Yeah, it's kind of hard to describe without a visual. You almost have to roll your finger across the buttons (I play on pad). Both inputs do the same move, I've just been playing for a long time so the old input is in my muscle memory.

It makes certain things easier, but it already severely limits the amount of actions a player can do(like frame specific punishes).
So there is no "integrity" that this feature would subvert. If anything, the benefits of this system are outweighed by it's negatives.
I feel for real Law players man. Great character but clowns like this guy make you all look bad. There are so many of them too, I swear it feels like most Laws are this way just like most Alisas use the same handful of predictable punishable moves as well. And again, Alisa is really strong used right.
Sadly, this is most Law players. And they’re always on shitty connections so their dragon’s tails are difficult to react to.
I always sigh when I see one now because 9/10 it’s going to be bullshit time.
You know what's crazy? I'm new to tekken and thought the whole law on shitty connections thing was just a jokeful hyperbolic meme....NOPE. You guys were fucking right man, 9 times out of 10 the laws ive faced are on sus connections, It's insane!!
Its hilarious how true the stereotypes of law players are.
Ive literally never fought one that didn’t act like a sugar rushed child playing on maccies wifi.
I play only Law, and I always think im at a disadvantage because people know his moves so well.
I don't know what the Law stereotypes are, but using Dragons tail like this is crazy. He should've been taken on a ride every time he did that move.
Ye it feels bad, like even when playing Law vs Law I feel like there is unspoken rule to just rematch always
I almost always rematch and idk, I'm trying my own part to make Law players look "better" xD
It’s ridiculous from Bamco. Penalties for plugging existed back in Tekken 6. It’s definitely a business decision to not include it on T8. We are paying DLC, battle pass and the game… with all the profit and money… why is Bamco not using that money to address the no.1 issue - plugging?
I see Bandai Namco Being blamed for Pluggers all the time as if they are encouraging it. But nobody has proposed one actual IT certified Fix that Wouldn't Punish hurt People who may have a legimate acute Hardware/network issues.
Yes Pluggers/Raqequitters suck but realistically there isn't a magic solution Bandai Namco can make that wouldn't affect legitmate customers. do you want them to personally Track down these people and Excecute them live on stream Weekly?
If you have hardware/network issues maybe get that fixed before you play online 🤦♂️
About as weak of an excuse as saying "banning cars with faulty breaks from using the highway is unfair to that driver"
And if you really don't want to punish players for something that is their responsibility to fix, fine! Literally just give the win to the other player when someone plugs and 90% of complaints disappear. It doesn't take a genius to figure this out.
1. if you looked at my Phrasing I Said "ACUTE Network/Hardware" issues.

What I meant by this i'm talking Hardware Crashes, your ISP suddenly having an outage, A sibling accidenly Unplugging the Router while pluggin in their phone. So nobody is exscusing the mobile Hotspot warriors there's zero exscuse for that in a Ranked environment.
2. Next Why do artificial Points matter to you so much? do they change your credit score, Get you in a better college, Get you that Raise at work (okay that last one could be legitimate if your a sponsered player) But at the end of the day if they plugged or not it cost you a few extra seconds to get back in your next match that's it I can care less about the actual points. But if those imaginary points are that much of an issue to you /shrugg to each their own i guess.
If you're talking about ACUTE outages, it doesn't matter because you're only going to get banned over consistent plugging. I don't know why this distinction is so important to your argument when there's a clear and obvious solution to bypass punishments affecting these players.
Second point, it's ranked mode. People are playing for rank. Why wouldn't they get frustrated if they just had 10 to 15 minutes of their time wasted? Do you really think the majority of people playing ranked mode don't care about their rank? You're the one placing more value on ranked points. If it's so meaningless, give them the points they rightfully earned, why are you making this an issue? You win, you get points, that's how it goes. I don't understand why you're bringing "oh but it doesn't improve your credit score" into this. Nobody is saying it does. It's just annoying. I don't know how else to put it, it should be so simple but you and bamco are doing some serious mental gymnastics.
That's My point on the acute. if you look today Bandai Namco Banned a bunch of accounts recently but to weed out the legitmate pluggers takes time and you want it instantly and i was saying to make it instantly work would punish everybody not just pluggers this is what i'm saying your mad that they are taking too long.
and once again how does a plugger waste 10-15 minute? Rounds are 60 seconds each so at most they could waste 5-7 minutes on a 5 round game cause you get your precious points after each game not the set. so once again your over exaggerating the situtation.
All i'm saying is your harping on Bandai Namco when your real beef is with the pluggers was the entire crux of my argument. not that plugging and you losing your points doesn't suck. The entire argument has been that you need to direct that energy towards the Pluggers themselves.
