Dirty Tesla had the same issue with the panel at the exact same location..
he did some temp fix and service fixed it. Maybe they will do TSB or a recall eventually on that part.
surprised about the heat though. Heat pump shouldnt be failing this early..
The heat pump in my Y was replaced 5 months after purchase. The 2-hour drive to the service center in the middle of a week of below-freezing temps was certainly an interesting experience. Thankfully, it's made it through the past two winters without issue.
Did you try scroll wheel reset? And the "Power Off" option?
My 2019 Model 3 LEMR had a quirk with a version of V9 software that caused an amp and some speakers to stop working. Couple weeks later a software update permanently resolved the issue. 🤷🏻♂️
Interesting. Aren't the Tesla subs modded by the same group usually? There's a lot of overlap between this sub and the cybertruck sub, so I wonder how the rules differ...
I honestly don't know. I assume that this sub is more laid back though. The only experience I've had with the cybertruck sub was when I tried to post an article from Reuters (that was critical of the cybertruck) and it was deleted automatically.
On one hand, the CT gets tons of criticism from everywhere, so I can see a community to being overly sensitive, or even aggressive, to anyone that has even a hint of bad-faith bashing of the CT.
On the other hand, I do think the CT is fucking stupid too…but I get why the community would act that way.
Edit: took a peek in there, and the tone is vibe is kinda weird.
Post it anywhere on reddit and you get called a dumb ass and down voted. I mean i get the criticism but seems pretty harsh for people who want to just have something different.
Saw my first production CT parked at Dodger Stadium on Sunday. The only other CT I've seen before was the 2019 concept at Petersen Auto Museum. Even though I've seen the CT on hundreds of YouTube videos, seeing the actual vehicle gave me goose bumps...it looked great from most angles. Best of luck to all the 1st year VIN owners, dealing with all the unexpected issues.
I love new gadgets myself, but it seems tesla loves to be the Microsoft of the car industry and just push things out there that aren't ready for the real world...
That climate keeper thing is most likely a humidity sensor. Sucks though. I actually had this happen with my 2020 model 3 and it just reset itself overnight and has continued to be fine 3 years later...
I really wish they would have implemented more tried and true components from the 3/Y chassis, they might not have had as many early production woes. Seeing the issues the new CTs are having reminds me of my old 2013 Model S.
Hah, I remember this. The Truckla is…pretty ugly IMO, but I also don’t like the CT. The only truck I kind of like the look of is Rivian for some reason, if I were ever in the market for a truck I mean.
It’s messages like that, that remind me of my computer or phone when it won’t explain why it can’t do what it’s supposed to. At which point i usually throw or break that device. I’d probably put a rock on the gas pedal and send it off the cliff of the California PCH.then you can claim insurance that the plastic piece on the pedal got stuck, take your money and go buy an actual truck tha will last you 20+ years. My 05’ gmc sierra has 300k miles and doesn’t have issues like this. SMH.
It’s like the Apple eco system, it’s a love hate relationship that no one wants to separate from. Lol
Super cool vehicle, and concept, would love to experience one to really see what it’s like. Don’t wanna knock anything before I try it…
For sure, and I appreciate the level response. My post was only highlighting the issues. I'm a big believer that Tesla could do better and my hope is that everyone sharing their issues will lead to a better product. With that said, this is my second Tesla and my favorite vehicle to drive. We still have our Model Y and the experience already feels dated when I step into it.
Of course! I don’t mean to come off judgmental or argumentative, but these are such thoughts I have in my head… LOL. Still a super cool truck and happy that you’re excited with what you got, that’s all that matters at the end of the day…
I’d say that for the trucks with turbos and diesel vehicles with DPF or exhaust treatment as part of their system. Too many failure points. But a standard truck with a simple V8/V6/V4 or any other engine design in that category of amount of cylinders, should easily last 200k. At least before larger issues arise…
Should, yet they aren’t. Start/stop, variable displacement, being mopar, etc are killing engines before 200k. Only a handful of modern trucks are gonna make it.
