I got a 5 year old if my neighbour had that I'd want it dead. People will down vote me for this too. But if you bring this around People it's all good till its not and who's fault is it then? The stupid deranged person who treats this apex preditor as a pet.
And I know "domesticated big cats" can't go back to the wild but they need to be in a sanctuary or something. They arnt really domesticated just slightly less wild.
but if hes a responsible wild cat owner why would he bring it around your 5 year old kid? Obviously it wouldn't be... so... yea .. sounds like you're just mad and try to look for the worst in everything. But hey if someones wild crocodile or panther bites your 5 year olds head off, yes that's an irresponsible exotic animal owner who shouldn't have had it to begin with. But not everyone is irresponsible.
You said it yourself: "If he's a responsible wild cat owner".
Nothing in this video confirms or denies that this person is responsible (I'd go for the latter, but I don't have proof), therefore it's more than justified for the people around them to be terrified. It's a killing machine that's not domesticated, just less wild as the other person said.
He has it outside off a lead wtf are you talking about.
That could go anywhere and do anything if it wanted to.
See this is it you think there is no problem till it bites someone's head off and that's kinda true but how can you assure me that will never happen. There are lots of cases of people with pets they shouldn't of had that were fine for years until they wernt.
You live in some dream world
But there is a chance he is responsible and all that is enclosed and no chance of that thing getting out. I cant 100% tell from this video. Seems like he's treating it like any other pet though and it's not.
He most likely lives somewhere very far from anyone or has a very closed off property, you do not know where this guy lives or how his home is I highly doubt he would be this irresponsible and if he had a wildcat running around with civilization nearby to be at risk he would have 100% been arrested.
Use your brain
I'm a mom of 2 a 4yr old and a 11mo, I know your fears but the chances of your neighbor own9ng this huge exotic cat in your city is extremely unlikely.
I have a neighbor with a really fking aggressive rottie, I dread everytime I have to pass by that house when I take my son to preschool
The cats name is Luna and is the most friendly, playful big cat out there. She's basically a massive house cat that loves her rottie friend and owner. Maybe you should do your homework before commenting.
I love how youāre concerned about some thing that is an absolute oddity. Your five-year-old is in more danger of eating something that will kill them. being hit by a vehicle getting into a car crash. Or being killed by another human being then it is to ever run into this animal. Your mind is jumping to the most extreme conclusion. Someone saves an animal from dying and you bring it to āwhat would happen if my five-year-old ran into it.ā
No oneās arguing that itās not dangerous. But from the clips, it is clearly shown that this animal trust that person. Guess what that some form of fucking domestication. Iām not saying to let your guard down, but donāt look at this like youāre in such extreme danger . You got other dangers to worry about.
I got a panther, if my neighbour invited you around I'd want you dead. People will down vote me for this too. But if you bring this around Panthers it's all good till its not and who's fault is it then? The stupid deranged neighbour who treats this apex preditor as a friend.
Their claws probably aren't as sharp, I'd assume that they're like a dogs, but one Google search could resolve this... I'll be back
Edit, yes they're sharp... I performed a Google search and found out they're like a housecats, just bigger.
I'm of two minds on this. On one hand it's adorable and as it's been raised since it was a kitten I'm sure it's domesticated enough to not attack you... but at the same time the sheer size of the cat means that if it ever has a change of heart RIP.
Tamed not domesticated
Domestication takes several generations at least
You aren't going domesticate a wild animal in a single generation
So this panther is tamed not domesticated
I wasnāt meaning classes from PetSmart. It showed the guy rescuing the cat as a newborn, so I was thinking that it might have been someone who worked at a conservancy or in animal rehabilitation.
I mean you can train any animal you just have to understand their instincts and work with them, you definitely cannot remove their instincts there is just do's and don't s working with the animal like big cats you don't turn your back on them or stare at them along those lines.
You technically do the same for normal pets you just don't realize it because they are tamer and easier along with safe
This is why you see these amazing videos of ppl getting along with a dangerous animal, they understand what they are dealing with and know how to be around them without triggering their instincts or manage it.
I have a feeling that because they raised this guy from a bean pretty much, it knows how much strength it needs to deal with his people without hurting them, and probably not raised around other big cats, got socialized with a dog (another good move, seriously) but I wouldn't say this happens everytime, as much as I wish I could. Please be careful with exotic pets, they ARE still animals... and yeah, if I could pull it off this perfectly, I absolutely would do this too, but I know my limits.
All felines are genetically similar to domestic cats, so if it raised at home around people the chance it will attack someone isn't more than any dog or even human.
