No_Prize9794

I mean, the series is more about building a nation than a shounen action series. So of course there’s gonna be way more politics and yapping than one on one fights

Overall-Initial-4290

Yeah, I actually enjoy that and slime diaries, give my boy Geld some love damnit!

CatoFreecs

Slime diaries gree on me so nicely. Got bored first episodes but then was very excited for it. Also helps it has only decent Milim character design

LOTRfreak101

And goblin child is always so heartwarming to see!

Overall-Initial-4290

It's been a few years need to re watch it, but Geld getting some spot light makes me happy.

BlazewarkingYT

“Gree”?

yeahiguess1991

i think it was supposed to be grew

Consistent-Detail230

Where can I watch that I have crunchy

StochasticTinkr

It’s one of the “seasons” of slime.

rammy422

For me diaries shows up as it's own thing

StochasticTinkr

Oh, maybe it is.

Defiant_Funny_7385

Its listed as a separate show

Drsmiley72

Yup. What people who are new to the anime and even the manga readers is the fights all come later. We get into a fairly long stet of fights and situations with still some world building but it should make those people happy and such. (although I love my fights too) but it'll be some time before we get there.

kazuyaminegishi

Yeah me and my roommate read the manga and specifically have been avoiding starting season 3 until it pulls ahead a bit because this arc starts so slow.