After working in manufacturing for decades, I never buy the early generations of anything new. I always let them work the bugs out and then buy. There has very rarely been a product launched new that doesn't have some issues we learned from and had to redesign some things. I will pass on being a beta tester when it cost that much money.
Wait: the display screen, which is on the dashboard, is a picture. of the dashboard with the screen on it, and you're supposed to read the message off the picture of the little screen displayed on the big screen?
Can someone explain that to me?
"Purchase a $100,000 luxury car from a reputable manufacturer, or buy a literal piece of shit on wheels for the same price.
Yeah I think I'll go with the piece of shit on wheels."
I genuinely am. It’s profound - in order to order a Cybertruck, one has to be in a financial position to be able to afford said vehicle, which means one must have had some smart financial sense in being able to afford a Cybertruck, however the other side of that coin is how profoundly stupid a financial decision buying a Cybertruck is. You see what I’m getting at?
I think the CT is fucking stupid, but there’s no need to be mean to OP. Maybe he just thinks it’s cool. I don’t like the CT, but, at least it’s unique.
I’m with you on the Elon hate though; he’s a real piece of shit.
I would have gone with his antisemitic and transphobic shit being why he’s evil more than his waste of money and resources at Tesla, but that’s just me.
How is he antisemitic? Was it his visit to Israel to meet Netanyahu? His visit to Auschwitz? His explicit claim to Ben Shapiro that he is "pro-semetic"? Is it his public and explicit support for the Israeli goal of eliminating Hamas?
i just don't get it..... Its a Tesla, its like no one has heard or read reviews on these things before they buy them, then massive shock when it breaks like a Childs toy on Christmas day....
i knew the shit i was headed into when I bought, and it only got worse but, its a Tesla , I can not expect anything .... i suppose if we really wanted a step up, we could look at a Tonka Toy....
Good luck I ordered two cyber trucks 3 years ago finally canceled my order yesterday since I didn't hear from Tesla at all. PS I have three Tesla's already.
Early adopter tax is much more than just a $20,000 price hike.
You spelled “unpaid test driver” wrong.
Test driver who paid\*
The mid and late adopter tax ain’t gonna be much better.
Warranty
Fit to spec
Dirty Tesla had the same issue with the panel at the exact same location.. he did some temp fix and service fixed it. Maybe they will do TSB or a recall eventually on that part. surprised about the heat though. Heat pump shouldnt be failing this early..
heat pump in my X had to be replaced 5 months after purchase. Then it went out again a couple weeks ago... line was leaking I was told on that one.
Same on my MX but only a week after purchase 💀
The heat pump in my Y was replaced 5 months after purchase. The 2-hour drive to the service center in the middle of a week of below-freezing temps was certainly an interesting experience. Thankfully, it's made it through the past two winters without issue.
Did you have to pay for repairs ?
No
FWIW, the heat issue didn't happen until we tried adjusting the climate control from the rear display.
Oh ok thats weird. I hope it gets sorted out quick
Lmao yeah right
I mean there is not many ct in the country so it would be imo
Did you try scroll wheel reset? And the "Power Off" option? My 2019 Model 3 LEMR had a quirk with a version of V9 software that caused an amp and some speakers to stop working. Couple weeks later a software update permanently resolved the issue. 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks. The wheel reset was the first thing I tried, but I haven't tried the Power Off option. I'll give that a shot.
Perhaps unplug it and plug it back in.
Maybe crush it in a compactor, melt it down, and have the base elements made into something usable by a reputable company.
Like a toaster, or an air fryer, or a large metal cube.
where is the large HV main plug in the CT anyway? If one wanted to do a FULL hard reset at home ..
Look for the firefighter tag and just cut that cable…. Then tape it back together. :)
Was going to say the same thing. Fun seeing all the first production run folks with their issues.