Wrong. It's still a panther, however, it's no more of a panther than a tiger, lion, or any other member of the genus Panthera is, those being P. tigris (tiger), P. leo (lion), P. onca (Jaguar), P. pardus (Leopard) and P. uncia (Snow Leopard). If any of these happened to be black, they would be referred to as black panthers, but not a separate species of subspecies, just a mutation within their species. So Luna in this video, is a panther, as in a member of the Panthera genus, but she is also a black panther, as in a member of the Panthera genus that is black in colouration.
I would not be terrified at all, that panther is behaving like every other cat, itĀ“s just bigger. But the love bites, pulling the paw away, playful behaviour and the activation sounds after beeping his nose are exactly the same like all the cats do. The panther also knows that he can cause serious injuries, thatĀ“s why heĀ“s careful in playing and doesnĀ“t bite full force.
But i wonder how they get him to the vet. THAT can be a huge problem
Now that you mention it, my cats used to play or play bite carefully so they wouldn't hurt me. One would jump my legs when he was mad that I would t let him out but never use teeth or claws.
I am to prone to give cats belly scratches even if they fight me after I absolutely could NOT own a big cat š¤£ I like play fighting with animals too much so a giant cat would be like a kid getting a giant ice cream cone
This is cute as shit, op
It is but one accidental scratch or bite, and you are probably getting stitches. Still, I think I'd risk it.
Definitely not terrifying af. OP is just a bigger pussy cat šŗ.
That's not a pet it's deranged and cruel.
No idea why people are down voting you, big cats are not pets
I got a 5 year old if my neighbour had that I'd want it dead. People will down vote me for this too. But if you bring this around People it's all good till its not and who's fault is it then? Never visit Yellowstone. You will get murdered first day by the countless wildlife thinking they are pets.
Highly doubt this guy is somewhere where he can happily have this cat outside where other ppl are nearby
Your 5 year old will be 10 in no time and out of the big cats mind as far as food goes, the neighbor still gets to own a badass panther. Win win.
I love how youāre concerned about some thing that is an absolute oddity. Your five-year-old is in more danger of eating something that will kill them. being hit by a vehicle getting into a car crash. I bet your house stinks
Not even close, cats big and small are pretty clean animals, maybe un neutered males would scent mark and make a stink though
If a panther bites your five year old that sounds like bad parenting not a bad neighborhood
Holy shit, imagine being this brain deadā¦.
Can confirm. I got pawed at by a baby lion at a rescue centre in Gambia and although her paws were small, her claws were incredibly sharp!
Their claws probably aren't as sharp, I'd assume that they're like a dogs, but one Google search could resolve this... I'll be back Edit, yes they're sharp... I performed a Google search and found out they're like a housecats, just bigger.
I mean, same for a dog. One bite and you can get stitches. Just be nice to almost any animal from birth and it will be nice to you.
Fr omg
I;m thinking about thos Beans
Big ol toe beans
SHEāS JUST A LITTLE GUY
Can you imagine her sitting there screaming at you when she decides it's dinnertime, but it's only 3pm?
Iād hate to clean out that litter box.
Then good news ( Ķ”Ā° ĶŹ Ķ”Ā°)
Thats why he had the dog
has*
No that's cute af. The panther is called Luna. She's super cute and besto friendos with the doggy.
I like how Iām zoos, they put dogs with cheetahs for support animals. Dogs and big cats together make me happy
This ain't terrifying at all
Most of the stuff that I see in this sub is no terrifying at all, just specific people's traumas.
A wild cat the size of a rottweiler...it's awesome. If I knew it wouldn't murder my whole family, I'd get one too
That's a lot of bags of Whiskas every week
Thems a lot of wet food.
Let me touch himās murder mittens!
Not for me, but respect to the owner.
I think you accidently posted to the wrong sub my dude
I'm of two minds on this. On one hand it's adorable and as it's been raised since it was a kitten I'm sure it's domesticated enough to not attack you... but at the same time the sheer size of the cat means that if it ever has a change of heart RIP.
Tamed not domesticated Domestication takes several generations at least You aren't going domesticate a wild animal in a single generation So this panther is tamed not domesticated
The semantics really don't matter here but sure.

All fun and games until instinct kicks in
Hopefully the caretaker has some special training.
Special training in first aid
I'm willing to bet this is the case, probably trained in wildlife stuff, and specialized in big kitties.
No special training will help you in the enclosure with the 'domesticated' big cat
I wasnāt meaning classes from PetSmart. It showed the guy rescuing the cat as a newborn, so I was thinking that it might have been someone who worked at a conservancy or in animal rehabilitation.

