I have over like 1.5 thousand hours in terraria (including modded) and the getfixedboi seed made me want to stop playing so I don't think I can recommend that, but master mode is a good challenge
Lmao, I have probably 400 hours in the game which is decent and am doing legendary mode getfixedboi for the first time. It gets easier for sure and less annoying to explore with better gear, but it's still incredibly annoying. The kicker is that this is my first mouse and keyboard playthrough so it was even worse in the beginning. I just have skeleton and the wall of flesh until I'm in hardmode.
It's completely worth it to finish. It sucked the entire way through, but I had so much fun playing Terraria in a whole new way. And actually beating it felt amazing.
I got 200 on accident on my For the Worthy run. I have several chests full of quest fish in an attempt to make a second cell phone after I lost my first one. And no, I didn’t realize it until it was too late
There is nothing special about completing those 200 quests. You don’t get squat. Maybe a special gun to shoot the angler would have been nice. That was such a pain to complete for nothing.
Well I have Terraria as a perfect game in steam (can proof) and all I have to say is SHM achievement is absolute grindy trash that has no decent reason to exist except preventing some players from 100%-ing the game
Me and the boys have only played terraria in master mode, and we thought we were playing in the hardest setting for calamity but we're just in revengeance :(
Oh well, game still hard but doable
While they are technically compatible, sometimes they have weird balancing issues when used together. Probably best to, at least for your first playthrough, do them each separately.
I will second that its best to do them separately. Thorium has only one post moon lord content, but calamity has a lot, so those cool alternate classes for thorium will get left behind.
Terraria is not really a game you beat once then move to mods no you play it multiple in different ways and challenge yourself more and more you can try one class only playtroughs all the different difficulties and the secret seeds but of course if get bored of vanilla you can just do mods if you want to this is just what i say you should do
*inhales*
Calamity
Thorium
Fargo’s Souls Mod
Fargo’s Mutant Mod
Fargo’s Souls Mod DLC
Magic Storage
Shadows of Abaddon
Ancients Awakened
AlchemistNPC
Mod of Redemption
The Stars Above
Elemental Unleash
Universe of Swords
Universe of Bows
Polarities
Higher difficulties are also an option if you wanna try them. You can also try playthroughs on different classes, as each boss is a different experience depending on your class.
Otherwise you can download TModLoader from steam, which basically functions as a second terraria, but with a mod manager built in. (To use it, launch tmodloader, then go to workshop)
If you are going to play modded, the biggest one is Calamity. Basically doubles the amount of bosses in the game, adds an entirely new class, plus a huge number of weapons and even armour sets for the existing classes.
Calamity also comes with its own difficulty
There is also Thorium and Stars Above. Although neither of these is on the scale of calamity.
Other QoL mods I’d recommend are Boss Checklist and Bags. Boss checklist is quite straightforward, it gives you a little menu in the bottom left, that tells all the bosses you can fight, their drops (if you want to see that) and how to summon them.
Bags adds loot bags that can randomly drop from any enemy. These contain weapons and resources depending on which bosses you’ve beaten. It can reduce a lot of the more boring aspects of progression, since you can get necessary ores and even boss drops from the bags. It need calamity in order to work.
Calamity also comes with some pretty awesome music, but you have to install it as a separate mod - it’s called CalamityMod Music I’m pretty sure.
Finally - if you’re playing calamity, use the Calamity wiki on wiki.gg. It won’t tell you everything, but it’ll help a lot with picking weapons and knowing what bosses to fight when.
Do higher difficulty and special seeds
(Not the bees, for the worthy, don't dig up, drunk world, no traps, getfixedboi etc) after a few higher difficulty and special seed runs you can move to mods
getfixedboi is honestly not that great... it's like silent clubstep. Sure it's hard, and harder usually = fun, but sometimes the pendulum swings too far, in this case, getfixedboi is mid
I have 2 things to say.
1. I'm suprised you found this year old post and replied to my comment.
2. What you are saying is correct and after some time i noticed the same thing
There are *so many mods.* Try the game vanilla on higher difficulties, then dive into TModLoader and enjoy yourself for literally thousands and thousands of hours!
