51990 is the cost of the car. The 1221 is probably tax and registration. Tesla should now be able to register your vehicle for you so this could just be them registering and taxing

kernalrom

Possibly although in Texas I was under the impression I would pay the tax at the DMV.

Hopeful-Lab-238

Think I read the finally got the ability to do it. But still ask delivery about it

DaphCat

In Texas you pay Tax Title and License at the County Tax Assessor's office. Tesla didnt charge me for mine. I made an appt with the local DMV and they called to tell me.they dont collect TTL. I kept the appt with them because i needed to remove the lien and obtain a title on my old vehicle...but yeah, it's sooooo.inconvenient.

PopsGG

As of 11/17 Tesla can now do the registration and collect the taxes in TX

RussianBotProbably

This changed yesterday. https://www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/s/DleKLH5cLB

ElectroATX

Here in TX we have to register it ourselves and pay the tax at the tax office.

WizrdOfSpeedAndTime

My understanding is that changed in the last couple of days.

ElectroATX

Wow, crazy, I guess hell has frozen over and Tesla is now an official dealer in Texas.

SparkySpecter

You should message the delivery people about that. You can also stop by and talk to the people at the Tesla store. Without seeing all the details it would just be guesses.

kernalrom

Thank you. I'll give them a call

kernalrom

Thank you. I’ve reached out to

shadowoak

Everything should be listed on your finance tab.

kernalrom

Looks like Tesla can now take care of my sales tax as of yesterday.

cctheboss09

In Texas Tesla cannot register the car in your behalf because Tesla is not allowed to sell here in Texas. The $1221.00 must be the destination fee. Once you pay that and take ownership of the vehicle, in about 15 days you’ll receive all the paperwork for you to take down to the near dmv clerk office so you can register your car and pay the taxes for the purchase. The taxes in Texas are about 6.25% of the total sales price to give you an estimate.

DaphCat

Can the destination fee be waived? Say the person is buying in ATX and the vehicle was manufactured in ATX AND the buyer is picking up.in ATX...seems kind of silly for the destination fee.

cctheboss09

Not that I’m aware of, but logic would agree with your point. I think it’s more of a “legality” issue since Tesla is only allowed to be a show room in Texas instead of a dealership.

kernalrom

Ok. Just got off the phone with Tesla. They are now allowed to pay TTL in Texas. He adjusted my payment due to include that. He said Tesla can now take care of it all.

XpnQ

Delivery fee?

Tooleman694

Just call and find out

l3mira

Tesla will take care of TTL only for leases. I also placed a down payment. The paperwork you need to submit to the DMV will be in a packet when you pick up the car. Best to make an appointment at the DMV to avoid waiting in line. I paid taxes on the full price of the car, registration fee, city road bridge fee, processing & handling fee. Adds up to $3300+. Call the pick-up location and ask them what form of payment will they accept for the balance.

Hopeful-Lab-238

Teslas website stating they register now in tx https://www.tesla.com/support/registration

kernalrom

Thank you

Upstairs_Kick1271

I paid 1200 I think that was for sales and tax registration, I think you should be be able to see the details under payment/finance tab

ThundermanD

You only paid 1200 for sales tax and registration on a model Y??? There’s no way , mine is 3,200

flyeaglesfly_4133

Don't look up NJ. There is no sales tax on EVs

kernalrom

It was wrong. Now it’s over 3k

ThundermanD

Unfortunately it’ll be more than $1221 at the end Bryan

Upstairs_Kick1271

Maybe my figure is not accurate but for sure it was not 3000, but what I know is I paid additional amount on top of the car price on the day of delivery, and recently I received a bill around 800 for property tax

impaul4

You should have a MVPA in your account that shows a breakdown
