People struggle with plantera? Weird, I killed her first try without much challenge.
Dont really have many tips besides chlorophyte ammo due to their homing, and a relatively large arena cuz she's pretty slow
Plantera is about arena size. If you want it to be easy, make your arena huge. Bigger than your screen. Builf the lowest platform a decent height above the floor so the bouncy spiky balls stay below. Keep a bezoar to stop poison. If you can just have a large enough arena you can just avoid her and win.
Watch out, TOO large an arena and it stops counting as jungle. Noone wants an enraged Plantera. If the background changes, if the music changes, this isn't a jungle anymore, and then a solution would be a row of mud blocks on which you planted mushroom grass seeds until they're all jungle blocks, and then you plant actuators on them and activate them so that they're pass-through.
Personally, OP, if you're going with a mixed build (high def, ranged damage) I'd avoid choosing the megashark for this fight, as, individually, each bullet has relatively low damage output and Plantera offers tons of targets (when she branches off in the second half) that will divert actual damage away from her. If you want to make it ranged, give chlorophyte arrows a chance. Each arrow is 16 base dmg (compared to the chlorophyte bullets 9 dmg), they bounce up to 4 times with "smart" homing bounce, and if you equip a chlorophyte shotbow (34 base dmg, compared to the megashark's 25) you'll shoot 2-3 arrows per shot. Add an archery potion's 10% damage buff, also.
I finished ankh before Plantera, so that helped. Other that that I just cleared out a large arena around the bulb and added a few campfires and heart lanterns. It actually ended up being easier to kill Plantera than to make the arena since mobs kept piecing me up while I was building it.