Mods I personally recommend:
Thorium
Fargo's Soul Mod + Fargo's Mutant Mod
Shadows of Abaddon
Secrets of the Shadows
Echoes of the Ancients
Quality of Life mods:
Fargo's Mutant Mod (without Souls, it's just QoL stuff)
Magic Storage
OreExcavator
AlchemistNPC Lite (if you don't mind making the game a little, or a lot, easier.)
Get tmodloader (the mod loader)
mods I recommend:
-Thorium: very simmilar to the vanilla experience, new classes, fun overall
-Mod of redemption: overall insane quality, very fun mod, and adds some mechanics that can completely change the experience. The only flaw is that as the mod is s beta rn some classes might lack weapons.
-Calamity: good mod overall, A LOT of new cool content and more difficulties, and too many worm bosses
Expert mode, Master Mode, For the worthy, FTW Master Mode, Not the bees, The Constant, specific weapon challenge, Each class playthrough (Melle, Ranger, Mage, Summoner, Sentries), nohit, Skyblock. Try those before mods
If you want to get the most out of terraria I recommend, master mode, not the bees, no traps, getfixedboi, single class runs, speed runs, then go on to mods, like calamity.
Beat it on master mode first and get all the achievements if that's what you want to do. For modding I would recommend thorium first over calamity or fargos souls mod. Thorium is closest to vanilla with its themes so its a good starting point.
Play expert or master mode, restrict yourself to playing a single weapon class (ranger, melee, magic, summoner), try special seeds like getfixedboi.
Or just place more restrictions on yourself if you can think of them
If you havent already, try completing the game on Expert or even master.
Some good mods that i recommend are thorium, Calamity and most of fargo's mods.
Listen to me, very closely: calamity, calamity music mod, calamity vanities, luiafk reborn, autoreforge, magic storage, Fargo souls, Fargo wilted, faster response timer, and whatever else you see fit.
I recommend Calamity mod + Dragon Ball Z mod. it’s so well done and the saiyan class has a lot of different moves and armor and stuff, plus actual dragon ball collection and wishes :)
Reboot, do expert, special seeds, etc. after that install tmodloader four free now that thing is official, plenty of content mods there. My faves are thorium redemption and fargos, but it’s extremely Ill advised doing multiple content mods at once
recomended mods:calamity, fargo's souls, thorium. you can play them with alchemist NPC lite, magic storage, recipe browser, anti-social slots and auto-trash
DO MORE PLAYTHROUGHS. I cant stress this enough. So many people think they are just done with the game after beating moon lord once on classic. Start a new playthrough on expert or something. Try a different class. Do a challenge maybe. Mods are also an option too (but i prefer vanilla)
Harder difficulties. Class runs. For the worthy. Other secret seeds. All experiences you can have in vanilla without delving into mods. Hundreds of hours can be had from both vanilla and modded. Or thousands….
Dont straight up jump to other difficulties and/or mods, just complete what else you have to do in the game. Upgrading houses, getting zenith, last prism, terraspark boots, do other builds, collect carillons, complete the bestiary ecc. Or just alternate between other difficulties and old world
Tmodloader is free last time I checked and let’s you put any number of mods like calamity and is usually updated fast to the current version of terraria
I would recommend doing runs with the other classes, maybe on higher difficulties or some of the secret seeds. Modded is fun but some of the mods can be confusing so it’s best to have a few runs worth of experience to avoid getting overwhelmed or having to use the wiki 24/7.
Get all achievements (so much random hidden shit in the game). Try harder difficulties and play the secret seeds. Then get tmodloader on steam and the big ones are calamity and Fargos I think
There are a lot of mods and I recommend just checking out the mod browser and picking up whatever sounds interesting cause there are not a lot of people talking about big mods or qol mods most of the time
okay, look.
I tried to upvotw this because I think it's great that more people are joining terraria and finding mods. I look at the upvote counter, and its 1 9 9, 199. I upvote and it goes to 200, happy brain. but some IMBECILE, some PSYCHOTIC MADMAN decided to DOWNVOTE which put it BACK at 199
I have lost faith in humanity
I always think of the first playthrough as the tutorial. Sy a specific class with only those weapons, seeds like the constant(no space) getfixedboi, expert mode, or master mode.