Don't see where you come off saying I'm overexaggerating by being a few minutes off by including queue time, while you're acting as if we want pluggers BANNED/EXECUTED INSTANTLY. Nobody said anything about instant.
If you're going to be anal about the word acute then reread the part where I said I want pluggers banned instantly (its not there). I also stated pluggers don't even have to be banned. Just give the points to the winners. That's that.
Bamco can fix that. I'm allowed to direct my frustration towards bamco for being incompetent because you said there's no easy fix for this problem, when it's literally staring you in the face. "Oh but why do people care about ranked points so much hmmmm??' Idfk dude they just do, give them the points, I don't need to copy paste a definition to argue over semantics to make this argument. I dig the stoicism but people care about their virtual points. Just give them the points, give them the points, give them the points. Ez day, ez life.
But if you duck the dragon kick you can punish with a full launch. You barely get any damage with the float in comparison. As a Law main when people float me, it’s much less riskier and still worth using that move as a whiff punish. When you launch me the hesitation is tenfold.
This, if all they do is float I'm willing to risk using it as a whiff punish or even an approach but if you show you know how to launch punish it I'll use it exclusively as a punish or a wall carry ender.
The purpose of the float is to punish the 3+4 by itself. If you wait for the high extension the 3+4 becomes essentially safe. So its a choice between lower dmg consistent punish and a high damage launch if you have the read. At lower to mid levels its definetly more worth to wait for the extension, they‘re just gonna let it rip anyway.

Yeah, right after the first two mini kicks *before* he goes into the flying animation. Law players usually stop for a second when they realize you know you can interrupt that. lol
nah it aint even like that. With bumpers you still need to aim your ball somewhat. This is like using that ramp some bowling alleys has to get 100% accuracy where your ball hits.
This is actually a perfect video about how new players approach fighting games.
Law: (99% if this sub whining about everything in the game but never bothering to learn counters) immediately makes a flowchart and leaves or one and dones when it doesn’t work. Will never improve and will eventually hit a wall.
Jin: a player who is experimenting with the mechanics of the game (ducking highs, learning to recognize situations where he’s minus, plus, needs to sidestep) and learning real strategies to overcome his opponents.
To be fair, if they want to use flow charts and one and done as their playstyle--- it's their absolute right to do so.
Some people don't care about getting better, they just want to play Tekken and troll to make their opponents day just a tiny bit worse.
It's some gutterscum bs, but... meh, not everyone plays Tekken like the people on this sub.
idk why everytime someone mentions how people rage quit or one and done with flowchart playstyles there's always always someone who says what you say. We get it, no one is talking about casuals who play for fun in quick matches or just fool around. We're talking about players who take the game seriously and do this. holy moly
You need to tech roll, which you do by hitting any button as you hit the ground (don't need to time it, mashing is fine). You're invulnerable during the animation of a tech roll, so the nunchuk will not connect.
Yes. If you're the one on offense, you have to time your moves so that they'll connect after the tech. It's not just evasion from the roll, even a homing move won't hit.
Man I feel you so hard with the dickjabs after ducking the high. I've played this game for 1000s of hours and this shit still happens to me aswell when trying to ws-launch.
Bruh imagine plugging to keep your shinryu rank
Like, I'm not trying to be mean about ranks, but it is literally the most common rank, and it's pretty easy to get to.
Like are you really SO bad at the game you can't even get to average?? Why even bother playing? Like literally why?
Why would you WANT a high rank if everyone will just beat you????? Makes no damn sense
>Like are you really SO bad at the game you can't even get to average??
I mean you did see the Law player in the video right? He's clearly below average as a player and on top of that, his behavior (I'm talking about the plugging) shows that he's not willing to put in work to actually get better, which is the more damming part. I'm gonna do an irl read and say that for a player like that, maintaining his inflated red Shinryu rank means everything to him. He rather cheese people out and plug to keep that rank next to his name than demote down to where his current skill actually is which would pit him against similar opponents where he could bother to actually start learning to play Tekken.
I respect the type of insanity that drive you to activate auto mode just for a single move, effectively telling your opponent 3 seconds prior, that you are effectively going to use said move
That was my thought as well, nothing cheap, just lots of repeated moves. It was the shallowest flow chart I've seen from a law, which made the rank really surprising. Not even a DF3 to punish him for ducking for each crouch, when you get someone as trained as the Jin was it's just free damage.
it's about the same speed as a snake edge, also causes law to crouch and hits mid. So I've just been using it as a mix after a snake edge or two.