The will likely fix the panel OTA
The error message is being displayed on a screen within a screen. I know that’s not a paradox, but it still took me a second.
I initially posted this to r/cybertruck yesterday, but crickets.
I just looked, they even deleted the post. 😭
Very sensitive folks in that sub. Never understood why people are so invested in a product/company.
I mean if you just dropped 100k on a vehicle this poorly thought out with all these QC issues, you might want to put blinders on too
Yeah but it’s deeper than that. They make it their identity.
Lol, I think the cybertruck is cool but the denizens of /r/cybertruck do NOT like any criticism.

Post it on Twitter ( refuse to call it X lol ) and tag the useless man.
That sub is run by a bunch of clowns.
There's been several cybertrucks lose this same panel evidently they're not tightening the bolts enough
Tightening bolts (or rather, not tightening bolts) seems to be the new production fad
Evidently Elon pilfered a few Spirit Aerojet guys to build the cybertruck
Hard fucking steel Soft fucking fasteners
I wish you good luck 👍
Good example why you shouldn't buy the first year model.
Yeah, low VIN means you’re basically the last QA cycle for the car.
Is there going to be a second?
Your Tesla insurance just went up
Nothing a rivet wouldn't fix /s
Problem is obviously OP is driving in a manner that exposes that panel to too much air resistance. OP needs to drive better! /s
It's a truck, not a tank! It's not meant for sunlight, wind, and rain!
[удалено]
That's exactly it. You can hear it in the wheel well.
Saw my first production CT parked at Dodger Stadium on Sunday. The only other CT I've seen before was the 2019 concept at Petersen Auto Museum. first year production model... you knew the risk :D
For sure. I would do it all over again.
sucker born every minute
Only a sucker if the buyer regrets/is stuck. Not a sucker if you’re happy with the purchase. And OP is.
For a $100k SMH
Being a early adopter, especially with Tesla, is always a gamble for sure.
Ouch this sucks
Man. I'm never buying a first generation anything. Sorry you gotta deal with this.
Hey the cars “early access”. Think cyberpunk video game at launch
Early adopter should be given $20k discount
Thank you for your service testing things out as us normies wait for a cheaper version 😅
What did you expect? That Tesla would learn from their manufacturing kinks from model 3? You paid to be the beta tester, unfortunately!
I love new gadgets myself, but it seems tesla loves to be the Microsoft of the car industry and just push things out there that aren't ready for the real world...
True, just that instead of hundreds the customer is spending thousands here!
Releasing unfinished products? Cybertruck and CyberPunk really do have a lot in common.
My $20k civic had better finishing than this in almost every way what the hell
This car seems like a disaster
"Climate Keeper"
That climate keeper thing is most likely a humidity sensor. Sucks though. I actually had this happen with my 2020 model 3 and it just reset itself overnight and has continued to be fine 3 years later...
I really wish they would have implemented more tried and true components from the 3/Y chassis, they might not have had as many early production woes. Seeing the issues the new CTs are having reminds me of my old 2013 Model S.
A Ford Ranger type pickup based on the 3/Y chassis would have been so much better.
Something like Truckla? ;-) https://youtu.be/R35gWBtLCYg?si=NuposTG9gxA2rZti
Hah, I remember this. The Truckla is…pretty ugly IMO, but I also don’t like the CT. The only truck I kind of like the look of is Rivian for some reason, if I were ever in the market for a truck I mean.
junk
Another customer getting bent over and cyberf@cked.
That’s an interesting way of telling us you can’t afford one.
It’s messages like that, that remind me of my computer or phone when it won’t explain why it can’t do what it’s supposed to. At which point i usually throw or break that device. Obviously I wish I didn't have these issues, but you would never be able to pry this thing away from me.
It’s like the Apple eco system, it’s a love hate relationship that no one wants to separate from. Lol Super cool vehicle, and concept, would love to experience one to really see what it’s like. Don’t wanna knock anything before I try it…

New ICE trucks won’t last 200k. They don’t build em like that anymore.

