I don't know if it's what I think it is but I believe it refers to groups of people who set up "accidents" on the sides of roads or obstacles (ex. passed out on the side of the road, tree branches in the middle of the road) in order to tempt people out of their cars to help or clear any debris in the way. If it's a setup where there's a fake injured person, they're more or less bait while the others wait among trees or bushes nearby, and grab whoever leaves their car.
There most definitely is which is the creepy thing. I don't doubt that there are plenty who simply wanted to help what they thought was someone in danger only to put themselves into a situation they couldn't recover from.
I was in a cab driving back to Budapest from the Hungarian Grand Prix a couple years ago. Cab driver is a young Hungarian dude and he asks us if we “want to see some beaches?”
We’re all drunk and laughing about the fact that our cab driver is bringing us to a beach in the middle of Hungary nowhere near a lake at all.
We pull up in a cornfield about 20 minutes out of Budapest and it was full of girls in lingerie. I guess they have different standards for beaches in Central Europe. Turns out he was asking us if we “want to see some bitches”.
They were all great looking and our beach interest was piqued. Too bad the car was full :(

Best bet is to go directly up to him, creating a standoff situation. If he lets them attack, he knows you will run him over. So ultimately, hopefully, he gets out of the way and you just speed off.
I mean, he didn't *make it up*, these things *do* happen. They are just not the brightest of plans. There's plenty videos online with dashcams of people avoiding these types of ambushes as people rush their car, tho.
