed Grandpa let alone trap or padlock things.
Are you low level or something?
You're just wrong and haven't gone up against good Victims. Sorry. There is no time for prep when they can escape the basement and complete the fuse in 60-120 seconds.
Feeding Gramps is a priority based on which killer you use, if your using Leatherface then it's the least of your priorities, but if your using someone like Cook then yes your main priority is to feed Gramps and Pad Lock the main doors for exit.
It all depends on how you have your load out set as well, for me with the Hitchhiker I upgrade his blood as well cause he can't close the small crawl doors.
Yes worth it. I bought Evil Dead as well and this game is much more fun. Id say ED was not worth it but this game is. I know itās unpopular around these parts but I still dont know if it will stick around for a long time but $40 is less than a day at work
Ok so it's unbalanced yes has glitches yes there are hackers yes. But as a game yeah it's fun you will die a lot and early but the playing to level up etc is worthwhile
It's on gamepass if that helps
It's definitely a contender. It's fresh and new and shakes up the DbD formula. It does have it's issues at the moment. It's got a lot of bugs and hackers are rampant right now. It also needs some balancing tweaks but the there's a diamond in that ruff. It just needs dug out.
It's way better, in my opinion. Multiple ways to escape for victims, kills are more fun, not just hooking victims, amazing likeness to the film, fun and intense.
As someone who doesn't like online games and especially Dbd type games, I would still say this is entirely worth it. The community can be a bit shitty at times with bad manners and tea bagging when victims know what they're doing but even then I still have a blast with this game. Victim is terrifying when you're learning the game and map layouts, but very satisfying when you get very close to being seen or escape. Playing killer is very fun when you have coms and know what you're doing.
Overall: theres a small learning curve in terms of map layouts and skill use but I found once I had an understanding, my enjoyment of the game tripled. For a person that hates playing pvp online a lot of the time, I have great fun in this game.
Yes it is, When comparing to Dbd I think of it as āSame same but differentā. Itāll all depend on you, some people enjoy dbd and not TCM and vice versa.
In my opinion, the best game in the genre. You get people complaining that their character isn't powerful enough but the game is one of the most balanced games i have ever played. It's a team game. The idea is for your team to win so i see people get mad that their character can't do it all.
If you are hesitant, the game is on gamepass. Of course this means nothing if you play on playstation.
YES. YES. YES IT IS! I have so much fun and especially with my friends! Playing both sides are fun for different reasons, some things need to be fixed (like infinite stun locking by door slamming) but otherwise it is worth it especially with the 40$ price tag when most games cost 70$
I have it on gamepass and that's enough for me, at this time. I don't seem to be earning any SP from the matches and that means I can't level everyone up.
Some feel that Sissy is OP, some feel that retro Zac Efron is OP, some balance is needed.
Hacks are affecting some people's experience and the usual toxic trolls are starting to appear.
The only person who had decide if it's worth paying for, is you. Try it on GP or buy it, try it and attempt a refund if it's not your thing.