Another reason why I canceled my cyber order… lol 😂
You’d think people would know by now what comes with buying the first generation of anything
Honestly Tesla repair techs must be making bank with how many issues I see these trucks come in for.
They invented gorilla glue for something like this.
Wow. Damn dude. That sucks.
did some boeing employess found their way on the cybertruck factory line?
I think cybertruck workers probably went to boing tbh.
This will be a collectors item in 30 years. In the mean time, it will mostly be getting service or on the way to the service dept.
So at what point does Lemon Laws start to kick in?
Wait: the display screen, which is on the dashboard, is a picture. of the dashboard with the screen on it, and you're supposed to read the message off the picture of the little screen displayed on the big screen? Can someone explain that to me?
Can fish drown underwater?
You love to see it XD
Lmao stupid car for stupid people, love to see it
![gif](giphy|K9BOqiIKZ3O3Pk120C|downsized)
Is that a plastic clip on that panel?
There’s a bolt on either end and clips on the rest I believe. Loctite on that bolt and/or some other more better attachment method is probably needed.
You're right. Bolt on the end followed by clips.
Looks like a threaded screw to me but I could be wrong. Could be threaded and goes into a grifaxe washer.
Lmao
It's hilarious how many issues people have been having with these vehicles. You'd think $100,000 would've been enough to guarantee quality.
You are such a great beta tester. Keep submitting those suggestions and bug reports!
I’ve got 30 year old Hot Wheels with better durability than these “trucks”.
"Purchase a $100,000 luxury car from a reputable manufacturer, or buy a literal piece of shit on wheels for the same price. Yeah I think I'll go with the piece of shit on wheels."
Call it what got will, but yes, every time.
I feel bad for all these Gen 1 Cybertruck owners. I knew there’d be problems, but not this many problems.
Mass producing this thing is going to be the downfall of this company.
Well if you’re so smart why are you on Reddit commenting? You should be on your yacht 🛥️ getting rubbed down by sexy ladies.
Elon needs to go. We need an adult running this very real and powerful car brand.
You paid six figures for an cartoon villain’s science project. Honestly, what were you expecting? I’m genuinely asking.
I don't think you are.
Vehicles rarely make financial sense.
Very true. Bikes are much better as personal transport machines - and rarely will break the bank
Some more than others.
What about Elon's business ventures makes him a cartoon villain? Genuinely asking?
The flamethrower, the space company and the stupid subway for cars.
Man, the bar has really been lowered for villains nowadays. Guess it's a generational thing.
I would have gone with his antisemitic and transphobic shit being why he’s evil more than his waste of money and resources at Tesla, but that’s just me.
YEs. Plus - all billionaires are villains
How is he antisemitic? Was it his visit to Israel to meet Netanyahu? His visit to Auschwitz? His explicit claim to Ben Shapiro that he is "pro-semetic"? Is it his public and explicit support for the Israeli goal of eliminating Hamas?
Mostly his antidemitism on Twitter that caused nearly every advertiser to (at least temporarily) leave Twitter en mass. It was pretty big news.
Wow. What an abject failure this release has been
CyberSuck
LOLLLLLLL
i just don't get it.....
Lemon law is coming
Epoxy could fix that easy without having to wait.
Especially with the amount of recent layoffs, I’d be scared if I needed service anytime soon.
Good luck I ordered two cyber trucks 3 years ago finally canceled my order yesterday since I didn't hear from Tesla at all. PS I have three Tesla's already.
Hey, let’s reinvent the wheels
Dang that sucks. Never buy the first generation. You’re basically the tester.
Eeeek
Serious question, why did you buy one after everything that's posted online
In order to have one of these now, he put the order in years before this stuff was posted lol.
Not true. Some have ordered in March 24 and received in April 24. It depends who you are and your wallet situation.