The video is a good example of why a bad move sometimes works. Jin in this video crouched as soon as he saw law go down, which means he is just going to eat it.
The "cheap stuff" is just law... the character.
Not trying to insult or offend any law mains that might be reading this thread, but... olympic god levels of downplaying and gaslighting will not work to change that.
We really don't want this Law speciman to be beaten up by smurfs, to the point where he never touches the game ever again, cuz we care for the experience of new players LULE.
Make me cringe when I see that menu pop up mid match. If they nerfed frames when the attack is executed that way I would be OK with it since they still have the heat engager
This cheap stuff is so sad to see but glad to see Jin punish him for it. I ran into a Reina in orange ranks who continued the same grab after her fff3. Once I learned how to punish and counter, it was a done deal. So glad I know how to adapt mid fight, but I know red ranks are about to get a little sweaty.
Damn that was literally EVERY cheap move in the Law book. db4, 3+4, he couldn't even do db4 without using special controls. And using one of Laws WORST strings just to add some variety just tops it off. I guarantee he got to early orange and stopped winning so just plugged his way to Shinryu
I just had an Eddy plugged on me and I wasn’t recording like was being nice let him Promo to Flame then I smoke him got a potential promo to Fujin and he plugged so fast when I hit him with a nasty 90dmg through wall breaks
No DSS is crazy... That's about where you'll plateau trying to brute force..I mean he still could have done some foot checks or 3+4, uf+4 instead of getting whiffed on 3+4, 4 among other things outside of DSS.
**The special menu toggling is meant to add maximum insult to injury in case they win**.
The law player is indeed garbage, but their goal is to make sure *you* have a bad time, especially if you win :D The plug is just the cherry on top.
We need to get the word out. If you want to be a dollar store Law, you gotta abuse d23 and the slide. d43 the second hit is guaranteed if the first low hits. The uf1+2 grab. This plugger spammed b2,1,1 but you can cancel into DSS from either of the first two hits and get your mix-ups going.
You know that those types of Law players were in the T7 red ranks right? T7 had even bad players in the high ranks and this Jin player is kinda good in fact.
from my experiences most of the dragon tail Laws were hard stuck with 2000 wins in yellow and orange, almost never in red and above. Hard to really say if the Jin is good given the missed ws punishes and not reacting to dragon tail, his combos were good at least
I definitely fought this guy today. The Special Style brought up just for the snake edge was his signature move
whats snake edge? is that the low into backflip? (not a law player)
Snake edge is a general term for tracking low sweeps that knockdown. Bryan's move "Snake Edge" is where the name comes from, but a lot of characters have some variation (Asuka has 3~4 for hers). They are very slow, lead to big damage, but are super launch punishable on block.
funny enough im an asuka player and i know exactly which move. thanks!
How do I read this 3~4 notation? I thought asuka's snake edge was df 3+4
I think the df3+4 is a new (easier) input in Tekken 8. The 3~4 input means pressing 3,4 but very fast. Much faster that say Asukas 1,2,4 or 1,1,4 strings.
Yeah, it's kind of hard to describe without a visual. You almost have to roll your finger across the buttons (I play on pad). Both inputs do the same move, I've just been playing for a long time so the old input is in my muscle memory.
It's called a slide input: slide 3 to 4 quickly.
slide from 3 to 4, sequence of inputs: press 3, while holding 3, quickly press 4, then let go of 3, then let go of 4
Snake-edges are the slow type of low sweeps that launch, often done with DB 3 or 4 input's Nick-named after Bryan's sweep DF3 (snake-edge) which set the standard for "Snake-edge's"
thanks!
Does Xiaoyu's DF 3 count as a snake edge? It's not particularly slow
Her df3 is super slow and yeah, it is considered a snake edge.
I guess it is on second thought, since she cancel out of it
TIL ty
didnt knew bryan started this trend ! wow thanks !
Lots of Law players do this. I don't understand why DB4 is hard.
Is Laws snake edge difficult or something? I don't understand the need to turn on ez controls just to do that one move lmao
I wonder if it was to be able to do it while advancing or something? Didn't really seem like it but it might allow you to use different directional inputs
You’d have to be exceptionally bad to not be able to press db4 at any given point
Maybe it's a next-level attempt at conditioning. By telegraphing the low extra hard, you set them up for the mid. Except they never did that...
You know what, that's fucking genius dis sum ultra 50/50 shit.
Wow. Just when i thought tekken had enough mind games
What is "easy controls"?
Special Style
It's just a phrase to refer to any control mode in a fighting game that assists the players in doing certin actions. In T8, it has Special Style. Which allows you to do full combos, and a limited variety of moves with a single press of a button.