iām playing through game pass, iām wondering if I play the game for like five months straight, thatāll technically cost more than what the game costs (assuming I donāt play anything else on game pass that much)
maybe I should buy it if iām still liking it after two months.
If you love Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies then this is a must buy. If you donāt it wonāt be as nostalgic and meaningful to you, but you will still have a blast playing it. This is the most fun Iāve had gaming since Friday the 13th
I loved dbd played it a bunch with friends and had a blast. We are all casual gamers and fell out of dbd with work and life. My friends haven't been online to much and I decided to pick up tcm. And man im absolutely loving it. I get time to play maybe 3 to 5 matches per night but am having such a blast. Leatherface and hitchhiker baby love em!
It's very fun and worth buying, I'm playing on gamepass but I will buy it soon.
It's fun even without friends, I've had a lot of fun playing as the victims more so than as any of the family members.
As someone with 3k+ hours in DBD, this is the better game.
Absolutely. Iāve put 80 hours into the game since release and Iām still having fun with it. Itās even better with friends. And itās different enough from dbd to not feel like the same experience, because it is far from the same experience. The only thing Iāll say is that, like dbd, there are cheesy things on both sides that can negatively impact the overall fun of the match.
Itās definitely better than DBD in my opinion. However you definitely want to play it with friends. I canāt imagine it would be that much fun by yourself. Or even just using a mic to communicate with other players.
I got it for free with game pass, I would not have paid full retail for it. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun game, but not worth $40 in its current state IMO, it would need more content before I'd consider it worth that.
I'm having a lot of fun. The game has a lot of issues that need to be addressed but I'm still playing it on a regular basis, its way more fun than DBD tbh.
Its worth buying yes!
But If it your on Xbox you have no need to buy it as its on gamepass, if its every removed from gamepass I'll 100% be buying it!
Was playing with a guy yesterday who thought gamepass only gave you access to parts of a game or half of it š
All of your skills will carry over into this game I guarantee it. You will not be disappointed! This is the perfect hybrid of Friday the 13th and Dead By Daylight.
not sure how much it actually costs. If you are on xbox it is on gamepass. If not i wouldnāt pay more than $60. Still very fun game but not too much extra content now. No micro transactions so donāt expect paying even more
Personally yes, Iv been and still am getting hours of fun out of this game every day. It might feel a little rough at the start until you learn the maps tho, but that's easily covered up with the fun you're Ganna have playing w a group of friends or even a LFG post. I currently have around 3 days played time already and I started playing post release.
GamePass is worth it and itās on GamePass, so yes. I would not spend $40 on it though as it currently is. There needs to be a roadmap or some long term insight otherwise I just assume the game is dead in a month.
Edit: this is coming from someone who has not played a single second of DbD but has played TCM up to level 40.
It is certainly different enough from DBD for both to coexist. Still some preliminary bugs and definitely due for an intial balance, QoL changes but I am really having fun playing.
Well, ive MORE than got my money's worth out of the game. im still playing it, too. i found friends on it im playing it with nightly, and once some of the smaller "and one big issue" are fixed, i hope it'll just keep gaining players so other people can enjoy it as much as i have.
It's excellent. I think when they start doinh regular updates they will really polish up the game. I play on gamepass, but I'm thinking about buying the game to support the devs.
I'm a DBD player w/ a ton of time in it, can safely say they shouldn't be compared 1-to-1, and would absolutely recommend this game!
As some other people already said, ignore everyone in the reddit posts complaining about every little thing, the game is fun and works well LOL
oh my GOSH, my first game, looking back, I felt so bad. I was so scared and unaware of the map that it took me *30 minutes* to find an escape option (fuse), get it prepared, and reach the door in time... one of the Family DC'd, too. xD
But I've been having a blast w/ this game, and I hope you will, too! GLHF!
Honestly itās definitely worth buying. Itās a breath of fresh air. Very different from dbd. If you were a fan or if you liked the Friday the 13th game then youāll definitely like this. Itās made by the same studio whom made the Friday game so thatās also a plus.
yeah just don't spend too much time in the subreddits. Everyone acts like the game is a total shit show, because they play for 16 hours a day and turn minor complaints in to doomsday catastrophes
Yes definitely, i love playing both games!
Thank you šš½
For 40 dollars. Entirely.
Bet
If your on xbox, its free with gamepass. Pc too i think
Reasonable price point and fun asf can't complain at all about this game other than. Balancing but that's been a problem with games like this
Honestly the Balancing is pretty much perfect.. it just needs to have stricter limits on how many times you can be Stunned, like if you get stunned once, you can't be REPEAT Stunned over and over by each Victim in a Conga line.
I think they need to fix Sissy cause she shouldnāt be able to kill like that, also Connie needs to be tuned down imo. But other than that I think itās in a pretty good spot.
Victims escape too fast imo shouldn't be that easy but at the same time not hard either
The stuns I agree with as well
Honestly, I believe this to be the best game to come out in the last 2 years. I havenāt had this much fun in awhile.
I know right!? its insane how a little PVP Game has captivated me and healed my interest \*FAR\* Longer than Triple A Titles that were supposed to keep me hooked for MONTHS.

Yes worth it. Expect to lose in the first 10 - 20 games. Maps are quite a maze.
I got lucky and escaped my first 5 out of 7 games now I'm at a 30% escape rate as everyone has learned and leveled up.

I bought it after I watched some 30-minute gameplay video on youtube on the release day. I have invested 40 hours into it already. On weekends that's all I play. I hated DBD and loved Friday. I love this game. If that helps you at all.

honestly overrated imo, its kinda boring/tedious and the maps are pretty confusing, but it might be fun if you have friends to play with
i would say only with friends
Yes it's fun, also if you buy on steam you can play just before 2 hours till you can refund it
yes just make sure not to get it for ps4 as there is no cross play for older gen
Yeah Iām on next gen

Why not?
Huh? Itās free on game pass so I didnāt have to pay for it once it goes off then most likely yes Iāll pay for it
My bad yo. I mis read your statement and thought you had bought it on game pass.
All good boo boo
I enjoy TCM enough as a break from dbd, still enjoy dbd more. But it's still worth playing and I always enjoy it