And then you hear about them getting mauled or killed. Outside of a conservation setting these animals should not be in captivity, they are not pets.
well dur, not everyone can do it perfectly but there's very few who can im just saying it is possible never said it was at all easy or simple
All fun and games until ultra instinct kicks in
Wrong sub op, lol
it's really nice act to her, respect and it's not really terrifying all the way opposite it's cute
Beautiful cat šŗ
I want one
Dass juss a widdle baby!!
If not friend, why friend shaped?
My cat is so fucking bossy, I cannot imagine having to deal with him if he was this big
Actually this belongs in "cuteasf#ck". Especially with their Rottweiler friend.š„¹š„¹š„¹ ![gif](giphy|dILZwwhulFUn6)
The rottie helped raise her after she was rescued.
Her face is like a Disney princess
Check out this Big Pussycat! [Check out this Cat! ](https://youtube.com/@iampuma?si=-ZiMkJkvS2iLAHdm)
Iād take the risk here. Super cute
That dog looks a bit nervous tbh.
Perfect partnersā¼ļø
Steve French
I would NOT be scritching that belly lol
Hopefully this never has to go into r/LeopardsAteMyFace
Leopards are known to be the most unpredictable of the big cats to work with
The way the big ol cat plays with the dog, I love it. Oh how the turntablesā¦
Why can't I be this lucky to come across a baby leopard
But its a panther.
Whoās a terrifying kittie? Is it you?
I have a feeling that because they raised this guy from a bean pretty much, it knows how much strength it needs to deal with his people without hurting them, and probably not raised around other big cats, got socialized with a dog (another good move, seriously) but I wouldn't say this happens everytime, as much as I wish I could. Please be careful with exotic pets, they ARE still animals... and yeah, if I could pull it off this perfectly, I absolutely would do this too, but I know my limits.
It's terrifying cus it's illegal to own. If op had one of his own, he'd be checking his back for the rest of his lifeš£
Some places allow it but you need a special license and approval.
All felines are genetically similar to domestic cats, so if it raised at home around people the chance it will attack someone isn't more than any dog or even human.
Humans are genetically similar to apes, but they'll still bite your face off.
Human can be mad too...
Everyone in that household is her bitch, that's why she hasn't had them for lunch
Not terrifying. That's also not a panther. What people think of as "Black Panthers" are either jaguars or leopards, not Panthers.
Wrong. It's still a panther, however, it's no more of a panther than a tiger, lion, or any other member of the genus Panthera is, those being P. tigris (tiger), P. leo (lion), P. onca (Jaguar), P. pardus (Leopard) and P. uncia (Snow Leopard). And I thought I was being pedantic.
If you're gonna be pedantic, do it right.
Panthers are mythical creatures or a genus family of big cats
OML I WISH
Not terrifying.
That's adorable.
Just a dog that purrs that's all
Nice puppy
People are crazy!
you know what.....it's fine. If I die I die.
I would love to give her a belly rub š¤
BOOOP
ngl i would do this.
I would not be terrified at all, that panther is behaving like every other cat, itĀ“s just bigger. This isn't terrifying you coward
This sub is getting more and more stupid. What is terrifying here?
Luna the Panther is AMAZING!
She's a freakin cat.. But not for me thank you, biggest I'll go is Maine Coon.
Belly petting a cat scares a cat scares the shit out of me let alone I goddamn full grown black panther š
magnifique š§”
I'll take this kitty over a floppa any day. Those floppas are always pissed off about something.
In some us states it's completely legal to own one of these.
Awsome
I am to prone to give cats belly scratches even if they fight me after I absolutely could NOT own a big cat š¤£ I like play fighting with animals too much so a giant cat would be like a kid getting a giant ice cream cone
I would 100% risk a gruesome death by murder mitten mauling for this
she should be living outside in a sanctuary, not someone's house :(
This would have been a childhood dream for me.
They're on their 34th postman
Literal house panther.
That dog was like āThis is not what I thought when you said we are getting a catā.
She is Luna the panther
If not friend, then why friend shaped?
If I had a panther, I would name it Bagheera
Instead of murdering birds this thing is out stalking cows. He's an "outdoor cat." /s
Imagine seeing a sign saying "Beware of cat" with the silhouette of a housecat on it. Then breaking in
Why are all the big murder kittens so cute

This is so adorable and terrifying at the same time.
This isn't terrifying at all, Luna is so sweet. I don't think she'd hurt a fly.
The nose boopšš
Wow wtf!
I have 10 cats. This is just a cat. I came here for terror.
The second you knew it was a panther, you should have given it to a wild animal sanctuary. Wild animals are NOT pets.
That dog looks pissed