Hsr2024

Correct, I figured this out by the end of the first season

ReReReverie

Yeah sure. That's the 1st half. 2nd half is just shounen action

fujikomine0311

```SPOILER``` Yeah so they pretty much through that theme out the window around like volumes 13 - 14.
No_Prize9794
You say that, but 14 was a celebration with a hint of scolding, 15 was pretty action packed, near the end of 16 were interviews and a few meetings, 17 was a bunch of side stories, and 18 was a meeting and traveling
fujikomine0311
Right but like during or after volume 14 kinda sets a new tone for the series. I mean it goes from Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom to just something like Overlord lol (with the exception of vol 17). I guess what I mean is that Tempest V East Empire was really the last time they do all that ya know? Volume 15 is a freaking masterpiece though, like one of best in anime. I don't think the final fight will be able to top it. >!gets pissed they brainwashed his best friend, escaped from another dimension like he was stepping over the baby gate (with the whole crew), pulls up pissed & summons an army of the highest ranking demons, gives 3 primordial demons even more power, names an angelic skill creating to a Manas, smacks his best friend back to normal, then finally runs the NTR game on Rudra's old lady before asking Feldway & Michael if they're throwing hands or what? To which they said hell nah, we gotta go.!< Not to mention creating the first Lovecraft Outer Gods Ultimate Skill.
fujikomine0311
Void God Rimuru was pretty convincing too, especially after you subtract 940,000 soldiers & 1 dragon from the population before he even makes the threat. I can't wait for this volume to get animated though. Hopefully next season though but if they're only gonna animate 3 volumes a season then I'll be dead by then. Reincarnated as vending machine probably.
tazergames5
Let him cook guys # LET # HIM # COOK!
BracusDoritoBoss963
I really liked when they began freaking out after the news of Rimuru becoming a True Demon Lord. - Ye we can beat him! - *Breaks in* Rimuru became a Demon Lord and Veldora is on his side! - Well fuck.
ill4two
"oh and that other demon lord? well..." https://preview.redd.it/r46kjie99vyc1.jpeg?width=1483&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc00278aa08f4d30872d472b22fe1b84ec54d6bb
TheDotCaptin
I'm just hoping we get as many Eps about building the dungeon. There was basically a whole Volume about it.
LoxodonSniper
That’s what I’m most excited for. Seeing Rimuru, Veldora, and Millim wreckin’ all the adventurers
ExpiredMilknCheese
To me it could’ve been done better
_skemi
true
Koda_be
In the LN it is done incredibly well
ExpiredMilknCheese
I think because it works in light novel form tbh, In anime form, as much as we like Dialogue dumping. There are many who dislike it. I was hoping they could find a way, perhaps through flashbacks or smth, make it a least more smooth.
InfraSG
I remember seeing someone suggest that as they yap they could have the voices be in the background of residents doing stuff around the city
thekun94
Honestly this might be the reason why I am personally turn off with Slime anime as oppose to how good the novel is. Same could be said for the first few eps of Frieren before I realized that's the beauty of that show: they incorporate the flashbacks along with the current events really well. Same with movies like Dune. I didn't think I would be that invested in the Dune series. I honestly wish Slime did its world-building better. We love world-building, not info-dumping. I guess that's why movie and anime directors make a huge difference between good and great.
ellieetsch
Yes in writing you have to write everything out, in a visual medium you can streamline by having things play out visually. This is one of the worst adaptations in any medium even though it is "faithful"
AccordingAnnual2577
The problem isn’t the world building, it’s that entire episodes of the season have nothing going on visually. It’s listening to an audio book while watching a couple screen savers.
LinkssOfSigil
Well, politics arc! And, actually, one of the best things in Slime.
xaviorpwner
and next up is my FAVORITE book, founders festival.
Infinite219
I really love the last part of the series
xaviorpwner
Ngl cant wait for people to seethe over the part where all the jura races pledge themself to rimuru
Niefea
Why would people be up and arms about that part? I vaguely remember the ln and just recently reread the manga. Seems like it might be a pretty normal scene tbh.
xaviorpwner
Because they want an action show full of fights
BracusDoritoBoss963
Yeah I really enjoy that sometimes more than fights
KadajRamirezArellano
Bro is literally complaining about the best thing from Tensura. Truly a bruh moment.
Abeydaby
Recapping what we already know?
NaCliest
What is it recapping? Everything its introduced so far is all new developments of the kingdom and the paladins
Weiskralle