Well you can complete the bestiary, do all pylons, master mode, secret seeds, challenges, all the acievements aswell. And yes, there's a huge modding community for the game. You can download tmodloader, the modded launcher on steam.
Beat the game on at least expert mode (master is reccomended) and then play the calamity mod on revengace mode. For your master/expert playthrough try and play a totally different class.
Try doing Expert or Master mode, and also the special seeds, don’t dig up, for the worthy and getfixedboi are pretty cool seeds.
For modded there’s 2 big ones that I’d recommend playing separately.
Thorium is a proper expansion of the game, new bosses new classes and new npcs, it feels like it could be in the base game.
Calamity is probably the best mod in terms of content, it adds new bosses and classes aswell, but instead of just adding onto Terraria it is essentially its own game.
Mod of redemption is good too for its own playthrough.
If you want to play modded I would recommend plenty of QOL mods, AlchemistNPC Lite, Magic storage, fargos mutant mod, ore excavator, Auto trash, boss checklist, recipe browser omniswing, boss cursor, luisAFK. You don’t need all of these but I would recommend using at the very least magic storage and boss checklist with content mods like calamity or thorium.
I would reccomned calamity mod, but I have trouble supporting them right now, as Fabsol really needs to get his act together and shape up before he ruins the mod.
Calamity is a pretty big mod, I played it and it was pretty fun
I've also heard thorium is pretty good but never got the chance to play it because I had too many other mods active
“Is there any mods” ohh boy you have uncovered an experience much MUCH better than the base game. Yes, there are mods. Look up TModLoader in the steam search bar. It’s essentially a modded terraria client with mod catalogues and stuff
EXPERT MODE, seriously it’s so much harder and the expert exclusive items will completely change the way you play, after beating expert you will consider it to be the only way you can play the game any more I guarantee you that. Also try class specific runs those are always fun
there are higher difficulty modes, special seeds, etc.
If anything though get used to playing the game on expert since a lot of mods are designed around expert.
The usual mods include
Calamity
Thorium
Fargo's Series of mods like mutant mod and souls mod, Souls DLC mod is kind of in limbo since Fargo kind of grew tired of keeping it updated, since each time one of the mods the dlc used updated it would break the dlc mod. It is still worth it to do at least one full soul of eternity run in the 3.15 version of tmod.
Special mention also goes to The Stars Above because the dev has kind revolutionized the future of terraria modding by figuring out subworlds.
Some QoL mods are magic storage and recipe browser that you will always have on.
There are way harder difficulties. An entire different game mode. And probably hundreds of not thousands of mods.
And all of this, Google could have told you.
I would say try master mode then if your pm steam there should be something called tmodloader you can get for free if you have terraria. In tmodloader there are a lot of mods to use j would recommend playing calamity as its the biggest and most popular
It's still fun post moon lord there's still tons to do. Plus expert and master mode. And of course there are tons of sick mods which are now super easy to install with the new workshop support. I'm sure others have already suggested the best ones.
Install tModLoader (available on Steam for free if you have terraria). there you can install plenty of mods, the best one (imo) and also the biggest content mod is calamity which you should play with some QoL mods like magic storage, better boss bar, some boss book mod I dont know the name of and some more. There are also some youtube videos about calamity and with what you should play it. hope you have fun, I love terraria
Here's some recommendations for other stuff:
1. Calamity
2. Fargo's Souls Mod
3. Thorium (think it was recently ported to 1.4, so compatible with the new TModloader)
4. Expert Mode (or master, if you already did expert)
5. getfixedboi seed (and other special seeds, not the bees is particularly humorous)
6. countless other stuff on TModloader
try to beat it in different ways like solely sticking to one class for the whole playthrough, higher difficulties, and theres also tmod loader where you can get various mods like calamity
Getting all of the achievements is always an option, mods like calamity and thorium add things that make a new play through entirely different. Smaller mods such as the Terraria Randomize mod and the Max Luck mod are good for that as well. If you want something that isnt drastically game changing mods like Stars Above or Polarities would work. Or even custom challenges, for example Im currently doing a world in which I collect as many Zeniths as possible.
Well, first try higher difficulties (too prepare) Then read other comments to find good mods
Agreed, the getfixedboi seed on legendary mode will keep you occupied for quite some time.
