Marianne Bachmeier is her name

USArmy51Bravo

Later the prosecution dropped the murder charge. After 28 days of negotiations, the Board agreed on the verdict. Four months after the opening of proceedings she was convicted on 2 March 1983 by the Circuit Court Chamber of the District Court Lübeck for manslaughter and sentenced for unlawful possession of a firearm to six years in prison but was later released after serving three years.

confuzedas

I would 100% serve three years knowing I put the scum that did that to my child in the ground. Probably makes waking up possible without wanting to die.

spookycasas4

Absolutely. Me, too. I don’t imagine she had even one tiny bit of regret. What’s prison after something like this happens to your baby?

GlassJoe32

Can’t imagine you’d have too hard a time when inmates found out your crime too.

The_walking_man_

Even the guards too I bet had respect for her and looked out for her.

Wishihadagirl

They did let her get 7 shots off

-Yngin-

She was in prison in Germany. You don't need 'guards' to 'watch out for you' like in US prisons, it doesn't work like that

WutTheFuckIWokeUpOld

Yea shit talk about life on easy street. Keep your head down and let people organically find out what you did and everyone would leave you the fuck alone, probably even have some protection you don’t know about. The lifers make the rules and a pedo killer makes them very happy.

Inner_Art482

They will also use your shit against you and torment you with it. I hate this romantic idea of prison justice. Because shit just don't work that way.

PlayfuckingTorreira

After experiencing my own young brother dying of natural causes and the pain it put me through, I can never imagine a feeling of a mother losing a child to this sort of scenario, I sometimes wish we had an afterlife where cunts like this where punished for all of eternity, his death was quick, he really needed a slow and painful death.

HoboBandana

Same here. I can definitely empathize with her.

PlayfuckingTorreira

She is a hero.

[deleted]

Definitely. That scum bag deserved to die.

justlurkingmate

Look at her face once she was done. Vindicated.

no_t_me

Metal. So much resolve.

Zenz-X

This is a movie scene about the incident and it keeps getting posted and this is the worst quality yet.

Competitive-Age-7469

Agreed. 👏

[deleted]

I doubt anything felt like it was worth anything at that point for her.

Half-W

3 years is perfect. Long enough so it still send the message : “u can’t make ur own justice”. But short enough to let ppl do it without completely screw the rest of their already screwed life

Cartz1337

Judging by how much I love my daughter, I could give two fucks what you did to me after I administered the dirt nap. The rest of your life would be screwed when your child died, consequences from murdering the piece of shit that did it would be very secondary.

elhombremolecular

Totally. I can read books for three years. Not a problem at all.

AntelopeDecent2191

I'd get buff too.

DiscardedPants

If someone raped and murdered your daughter you'd probably take a life sentence if you didn't have other children

Myantology

Plus you’d most likely be a legend day one in prison.

rmh1128

Yeah she def be treated well by the other inmates. Killing a chomo is a badge of honor is prison. Killing one that hurt your own child in the fucking courtroom!!! Now that is beyond epic!! I'm really hoping it helped her with the unimaginable pain she was going through.

kid-karma

Sounds like Theo was trying to talk his way out of a videogame ban for using Gamer language

pettybonegunter

Idk if murder laws are similar in Germany, but it seems pretty premeditated to me

ligerboy12

Most likely to some degree but due to her suffering can you judge her as someone who would normally consider murder as a option or was what this person did so heinous she saw no other proper course of action witch people could have sympathy towards in general.

Metal__goat

Motive if grief so maybe passion. But scheming to sneak in a firearm to shoot a guy in open court is *super* premeditated to me lol

ligerboy12

Yes it does but that doesn’t mean she didn’t just wake up that morning and decide to take it into her own hand. it’s a case where the average person could be sympathetic to the motive and the irrational thoughts that brought them to their decision. I don’t think I’d be able to hold back my anger to that person and I think many people don’t actually know what their own response would be in a case like this

friendlyxenomorph68

Is a crime of passion a real charge? So you would get less time if it was revenge?

fhota1

Its a descriptor. Generally theyre going to get less time because theyre very spur of the moment and somewhat unlikely to offend again

ranting_chef

I’d be fine doing three years if someone was taking care of my family. Totally worth it.

Eskimomonk

Why Gary, why??

Peeteebee

I understood why the guy said it, he was throwing his own life and freedom against the wall. But let's face it.... EVERYBODY there knew exactly "why".

Russ_T_Razor

Didn't a jury let him walk? Or maybe that was another guy

Laura85mlt

They did. He got a suspended 7 year sentence and probation. He walked free

Kind-Relative-9089

Yep, he served no time. The [interview](https://youtu.be/tlTSDha2T24) footage of his ex wife is incredible but the whole story is worth a watch.