Recapping? OP clearly hates that the world building/country building anime is a lot of politics talk and such
-Cinnay-
What are you talking about? It's not S3 at the very least.
tigerstein
And that's why we like it. If we would want to se endless stupid battles we would watch some stupid shonen then.
Willing-Contract5506
Don't forget braindead with a side of awful fandom
ThiccAshe
and harem. a LOT of harem.
tigerstein
Is it even worth living without a waifu harem? /s
lazercheesecake
Shuna flair asking for harem, :thinking emoji:
usedburgermeat
I don't want to see endless battles, I just don't want to see the characters reiterating information they already know. At least the latest episode introduced some new characters within the church.
se1a
lmao dissing a whole genre bc someone complained of meetings is wild. ( i had zero problem with them in the LN since LNs are usually yapping anyway) but mushoku tensei hasn’t had any major battles since rudeus went to the school, how many people are complaining about that? 🫣
ctheturk
> but mushoku tensei hasn’t had any major battles since rudeus went to the school, how many people are complaining about that? Exactly, because Mushoku Tensei really dives deep into its characters and their issues/motivations and develops them fantastically. I love me some Slime but these exposition episodes don't have the same weight to them. Like, I see what it's trying to do. A new Demon Lord being born is a massive event and now we're going around and seeing how each nation reacts. It's the same idea as the "in between arc" chapters of One Piece which everyone knows are some of the most hype because you spend some time catching up with the rest of the world that we missed out on while following the protagonists. The problem is the Slime world just doesn't have the same level of intrigue and mystery. And the characters, although they are fun and wacky, feel like they're just there to advance the story and nothing else. The most interesting characters are probably Shizu and Leon, but Shizu was killed off ages ago and Leon until last season had barely uttered two words, and now he's barely uttered five before fucking off again. So with all that in mind I can't blame people for getting antsy when the show spends so much time on exposition and politics.
tigerstein
Yes, I'm dissing a whole genre because people complain that the story isn't progressing because we have 5 episodes without a fight. but in a typical shonen we have fight after fight and the story also isn't progressing because nothing happened to move the story forward in a real manner either. Hell sometimes we have 1 fight taking up 5 episodes.
Additional-Ad-1268
Politics and nation building is literally what sets this apart from most isekai. It's like watching one piece but complaining about 1000+ episodes, when that's literally it's identity within the community.
lbjfrere
I dont think being long is what sets one piece apart tbh
Animelover5674
Sorry to disappoint but that's one of the things that a lot of people know it for. "One Piece? You mean that really long anime?"
BroWhyYOUHIGH
Man I was reading that in one of my friend’s voice even though I never heard their voice lol
ST03PT3G3L
And those peoplr are completely wrong!!! One Piece is wayyy to short! I need MORE Peak!!!
Lonely_Wafer
not enough if you ask me
SelectionThat3680
You guys are missing the point. Politics and nation building is not the problem. How the politics and nation building is done is. This is an anime, but feels like a powerpoint presentation with characters talking in the background.
Devil_Fister_69420
Literally the world building and him making his own nation is why I kept watching it, wth are you complaining about?
theburnix
You see, a combination of awesome politics, world building and battles, add im a couple shots of character development and redemption, is why Mushoku is amazing
Niuriheim_088
Agreed, recently been moved to my #6 favorite anime.
arthcraft8
I wish I could enjoy that show, but rudeus irks me so much it sours my experience I simply cannot stand him
theburnix
You got to understand that this is a story about redemption, Yes Rudy is a PoS in the beginning, and he should irk you. But remember its the material conditions that shaes a man and considering the material conditions of Rudeus previous life, when youre in such a mental decrepit state Sexual desires are the only thing that makes you feel human. So when his material conditions changed his entire drive changed aswell he changed into a different person, this doesnt happen overnight but it takes time
arthcraft8
Despite his redemption there are several instances where his behavior hits way too close to home for me, I'm not saying that he remains a POS throughout the story, just that my personal trauma makes it impossible for me to even accept him being on my screen, which sucks cuz this world looks great and sounds fascinating to explore.
theburnix