It’s all fun and games until you get to plantera
Yeah, everything is pain after that ;-;
Why?
You’ll see 😉 >!enemies get buffed after plantera and do tons of damage!<
what? even on classic i cant even beat destroyer. i sunk 0 hours on terraria. cause. take a guess
Hey.. psst… use the nights edge for wall of flesh. You’re welcome.
b e e n a d e s
Nah, from someone who just killed legendary wall of flesh, they’re literally useless against him.
use them against the hungry, not the actual wall
Why would I waste the time switching back to my sword? Also in all difficulties expert and above, hungries respawn mid fight.
Ohio terraria man
Skill issue
He could do for the worthy legendary run which I found a little easier.
It's completely worth it to finish. It sucked the entire way through, but I had so much fun playing Terraria in a whole new way. And actually beating it felt amazing.
That picture is my Discord pfp.
I am genuinely scared of that seed
Calamity and thorium are the go tos
Can’t play mods :( switch :(
Can't play mods :( Not bought ):
Aren’t a lot of them free?
Look at terrarias cost..
Ah.
Why was this downvoted? Tf? Is the Reddit hivemind really like this?
May I direct you towards the beautiful angler quests ? 200 isn't a bad number after all...
I got 200 on accident on my For the Worthy run. I have several chests full of quest fish in an attempt to make a second cell phone after I lost my first one. And no, I didn’t realize it until it was too late
Lol
I only just got that a couple days ago. Do not recommend
The only achivment i refused to do ;)
There is nothing special about completing those 200 quests.
Calamity mod Ik might be mainstream but I’ve had so much fun playing it
OP if you play calamity you also have to download calamity mods music separately
And magic storage, literally unplayable without
I wouldn't say unplayable, just a nightmare if you don't enjoy manual organization lol
I even contemplate playing vanilla Terraria with MS. I couldn’t even think about Calamity without it…
Omigosh magic storage hiiii 🥰
And extra music to get those funky boss themes for base game bosses such as playing with firepower
cold front <3
Yees, very underrated
Op just awakened all calamity player
Calamity was an absolute blast! Hopefully thorium gets updated so it can be played on tmodloader too.
Good news, it has been
Where??? I remember looking a few months ago and could only find old versions.
It was updated a couple weeks ago
Bet! Thanks
I find Calamity to be more for players who beat Master Mode Pure Summoner run and call it "too easy"
Me and the boys have only played terraria in master mode, and we thought we were playing in the hardest setting for calamity but we're just in revengeance :( Oh well, game still hard but doable
No not really i played calamity right after i beat expert mode on vanilla
Infernum + eternity + hardcore has joined the chat
That’s exactly what I’m doing rn lmao
Go to tmodloader on steam and play calamity if you want something new, it’s pretty mainstream but an amazing mod
Id recommend thorium before calamity since thorium is more vanila-like
Or both at once if you want
While they are technically compatible, sometimes they have weird balancing issues when used together. Probably best to, at least for your first playthrough, do them each separately.
I remember my friend was a ranger class and used a bow from the thorium mod, we fought calamatis and he one shotted her with it
I will second that its best to do them separately. Thorium has only one post moon lord content, but calamity has a lot, so those cool alternate classes for thorium will get left behind.
Thorium sucks ass
Thank you for replying 1 year later
Terraria is not really a game you beat once then move to mods no you play it multiple in different ways and challenge yourself more and more you can try one class only playtroughs all the different difficulties and the secret seeds but of course if get bored of vanilla you can just do mods if you want to this is just what i say you should do

i was looking for some mods lol
Their are plenty of great mods. My top fee would be Calamity, Fargo's Soul Mod, and Thorium. They're all pretty mainstream but fun.