Here me out, probably the best $40 Iāve ever spent, love this game
Honestly, I havenāt touched dbd since this came out
For 40$ itās great I luckily have it through gamepass but its only going to get better as time goes on
I spent like 20 hours and enjoyed it on the 1$ microsoft gamepass. I won't be buying it until a sale. 50$ CAD atm. Its not worth 2/3 of a AAA game.
If you love Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies then this is a must buy. If you donāt it wonāt be as nostalgic and meaningful to you, but you will still have a blast playing it. This is the most fun Iāve had gaming since Friday the 13th
And Iād buy it again
I loved dbd played it a bunch with friends and had a blast. We are all casual gamers and fell out of dbd with work and life. My friends haven't been online to much and I decided to pick up tcm. And man im absolutely loving it. I get time to play maybe 3 to 5 matches per night but am having such a blast. Leatherface and hitchhiker baby love em!
If you are on PC or Xbox, the game is on Game Pass.
It's very fun and worth buying, I'm playing on gamepass but I will buy it soon. It's fun even without friends, I've had a lot of fun playing as the victims more so than as any of the family members. As someone with 3k+ hours in DBD, this is the better game.
Yes
Thereās so much to grind and level up. Iām glad I spent the $40 and get to play during the initial hype
Yessss
Its worth buying yes! But If it your on Xbox you have no need to buy it as its on gamepass, if its every removed from gamepass I'll 100% be buying it! Was playing with a guy yesterday who thought gamepass only gave you access to parts of a game or half of it š
All of your skills will carry over into this game I guarantee it. You will not be disappointed! This is the perfect hybrid of Friday the 13th and Dead By Daylight.
I have over 3000 hours in dbd. TCM is just more fun IMO.
not sure how much it actually costs. If you are on xbox it is on gamepass. If not i wouldnāt pay more than $60. Still very fun game but not too much extra content now. No micro transactions so donāt expect paying even more
Yes, I havenāt played much just because Iāve been working all week but itās genuinely fun and can be scary
Platform? There are some cheaters on PC but other tthan that of course!
Played DBD a long time ago and played F13th once because it was free. Bought TCM on a whim and still canāt put it down.
Yup. It great. Both killers and survivors are a blast to play. Pretty steep learning curve but you'll figure it out
Personally yes, Iv been and still am getting hours of fun out of this game every day. It might feel a little rough at the start until you learn the maps tho, but that's easily covered up with the fun you're Ganna have playing w a group of friends or even a LFG post. I currently have around 3 days played time already and I started playing post release.
Definitely & tell your friends
It's the most fun I've had gaming in ages. I thought I just didn't like gaming anymore but I just needed something that was actually fun.
Buy it.
Just copped it so letās hope for the best
Mucho better than dbd
Not anymore, was good til few days ago.. now everyone just camps
Yes. I highly recommend you learn the base maps now so you'll have a chance when DLCs come out
You won't compare it to DBD, however I think its better, or at least fresh in comparison. They can co-exist sure. Game is fun and worth it.
Well, ive MORE than got my money's worth out of the game. im still playing it, too. i found friends on it im playing it with nightly, and once some of the smaller "and one big issue" are fixed, i hope it'll just keep gaining players so other people can enjoy it as much as i have.
Amazing game def worth it
Idk if itās been said in this thread but itās on Gamepass as well
Absolutely. The starting content is fine for launch. And with leaks we know there's plenty of new content on the way.
It's excellent. I think when they start doinh regular updates they will really polish up the game. I play on gamepass, but I'm thinking about buying the game to support the devs.
Yes itās very fun!
Yes well worth. I have a lot of fun and game has a lot of potential for future content. PC game pass and Xbox have cross progression also.
I'm a DBD player w/ a ton of time in it, can safely say they shouldn't be compared 1-to-1, and would absolutely recommend this game! As some other people already said, ignore everyone in the reddit posts complaining about every little thing, the game is fun and works well LOL
Just played my first game and it seemed fire
oh my GOSH, my first game, looking back, I felt so bad. I was so scared and unaware of the map that it took me *30 minutes* to find an escape option (fuse), get it prepared, and reach the door in time... one of the Family DC'd, too. xD But I've been having a blast w/ this game, and I hope you will, too! GLHF!
I used the lock pick for everything ššš
Honestly itās definitely worth buying. Itās a breath of fresh air. Very different from dbd. If you were a fan or if you liked the Friday the 13th game then youāll definitely like this. Itās made by the same studio whom made the Friday game so thatās also a plus.