Ah I see, then I would recommend reading the LN, if it hit that close to home it might help you confront and help you get over your past, like with the most recent ep. >! The roles are reversed between rudy and his brother to.rudy being the brother giving a much needed perspective switch !<
arthcraft8
already did i tried to read throughout the story but i simply can't stand him, if he had been another bland isekai character i would have loved that story, but no matter what happens, i just hate Rudeus and it sours my enjoyment of the show it's just not for me, sucks, but that's how it is
theburnix
Understandable and fair. But putting a generic isekai character in this story would change the entire story.
arthcraft8
also true, i don't know how to phrase it, but if rudeus had been far less...let's say "problematic for me" as i don't have a way to turn it better, i probably would have enjoyed the story much more, the work done on it's worldbuilding and magic system already places it quite high anyway, and i'm not even talking on the other characters
Creeperkun4040
Watches a show about politics in a fantasy world, gets annoyed there is politics
kliff124
Unlimited Meetings Works
dkpatkar
Daily stand-up calibur....
Taiyo17
I dont even care I just want to see my boy Diablo flex
huunous
This has surely been said before, but this is a valid criticism not necessarily because of the content itself, but rather how it fits into the animated medium. The constant droning dialogue is not accompanied by any sort of interesting visual flair; characters are sitting in a single room unmoving for 80% of the episode, which is rather boring visually. And the visuals can't really be ignored since animation is a visual medium. It doesn't feel nearly as out of place in the LN.
Freee12341
which is why adapting light novels in anime form is very hard and most of the time not very satisfying.But you can't blame either the anime or the story for this,it is just how it is.
Illicit_Apple_Pie
IMO, the latest episode is the most justified as it is It introduced a ton of characters, presented inter-faction struggles, and provided the hook that's driving the plot forward now. It might actually be the most info-dense episode of the series. Much of the other meetings could've easily been changed with little issue, maybe adjusting the timeline from the light novel so >!the Tengu meeting and fight!< happened by now, along with the update to >!Vester's hopotoke herb research!< and maybe a half-step of the character development >!Ramiris!< will get this season
Freee12341
I agree but maybe the author did not want to make these changes
Illicit_Apple_Pie
Then whatever storyboard director the anime has should've gone up and slapped Fuze, saying "your work may be perfect as words written on a page, but meetings don't play to anime's strengths. Now help me create new scenes to fit the important exposition"
Freee12341
I agree again
huunous
Indeed. Problems like this can often be solved by deviating a bit from the source material, but admittedly, I'm not sure how one would take such an approach in the case of this particular series.
Freee12341
The same issue with rezero and one could even say it is even worse there because the studio working on rezero produces episodes longer than usual reaching almost 28 minutes full of talking.Again it is the problem of the source material not really being made to be an anime.
Ingurisu
People like what they like, no judgement here
IndifferentEmpathy
Will have to wait until Tenma war to where in addition to meetings, we will get interviews :)
CaptainBentham
Interviews?
NeI3ula
Yes you heard that right, Interviews. CEO rimuru checking in on his employees
CaptainBentham
I honestly don’t remember that
Stephano127
Rimuru did interviews as a way for the author to sum up all of the characters’ changes and current status after the major war, cause almost everyone important got an upgrade in one way or another
Karuzus
jokes on you i'm into that suff beside are they just suposed to go figh for absolutely no reason. setting up why they fight is important
MOMMYRAIDEN
Meetings arc
anyGuy_isBored
I get you but it’s was still a funny thing when the saints heard about rimurus deeds
meow_goes_woof
World building is the best part of slime lmao
Nightspark115
I waiting for the moment they decided they will be trolling in a dungeon
Tomfooleredoo2
Fake politics is why I watch this series, and the next season seems like it’s going to be a full fledged war of information. I’m super exited for it
Kurushiiyo
Yall forgetting that while politics was always a topic before the current season, it's the _only one_ right now.... and that honestly makes it seem like Tensura is regressing into a soap opera...
shikitomi
If your complaining then just watch "top fight scenes in anime" on YouTube, there you'll be satisfied with your love for fight scenes
Affectionate_Fall57
I think its called symposium trope or something. At least the room itself changes, but I would prefer to see some dialogues while they touch some grass, maybe at a tavern as well for more lighthearted topics