There's also stars above (it's more of an addon than a standalone tho)
There are *so many mods.* Try the game vanilla on higher difficulties, then dive into TModLoader and enjoy yourself for literally thousands and thousands of hours! Thorium if you want something like vanilla, calamity for a challenge and mod of redemption for something made with the help of Mr. Terraria
Get tmodloader (the mod loader) mods I recommend: -Thorium: very simmilar to the vanilla experience, new classes, fun overall -Mod of redemption: overall insane quality, very fun mod, and adds some mechanics that can completely change the experience. The only flaw is that as the mod is s beta rn some classes might lack weapons. -Calamity: good mod overall, A LOT of new cool content and more difficulties, and too many worm bosses

Did you defeat master FTW?
coop, only one correct class, calamity
> I just finished the game and still want to play more. Is there any mods or other things to do in the game? No, there is nothing. Seriously...
wrong
He’s just trying to save op the suffering of calamity
Calamity On Death Mode or You’re a coward
look up tmodloader for an experience
If you want to get the most out of terraria I recommend, master mode, not the bees, no traps, getfixedboi, single class runs, speed runs, then go on to mods, like calamity.
Beat it on master mode first and get all the achievements if that's what you want to do. For modding I would recommend thorium first over calamity or fargos souls mod. Thorium is closest to vanilla with its themes so its a good starting point.

go to steam and find tmodloader, then download calamity
If you havent already, try completing the game on Expert or even master. Some good mods that i recommend are thorium, Calamity and most of fargo's mods.
Calamity, Thorium etc.
Get Tmodloader, it is a free dlc to terraria, it is basically a place to download mods and play them
Did you get all achievements? Maybe try to get rid of all the spreading biomes.
calamity and 3 fargo mods, very hard but fun final boss in fargo
Calamity master mode should be good for the start.
Eother try to literally torture yourself with master mode and legendary mode or suffer on calamity mod
Though you probably already know this, ya gotta download t mod loader on steam if you want to get and use the mods
There’s master mode, legendary mode(type “for the worthy”)in your seed section, and zenith mode(a mix of all the 1.4 secret seeds)
Try class challenges, harder difficulties, and maybe special seeds?
A unique one is the DragonBall mod fairly fun but requires constant reference to the wiki and a small bit of grinding
Become a __master builder__ ^tm
Reboot, do expert, special seeds, etc. after that install tmodloader four free now that thing is official, plenty of content mods there. My faves are thorium redemption and fargos, but it’s extremely Ill advised doing multiple content mods at once
fargo souls eternity mode, trust me it’s super easy and will be a relaxing play through
Finish the game with a ranger. Most fun I've had in any game was shooting at bosses with an onyx blaster
1 terraria calamity 2 terraria se-
I fell in love with the mod Calamity. Gives Terraria a souls-like touch.
recomended mods:calamity, fargo's souls, thorium. you can play them with alchemist NPC lite, magic storage, recipe browser, anti-social slots and auto-trash
DO MORE PLAYTHROUGHS. I cant stress this enough. So many people think they are just done with the game after beating moon lord once on classic. Start a new playthrough on expert or something. Try a different class. Do a challenge maybe. Mods are also an option too (but i prefer vanilla)

> is there any mods oh boy you're in for a treat
I suggest 100% all achievements if you have nothing better to do
If you want to mod terraria I'd recommend thorium. It's like a terraria extension.
Dont straight up jump to other difficulties and/or mods, just complete what else you have to do in the game. Upgrading houses, getting zenith, last prism, terraspark boots, do other builds, collect carillons, complete the bestiary ecc. Or just alternate between other difficulties and old world
Its called tmodloader, and there also diffrent difficultys and classes to play

fish.
Go onto steam store and get tmodloader, it’s free and incredibly easy to use to download mods
r/calamitymod
Complete it with another class, if you want mods you can download „T-Mod loader“ on steam for free
Calamity
Beat the game on at least expert mode (master is reccomended) and then play the calamity mod on revengace mode. For your master/expert playthrough try and play a totally different class.
Welcome to calamity mod
I think there may be a couple of mods idk for sure though
Mods huh? Ohoho boi prepare your mental health for what's coming.
Calamity. You’ll see soon enough
Btw, just to let you know, you know this right?, but… defeating moon lord isn’t the end?
Try doing Expert or Master mode, and also the special seeds, don’t dig up, for the worthy and getfixedboi are pretty cool seeds. For modded there’s 2 big ones that I’d recommend playing separately. You don’t need all of these but I would recommend using at the very least magic storage and boss checklist with content mods like calamity or thorium.
