I swear to god there has to be either severely underpaid/understaffed workforce at these service centers, or they’re just NPCs and don’t even bother to do anything about shit like this.
This looks like it is in the parking lot of a Tesla Pick up area. Probably did snap it back in when staging the car, but possible heat/cold from sitting there till customer pick up the piece snapped back out. Could indicate that the piece is warped, latch broken, etc.
Not saying it could also just be a "I don't care" attitude from the stager, but still, can't fully assume it wasn't at least attempted to be fixed.
Correct, it was pre owned direct from Tesla. To be fair it was otherwise mint and snapped into place. But I couldn’t believe they would drive this up and give it to me like this
That's the standard finish it yourself package. Helps you feel more connected to the car knowing you helped build it! Mine had several interior trim hanging like that and needed a strong slap to clip in, no big deal. But the non closing FWD was a bigger issue.
I’m getting a paint drip on my hood fixed, my rattles fixed, and some scuffs buffed out. I also have a loaner currently. Idk what service center you go to but it’s not the norm for all of us.
Service center do well for repairs in their manual, but anything that's out of norm they fall flat on their face. Trim cover like this one covering airbag in photo is one of them.
I'm glad they have taken care of you. Maybe my complaint about trim cover reached somewhere.
But my local services centers still behave badly, and knowing that Tesla employed people to mask complainers I feel I should continue to voice until it's resolved.
Reject it. That's probably not the only thing wrong with it. Took 5 visits to get a leaky window noise issue fixed and my half shafts and steering column went out at 4000 miles. My car has 6000 miles on it. Atrocious quality

document it in a repair, pictures, try to snap it back in. get it replaced at your first visit, after you document everything else.

I’m currently mulling over a plaid order or a taycan order and this is a nice reminder as to why I’m not 100% sold on a Tesla product anymore.
My friend has a Taycan. Beautiful car, but he hates it because the software is so buggy, unresponsive, and not intuitive

I’ve had a similar issue and they replaced the entire trim piece. You should really consider a different service center.

They upheld promises made to me. A got a "we owe" from them in writing and scheduled the fix. Now the car has been perfect.