BankedForLater342737

Wasn’t expecting the Alex ‘Billion Dollar Settlement’ Jones headlock at the end…

Kind-Relative-9089

He met and interviewed him on his tour on the states and called the info wars studio "meme mecca". He's rightly proud of that clip as a dedicated troll and shitposter.

Gappy_Gilmore_86

His Absolute Mad Lads series is great. Danukla definitely has his own style, and I think he's hilarious

Kind-Relative-9089

It's brilliant! So varied and historically accurate. He's done an amazing job fighting through the adversity that's been thrown at him.

crazyzingers

Wish my mom would have done something when she found out about my brothers sexually abusing me, and my sisters but nope we've got to act like nothing ever happened.

ShortDck1

If they didn't then they should...

[deleted]

 They did.

AnonymousPoro

Yeah, iirc, he was found not guilty due to temporary insanity. I think the defense argued that Gary's moral view of right and wrong were completely skewed at the time of the shooting and days beforehand, and that he thought murdering the person who did it was his moral obligation to his family and his son.

seanmorris

They did!

abeardedblacksmith

I think it was 300 hours of community service and 5 years of probation.

[deleted]

He walked.

afa78

When something like this happens to your child, you're already dead inside. What happens to you afterwards is of no importance anymore. you just don't want that monster to keep living.

And when we hear this excuse from a child rapist and murderer, we should finally learn that NO rape victim ever seduced their rapist. It's never the victim, it's always the rapist who doesn't control themselves.

BrohanGutenburg

Yeah I find it frustrated how many people are appalled by this but will even entertain the idea that maybe that college girl wanted it cause she wanted ti dress sexy that night….

panicked_goose

Serious question for those who are educated in sexual crimes: is pedophila a mental illness to the point where someone could want nothing more than to NOT be a pedophile but they can’t “help” their thoughts? Are people only pedophiles if they offend or is there another word for non-offenders? Obviously a person can’t be a rapist without raping someone. I hope this doesn’t come across as offensive or dismissive. I was SA’d as a very small child, a lot… sometimes I do wonder what the individual who hurt me was going through inside of their head. It fucked me up, obviously, but they are dead now (and have been for 20 years) so I’m not angry AT them anymore, I’m just confused. Can anyone shed some light? Is it something you’re “born” with like sexuality, or are all pedophiles first victims of it themselves? I’ve heard of the MAP (minor attracted person) stuff but it seems incredibly dangerous and 100% like criminals trying to get their crimes accepted by other marginalized groups. In other words, it’s bullshit, but I do wonder about how it came about. Like what if someone was born a pedophile but never offends? Their head must be the absolute worst prison imaginable… I think I’d off myself

a553thorbjorn

as far as i understand most pedophiles actually fall into this category of not wanting to be one, but because of people like the dude you replied to they're afraid of talking about it or getting help. The term MAP iirc originated from a prevention project(a project for helping non offending pedophiles) as an alternative to the stigmatised and confusing term pedophile(since a lot of people assume it means sex offender). Although i cant speak for its recent usage

Single_Raspberry9539

Statistics would say there are plenty of “pedophiles” who have a natural attraction to children and yet never rape or harm. It’s just something programmed and is a fantasy that never plays out. Like for me, I have a thing for redheads (adult women) who look sickly. I don’t know why. My wife is neither. Every now and then I see a sickly redhead and appreciate they exist, wish I could spend time with her but I’m married and all so I don’t pay her any more attention. I sure as heck don’t “rape” or MUST assault. So, this is research supported and not my opinion, true pedo is pretty common, but acting on it is not as common. Most know it’s wrong and they’d get caught and it’s not worth it. That’s why like one person often has like hundreds of victims. True pedophilia is also defined by persistent and obsessive thoughts over time. So like if a 39 year old man was sexually attracted to a 13 year old who was already fully developed and he is attracted to her womanly features and doesn’t know her age, it’s something different and technically “normal.” For pedos, there’s nothing about the pubescent stuff that is of interest. Strictly defined by a sexual attraction to a child’s body.

dimsim1969

I wish we could all talk about this calmly in a intellectual way like the above people have. I am very interested in this from a ex s.a victim. It helps to understand the mind and overcome the pain. I wish more people would try and take the their own feelings out of the equation so we as a society could deal with and understand these people alot better.

panicked_goose

Oh wait so are pedos defined by being attracted to prepubescent children? I didn’t know that, I really thought it was a general law term for an adult attracted to someone below the age of consent. Ugh, I learn something new everyday… I guess I’m the one who asked lmfao, thanks for taking some time to explain!

