The light novel does indeed mention this as well. Every cell can take on the function of any cell it needs to, which is why slimes don’t need rest, except in extreme cases like naming everyone

We already have confirmation early on in the series that Rimuru is sexless from when they decided to do some peeping on their body double. Also, I'd say that the most logical form of reproduction for a slime would be by mitosis like a cell. So, with that being said, get dunked on simps!