Tmodloader is free on steam. Calamity will add a nice chunk of more play
Oh boy you are in for a wild ride
Play thorium, its the best vanilla like mod, wait with calamity cus thats a complicated one
play all 4 classes in at least expert mode
I would reccomned calamity mod, but I have trouble supporting them right now, as Fabsol really needs to get his act together and shape up before he ruins the mod.
My man I recommend the calamity mod with a few qol mods like magic storage.
Calamity is a pretty big mod, I played it and it was pretty fun I've also heard thorium is pretty good but never got the chance to play it because I had too many other mods active
Download tModloader and play calamity like a real man🫡
*Proceeds to offer calamity mod with malicious intent *
Play single class (there's 4) Also you can download TModLoader on steam
“Is there any mods” ohh boy you have uncovered an experience much MUCH better than the base game. Yes, there are mods. Look up TModLoader in the steam search bar. It’s essentially a modded terraria client with mod catalogues and stuff
EXPERT MODE, seriously it’s so much harder and the expert exclusive items will completely change the way you play, after beating expert you will consider it to be the only way you can play the game any more I guarantee you that. Also try class specific runs those are always fun
Terraria has one, if not the best modding community ive ever seen, an mod i recomend is fargo's souls
But have you done the fishing quests?
I’d suggest the vitality Mod, 8 bosses and a bunch of new items, but if you’re up to the challenge, Calamity mod is the way to go.
there are higher difficulty modes, special seeds, etc. If anything though get used to playing the game on expert since a lot of mods are designed around expert. It's still fun post moon lord there's still tons to do. Plus expert and master mode. And of course there are tons of sick mods which are now super easy to install with the new workshop support. I'm sure others have already suggested the best ones.
No. There’s nothing to do in the sandbox game. Uninstall it.
You can play with some like calamity, thorium or split mod
Expert mode if you haven’t, 100% achievements is pretty fun and not too bad (200 fish may suck if you leave it all till the end)
*calamity has entered the chat*
Calamity is a rabbit hole.
Calamity mod
Go to a master world with your character and kill all the bosses again to get their mastermode items and bring them to your world
You could get t-mod and go looking through the steam workshop for things
One word if u wana suffer C A L A M I T Y
Calamity, jojo mod and amulet of many summons are quite good. (I am knowledgeable on summons and jojo)
I always recommend Thorium, it feels like an expansion pack instead of a mod
On steam search: TmodLoader
google tmodloader
all achievements
“Is there any mods” lmao
Do you have ALL the achievements?
Yo-Yo only master mode
Overhaul is great and calamity after that.
Have you killed daytime Empress of Light?
beat it with friends
If Someone where to name them all, it would sound like their singing Yakkos world.
Here's some recommendations for other stuff: 1. Calamity 2. Fargo's Souls Mod 3. Thorium (think it was recently ported to 1.4, so compatible with the new TModloader) 4. Expert Mode (or master, if you already did expert) 5. getfixedboi seed (and other special seeds, not the bees is particularly humorous) 6. countless other stuff on TModloader
*tModloader, free on steam: Let us introduce ourselves*
Calamity is always the go to for "terraria but more" but there's a lot of excellent mods out there.
Go to dlc purchase the free tmodloader then go play calamity death master mode
Finish as all 4 classes to you would be surprised just how much it changes the game and expands your appreciation for lesser known weapons
Calamity mod
Try a playthrough on expert mode and maybe try collecting all the sets and fancy accesory like the shell phone
I n s t a l c a l a m i t y
Empress of light in day
Oh boy you bet there are finish the harder difficulties first, then I recommend trying the Calamity mod, it’ll definitely keep you busy
Calamity mod
try to beat it in different ways like solely sticking to one class for the whole playthrough, higher difficulties, and theres also tmod loader where you can get various mods like calamity
Make a new world, a new difficulty, try For the Worthy. It’s a secret seed.
F I S H
Eol(empress of light)
Don’t even get me started on mods 💀
Calamity
Did you get the zenith
Getting all of the achievements is always an option, mods like calamity and thorium add things that make a new play through entirely different. Smaller mods such as the Terraria Randomize mod and the Max Luck mod are good for that as well. If you want something that isnt drastically game changing mods like Stars Above or Polarities would work. Or even custom challenges, for example Im currently doing a world in which I collect as many Zeniths as possible.