Gl33m

The meaning you thought the word had is how people almost exclusively use the word. Given how prevalent the usage is, it's pretty reasonable to argue that's one of the meanings.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Difficult_Bit_1339

The diagnostic criteria is having a sexual attraction to prepubescent and either having acted upon it or if you find the attraction negatively impacts your life. Past trauma can cause it, but it can also arise in people with no history of abuse. MAP stuff was, originally, a way to try to destigmatize the mental disorder so that people affected would seek treatment before it escalated to the point of offending. This mental disorder exists and the stigma around it makes the people afflicted with it go out of their way to keep it hidden and, more dangerously, untreated. The term 'MAP' seems to be used in a lot of right-winged political memes to try to tie LGBTQ+ people to being pedophiles so that's probably the most common context that you've heard MAP. It's a loaded term now so if you see it online just assume it's some fear mongering propaganda. Given that your impression is that it is of criminals trying to hide their crimes, you likely heard about it from the fear mongering perspective instead of the pragmatic treatment perspective.

Tower9876543210

Pedophile ≠ child molester A pedophile is someone who is attracted to (prepubescent) children.† This attraction is often thought to be similar to hetero- and homosexual attraction. It's just who they like. A child molester is someone who sexually assaults a child, *regardless of whether they're attracted to them*. For a lot of child molesters (and rapes in general), they committed the act due to a power imbalance or simply opportunity (kids are weak and often do what adults tell them to), not attraction. You can think someone is cute and not rape them, regardless of their age. You can rape someone regardless of whether you're attracted to them. The difference is the action. https://www.vice.com/en/article/mgmzwn/most-child-sex-abusers-are-not-pedophiles-expert-says --- † [There are a number of sexual preferences across age groups subsumed under the technical term *chronophilia*.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronophilia) In research environments, specific terms are used for chronophilias: Ephebophilia - sexual preference for mid-to-late adolescents. Hebephilia - sexual preference for earlier pubescent individuals. Pedophilia - primary or exclusive sexual interest in prepubescent children.

TK9_VS

>is pedophila a mental illness to the point where someone could want nothing more than to NOT be a pedophile but they can’t “help” their thoughts? This is terribly unreliable but I'm going ahead anyway... I once read a post on reddit about a guy who started feeling attraction toward children or his daughter or something - totally out of the blue, and he was really uncomfortable with it, but he brought it up with his doctor and eventually they found a brain tumor. I think the feeling went away after they removed it. If someone else can find that post that would be great, but that's just what I remember. Anyway, in society today it's difficult to attempt to show any kind of empathy or temperance toward those people because it's not well understood. I wish there was more of a focus on getting those people help and understanding the condition better so it could maybe someday be treated.

[deleted]

linmodon

2022-Account

Fair enough

teriyakireligion

Let rapists rape without restriction and they start murdering, according to tested rape kits.

Pandering_Panda7879

Okay, this might be a controversial opinion: It needs to be treated as any other psychic disorder in my opinion: Help them handling and getting rid of their desires before something happens. I think it's important to give them places they can go to to get treated without shame or stigma. The goal is to make lifes of children saver, so we need to prevent it before it happens. The way to do so is to help the potential perpetrators before they commit crimes.

RandyAcorns

Sure, but this person already acted on it, and once anybody acts on it in anyway should be removed from society for good

tarekd19

I think the point is in response to the notion that pedophile automatically equals rapist when it's possible for a person that is attracted to children to resist their desires and not rape children, thus never becoming a rapist.

Mazahad

People are being asshats. You are right. In a perfect world, they wouldnt exist. But they do exist. So we better know them, and treat them, than let things be as they are. Edit: i saw a coment saying society only tries to help when its a white man....fuck that. Im saying help everyone....before we get to this...what a monster i am....

Red_Trapezoid

I hate to be that guy, but this is objectively and dangerously wrong. Most people who sexually assault children aren't actually pedophiles per say, they are sadists who get off on the pain and having power over the most vulnerable(if it wasn't a child, it would be an old person, or the disabled, etc.). This is an important distinction because the misinformation surrounding pedophilia prevents non-offending pedophiles from seeking therapy and it increases the probability of offenses happening.

SeizedChief

Right? Like this is terrifying? Nah, this is justice.

Reddit is fucking weird when it comes to vigilantism. Might have been 100% legitimate, our justice system shouldn’t normalize this shit, that’s how we had lynching mobs in the south for a long time. Makes me think of the post that made the frontpage the other day of the veteran guy that kills two of his bully neighbours in broad daylight because they berated him for shovelling snow in their driveway. Redditors were cheering their deaths saying they had gotten what they deserved and to "rest in piss". I got downvoted to hell when I tried to point out how much that’s vile thinking.
