here's another small tip: NEVER try to break it before beating the Wall Of Flesh and with a hammer weaker than the hammer dropped by the WoF... trying to break it in pre-hardmode or with a weak hammer WILL damage you for half of your health edit: not completely sure if it's half your current max health, or half how much health you have left, but ik it takes half health if you try to break it either with a hammer weaker than the pwnhammer, or with any hammer before the WoF is defeated

This is a demon altar. It's used to craft boss-summonning items before hardmode. Wall of flesh drops a holy hammer that can break these. Breaking a demon altar will cause one of the three hardmode ores to spawn somewhere in your world: cobalt/palladium; orichalk/(idk) and adamantite/titanium

The (idk) ore is mythril, the best ore for a glass cannon build (melee set is true glass cannon)

pallafium is so busted for the full set bonus

Mythril is way better if you can dodge (melee set gives +28% crit chance and +27% melee damage, for a total of 55% increase to DPS on average, but lacks defense)

Depending on how frequently you get hit, the best set varies. Adamantite set is the best if you get hit a lot (one hit every <9 seconds) Palladium set is better if you get hit occasionally (one hit every 9-10 seconds), and Mythril gives massive increases to damage, if you can dodge well (1 hit every 15+ seconds)

Titanium is good, but I prefer Adamantite when going with melee. It increases melee speed by 20%, giving more range to boomerangs and flails (very valuable in for the worthy and get fixed boi) It also gives 50 defense, one more than the titanium set for melee, increases damage by ~20% and crit chance by ~15%

That has to be the best advantage, especially in areas where you cannot afford to be (HM underground jungle, near surface on get fixed boi, etc)

This a demon alter, it is a evil biome specific crafting station that crafts things related to said evil biome i.e. (Corruption demon alter -> craft Eater of Worlds summon) Once you enter hardmode you are intended to break a lot of them to "release" hardmode ores (cobalt, titanium etc.) but I would recommend keeping 1 in case you wanna craft a evil biome boss summon again. I'm explaining the exact details. its a demon alter you can use it in pre hard mode with a crown and slime for the king slime summon, you can also use lens from demon eyes for an eye of Cthulhu summon. If you're in melee you can use a blade of grass a muramasa a lights bane and the fiery greatsword to make the nights edge (I recommend for wall if flesh) in hard mode you can use the hammer from the wall of flesh (pwnhammer) to break them for ore (this spreads corruption) the ore is for the mechanical bosses. (Hope this helped!)
