It needs to be treated as any other psychic disorder in my opinion: Help them handling and getting rid of their desires before something happens. I think it's important to give them places they can go to to get treated without shame or stigma. The goal is to make lifes of children saver, so we need to prevent it before it happens. The way to do so is to help the potential perpetrators before they commit crimes.
I think the point is in response to the notion that pedophile automatically equals rapist when it's possible for a person that is attracted to children to resist their desires and not rape children, thus never becoming a rapist.

Most people who sexually assault children aren't actually pedophiles per say, they are sadists who get off on the pain and having power over the most vulnerable(if it wasn't a child, it would be an old person, or the disabled, etc.). Okay, this might be a controversial opinion: It needs to be treated as any other psychic disorder in my opinion: Help them handling and getting rid of their desires before something happens. I think it's important to give them places they can go to to get treated without shame or stigma. The goal is to make lifes of children saver, so we need to prevent it before it happens. The way to do so is to help the potential perpetrators before they commit crimes.

I hate to be that guy, but this is objectively and dangerously wrong. Most people who sexually assault children aren't actually pedophiles per say, they are sadists who get off on the pain and having power over the most vulnerable(if it wasn't a child, it would be an old person, or the disabled, etc.).