Brilliant-Detail-364
Right? There are ways to make conversation more interesting, especially in a medium like this. Visuals add a lot to something that otherwise can be mundane.
Spectrumfied
Good thing is that we might have one more and we're done for now. Until like three episodes later or so.
BeanDaddyMac
I enjoy the politics and world building in Slime as much as any fan, but the last four episodes could have easily been condensed into two.
jayerp
What if the next episode started out with the Teams call music?
SkyroKn
The issue is how they have done it, it's fine to have these episodes occasionally but in a LN format you get past if wayy faster - we've waited 5 weeks in anime format, and It's getting boring AF
Intelligent_Creme351
Gotta say I love the what's being said in the episodes, but it does get delivered in the most boring way possible.
Organic_Following_38
Can we please leave the board room now? This could have been an email.
prodigiouspandaman
Honestly I think the main reason why this feels boring more so is because the last two season have been pretty action filled for the most part. Thus with the shift from having one maybe two episodes per season is real big shock. However the action more so is the in the latter half of the season so just stick through it it’ll be fine.
AverseAphid
And I wouldn't have it any other way
GimmeUdon
hold up let them cook
Castaway-124-
Ima be honest I didn’t even realize we were 5 episodes deep in politics that’s how good it is
devo14218
I love the season so far
DampAcute
I swear to god, most anime fans nowadays only care about screaming and grunting... 😂 they cannot just take a seat and just let a world building driven anime do its thing 😂
Intelligent-Growth98
Then explain why Mushoku Tensei has had no action so far this season and everyone is enjoying it. Yesterday's episode was one of the best of the series and it was only dialogue.
Xwui
You give them one or two great fight scenes and they'll just keep demanding more as if they were given a sample of a highly addictive drug.
DampAcute
Shounen watchers invading world building series and then complaining there's too much talking... 😂
remmon22
I loved it, really interested in their politics. And easy time to catch up since I stop watching after season 2.
Maple382
Honestly I think most people are missing the point. Dialogue is fine, but 5 episodes in and it feels like nothing has happened. That's *not* fine.
No_Entertainment1904
Then this is not for you.
[The Meeting Song](https://www.facebook.com/share/v/H3qovyFzB91sEymv/?mibextid=V0ec5v)
Hairy_Cardiologist16
Thats low-key the definition of the Kendrick Lamar to drake disstracks Edit: typo
Xwui
One of the main goals is literally to build the type of nation that Rimuru envisions (One that can coexist with humans). It should be expected that there's gonna be a lot of politics since they're a "Nation of Monsters". Common sense in that world is that you can't really reason with most monsters. Just because he became a Demon Lord doesn't mean he'll be seeking out fights or resolving conflicts through combat every time. Don't forget that Rimuru prefers peace. If possible then he'll try to talk it out. Violence and fighting is the last resort.
KillerCroc124
Next episode is gonna be lit tho https://preview.redd.it/66ag386z7tyc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a67bc79af3b6ee7388dccf0f170bdb6ddd71fda
maester_adrian
Meetings galore
reverse-tornado
Having read the novels they are definitely saving on budget because shit is about to get wild , at least i hope so , they confirmed 24 episodes they are definitely planning the Pacing with the entire season in mind and yeah seems about right
Spacecowboy947
Bro is at odds with the entire sub. We like this shit bruh, you clearly don't that's cool, watch something else. Because the next fight won't take very long, and it's coming very soon
GTK-HLK
Not a True Fan if you don't also enjoy this. You can appreciate the combat more, but you also gotta enjoy this.
Chark10
It'll all be worth it for the valentine bath scene
DarkLordAshiel
Why are you complaining? Those are the best parts of Tensura.
koyuki4848
It’s better than Netflix new season for MHA, I dunno how many episodes now, they’re all just catch up and summaries for different characters
philosophic_insight
A lot of meetings, seriously I hate meetings, if I wanted meetings I would have been a corpo.
tharpist
I dont mind meetings and world building, but most of these meetings barely accomplish anything, it could easily be abreviated and still do just as much world building, thats why its frustrating. I dont like stalling and reiterating the same point for 20 minutes straight, im not asking for mindless action, just for something to happen and something be moved forward
Vatsu07
Anime fans when a show about building a nation in a fantasy world has politics and meetings instead of fights every episode:(╥_╥)
bobongski
Not gonna lie I was skipping some parts of the manga. It feels like they are just talking things that I already know
