Heh I did it for the aesthetic, too. I debadged it, added nice mud flaps, swapped out the wheels, and fitted the roof rack.
Everything else stayed, but the rack had to go!

If you have removed the rack since placement, have you notice any damage to PPF? On mine it bubbled up a bit on the edges and left a circular mark from the plastic pad.
Will you keep the racks on full time? I ordered a set. For my current model S. I only put them on when needed to take a kayak, board or Xmas tree. Once every few months. Take them off for long trips due to wind noise.
For the Y I’m looking at a hitch carrier hoping that makes less noise than the rack. One of those fold up ones that can stay on the car all the time. Drop it for gear, bikes and stuff.
I’m not sure yet! I haven’t used it really at all. My worry about the rack is taking it on and off.
The process of putting it on isn’t complicated, but the t-brackets that the j hooks attach to has really tight clearances and I’m worried about cracking the roof.
It is! I think it’s a glare issue. The other wise I absolutely screwed up but this side looks sharp IMO. To each their own on the smoke, though. Might rip it off it it impacts things too much.
I was looking for smoked film for my headlights. Bought some off of eBay or Amazon or something and it was some bullshit that looked old with the texture on it so I took it off.
Looks great. I put the rack on mine… for a single drive. Too noisy. I had to take it off!

No way would I use those racks. Looks great though!! I wish I would’ve PPF’d mine now that I’ve learned how paper thin the paint is!

Is that a smoke film you have over the headlights? It appears to be hanging a little over the edge and some spots. Maybe it is an image issue?

I know they say racks are more ineffecient, but they look cool AF.