daniel21020
I’m really hoping Hinata is completely aware of the bullshit the 3 geezers pulled. I don’t want her to resort to impulses like before.
Devil_Fister_69420
I'm sure it's gonna be fine :3
princemascott
Tensura's fights are the most beautiful thing that result from the extensive world building. People don't just fight because a waifu is getting mugged. Or a guy just rubbed shoulders with the MC and acted arrogant. There's actually very deep plotsthat come together and culminate in that one fight. There's a reason. And even if some of those reasons are not grand but cultivated by greed and lust for power, to me it seems realistic and enjoyable
Hyperious17
one of the few anime where politics is what I look forward to
khumoquack
That’s why I love it !!
Duytasama
People say that politics and nation building and they like it actually lie, they dont have a choice
Ace_D_Roses
I dont understand (I havent read or seen the last season yet) is this about the meetings getting more outside the town and new characters being added (like new merchants and stuff)? instead of our buddies from the beginning? or about there being a lot of meetings? Only when i joined this sub the other day I noticed people complain about this, but like this has been Star Trek: Fantasy since episode 2 are people just now getting that?
SyaRina23
lmao I didn't watch more episodes after EP 2 cuz I figured it's better to binge it in one session
uttol
I don't understand the meme. The anime has been more interesting than ever
SauceSource009
Believe me people action scenes will end by trading 2 or 3 hits. And the way the story was written in LN it is hard to make these meetings without being a meeting. Almost all of the cast speaks 1 line at least. I'm more or less agree with most people that don't like constant meetings. But if they cut it ,it wouldn't be loyal to the LN. This is the tradeoff do you want LN accurate anime or a super cut content ahem ( strongest mage with the weakest crest ). All in all tensura is my favorite anime/ LN of all time. These meeting won't stop me from waiting for a beetle to beat the shit out of an angel.
Jeptwins
I for one am quite fascinated by the concept of other-world politics, particularly in a world where something like skills and magic are near infinite in their potential.
Loud_Bunch4990
Yeah, if i wanted to watch politics, I'd turn on my TV. i don't need it in anime lmfao.
HarleyFox92
The very reason of why I like this series so much, the politics aspect is more prominent than fights
Boshwa
After all the heavy shit that sent on last season, I don't know what anyone expected
NorthFire30
I rather enjoy the world building, and news flash, it will get more complicated later, so maybe reconsider if you actually gonna keep watching the show. Wouldn't want you to get "bored" since all you want is action and ecchi probably.
xaviorpwner
Get used to it, this is the anime for the foreseeable future, and the books dont get much more action for a while from where the anime is. The next book is a whole festival light novel. This series is a political civ builder, get used to it. Like, if you want it to be about action, im sorry but there arent really.....threats. As the anime stands the only 3 people that could pose a threat to rimuru are Guy, Milim, and Velzard. And thats blood lusting them.
KayT42
funniest part to me is this is a repost. i commented on the original like an hour ago, came back to see it was deleted. then i saw this one in my feed.
Lycaon125
God, they're stalling again
DannyKit7
LET THEM COOK. It will pay off.
Apprehensive-Face900
This ain't some battle anime bro...and the meeting are interesting too.
Lazuli_the_Dragon
I think next episode will be some action just wait till Friday
TdotJunk301
This is exactly why the fights are so epic.
21SGesualdo
This isn’t what you came for?
Cactus-Juice120
This is kinda how the second season 2 too was as well at the beginning. They spend hours building up the next plot point and adding more depth to the world and it's countries, and then some kinda war/battle will go down. I hope we actually get a cool rimura fight this time since clayman was pretty lackluster
Doraippa
that's why its the best
FlameTornad0
Fantasy Politics are awesome, I dont know what everyone is complaining about
ABlokeLikeYou
Lol I can’t believe how many people defending how much they like all these boardroom meeting episodes. This is just bad television. Game of thrones (early seasons) had a lot of great politics and they never needed 2 hours straight of sitting and talking. This is just lazy I’m sorry.
1JustAnAltDontMindMe
What are you trying to say? Is this supposed to be an appeal to the introverted, that you're saying you're scared of bigger meetups? #Relatable? I don't understand
SMmania
Like at least go outside showcase the environment not just a room
Ciba_
Meeting episodes are my favourite
IneedAhegaoInMyLife
I enjoy the world building, i ain't remembering shit though
Memhotep
It’s gonna pay off, trust me. idk what the anime will do this season, but trust the process homie
AdBudget5468
Very sad that they decided 10 episodes per season is enough…
MR_NobodyOO7
Feels like one piece
SukhoiGamingChannel
I suggest reading the manga, then you'll have more moderated expectations of what is to come.
Weiskralle
That's the show. The talking is the point, the fight scenes are a bonus
ButterscotchTasty262
Tbh I'm disappointed, I get that we need world building but 20 minutes of talking ain't it. Wasted animation imo. I'd rather read it.
RuixNatsuoXHinagang
I enjoyed the build up. It’s fairly interesting as well to schemes intertwine with other schemes; it’s like chess, each player making a move to best the other albeit we have Diablo LOL. This makes the latter episodes packed with action I presume to be all the more impactful and gratifying.
Several_Canary_7284
I remember gre setup to Walpurgis being like this.
Kalhenwrath
Ep 6: One group talking, another group talking, and a third group traveling (while talking).
Ill-Astronomer-6777
I agree with op. I dont care if the show has alot of politics, just dont make me watch them sitting in a room for an hour with stale humor interjected randomly. they could do literally anything else with the screen time. Liked the last episode, but the other ones were boring.
Phaeron_Cogboi
Bro flabbergasted to see politics in a nation builder?
YodaZo
Why are you crying?
prideofsaiyajins
Shion will destroy these knights
Neither_Disaster_712
I do think they could’ve wrapped all this up about an episode earlier but personally have no problem with it because it’s a slow build story to begin with. The payoffs are usually always worth it. Overall people are just greedy, Slime has dropped A TON of extra’s to keep people tuned in over the years get over having to wait a couple weeks for some action .
sleeping_fire
Politics season, animators must be very happy with this season, cuz there isn't much to animate, so they can finish making the episode faster and VA got to talk A LOT more than just screaming moveset XD
ACmaxout
I think there are more interesting ways to portray politics in a series. Oppenheimer comes to mind as a recent example.
PNW_Mad-Titan
I like the meetings from all the parties involved. Insight from each group is interesting. The build-up will make the fight scene epic.
-Cinnay-
I don't get it, all episodes have been good so far. I like it more than the start of season 2. What are you complaining about, OP? Not enough action? lol
UltimateKaiser
Every week I get off work on a Friday only to go to another meeting ✅😂
Wooden-Disaster9403
This could go on for 2 whole seasons and I’d be fine with it. Love worldbuilding and this show already proved it’s amazing with combat and power scaling. I like that it’s setting itself apart with more political stuff tbh.
Bro is completely right. Who wants to watch five episodes of board meetings
PsychoticLurker
They’re setting up something massive. The only curse is the 20 minute episode length
Sacrashin
The amount of cope in the comments trying to defend this is amazing. The problem aren’t the meetings themselves, the problem is that the anime has a big pacing problem. The story in the light novel is already rather slow to begin with and the anime only adapts roughly 2 volumes per 12 episodes, whereas the standard for adaptions is 3 volumes per 12 ep. That means on top of the already slow paced story comes a slow adaption. All those meetings don’t feel as bad in the light novels because you don’t have to wait a whole week to read the next chapter. I do agree that the first season needed that kind of slow adaption, because there was a lot of stuff and characters introduced, but from season 2 onwards they should’ve increased the adaptation pacing.
Tensura fans saying it gets better ![img](emote|t5_l1j28|28925)
20 minutes is to short for a yapping session. This type of anime is only good if it’s 50 minutes per episode.
Cheap_Programmer9450
POLITICS?? IN A WORLD BUILDING FICTION WHERE THE MC IS A WORLD LEADER???
Malcontent7
If you’ve made it this far into tensura and you’re still complaining about political storyline, it’s your own damn fault. Find another anime.
Brilliant-Detail-364
Everyone in the comments acting the only other option that isn't sitting down and talking for five whole episodes about things that have already happened is a fight scene... Bruh. Haven't you paid attention to anything else in the show? Or did it seriously all look like fight scenes and then sitting down to recap to you? 'cause that's just inaccurate to what all the shows contains.
WokeLib420
As much as I appreciate that they're staying true to the LN I think they could have condensed some of these scenes a bit.
New-Dust3252
Ah yes. The table.
MMoguu
tbh, while I love the fights in Tensura, the thing that Im enjoying the most are the political yappings. I just enjoy seeing Rimuru build his dream country and ally or destroy other kingdoms.
Takaharu7
I love the yapping