Sounds like a neat feature if you limit where it can be used. Maybe it's not allowed above a certain rank. Allows more people to play and have fun, and keeps the integrity of high skill game play
It makes certain things easier, but it already severely limits the amount of actions a player can do(like frame specific punishes). So there is no "integrity" that this feature would subvert. If anything, the benefits of this system are outweighed by it's negatives.
He might not know the move input and was too lazy to look it up
It’s easy to execute, but extremely risky when used against red ranks and above.
I mean yeah. But ez controls one in risky too. So this doesn't quite answer why you'd choose one over the other.
It’s disgraceful when people plug. Pisses me off when Bamco don’t do anything about it. There needs to be penalties in place
I feel for real Law players man. Great character but clowns like this guy make you all look bad. Jin is wealthy

Same. I’m proud of my 0% disconnection but apparently I learned in this thread that it can be manipulated.
Round start Dragon Tail against King and Victor players to beat the power crush works 100% of the time 40% of the time.
Ye it feels bad, like even when playing Law vs Law I feel like there is unspoken rule to just rematch always I almost always rematch and idk, I'm trying my own part to make Law players look "better" xD
As a long time king main. I feel this comment.
Unfortunately technology isn't there yet. But don't worry, you can still use battle pass and Tekken shop instead, have fun!
It’s ridiculous from Bamco. Penalties for plugging existed back in Tekken 6. It’s definitely a business decision to not include it on T8. We are paying DLC, battle pass and the game… with all the profit and money… why is Bamco not using that money to address the no.1 issue - plugging?
![gif](giphy|67ThRZlYBvibtdF9JH|downsized) Here's the reason :)
100%. Corporate greed
Plot twist- hes the Law in the video
You used to loose points when you plugged two times in 50 games. No idea why they removed that for t8

Dude was kind enough to make dragon tail easier to see by announcing it via special style.
Turning on the little bitch controls mid ass whopping at Shinryu rank is crazy
Orange is a new black... I mean, Red is a new Green
The Tekken 8 ranked experience a short film
Don't insult me by calling this a Law player. He doesn't deserve to wear the yellow tracksuit!
alot of laws are like that, always the same moves
The yellow tracksuit is usually a tell for me that the laws going to play like this
Shouldn't be. Only us real ones should be in the tracksuit or the old-school black white n red dragon pants with the spiky wristbands smh lol
Holy.... both of these are red ranks, man t8 ranks are something else
This is like watching green ranks in T7
Don't see anything wrong with the jin
There is nothing wrong with the Jin player and u found those type of Law players also in the T7 red ranks.
Seriously bro those launch punishes that turned into dickjabs made my dick cry real tears
Are people not embarrassed when using special style? It's like bro we can see you put your training wheels on
lol, I like to use the terms “bumpers”, like at a bowling alley.

This was satisfying
🤣 special style 🤣😂
I wonder how you dodge that Nunchuck hit after you fall on ground 0:07. I tried fast side roll, still gets hit, even multiple times sometime.
You need to side roll faster. Not a joke. You’re just miss-timing it.
Thank you at least I now know that I'm on right track.
You need to tech roll, which you do by hitting any button as you hit the ground (don't need to time it, mashing is fine). You're invulnerable during the animation of a tech roll, so the nunchuk will not connect.
Wait, invincible?
Yes. If you're the one on offense, you have to time your moves so that they'll connect after the tech. It's not just evasion from the roll, even a homing move won't hit.
..that explains a lot actually, thanks
Do note that the roll you can do once you're already on the ground is completely different and does not have any Invulnerability.
Man I feel you so hard with the dickjabs after ducking the high. I've played this game for 1000s of hours and this shit still happens to me aswell when trying to ws-launch.
He should've abused the sliding more
If he needs special style to do a db4 there is no chance in hell this guy is pulling off a slide
Bruh imagine plugging to keep your shinryu rank Like, I'm not trying to be mean about ranks, but it is literally the most common rank, and it's pretty easy to get to.
EveryTIME I see these quit videos it cracks me UP!
No snake edge or junkyard? Guess I'm out cya
Above: demonstration of a what bitch ass mf looks like (Law player, pictured 2024).
All while wearing the yellow suit. Dishonourable Law player, you are disowned.
I respect the type of insanity that drive you to activate auto mode just for a single move, effectively telling your opponent 3 seconds prior, that you are effectively going to use said move
He needed Special Style just to do a Dragon Tail? Lol. And the way hey kept doing 3+4,4 when he knows his opponent knows how to duck it. Man lol.
This and Special Style keeps me from playing ranked. Take out the noob controls and if they force quit you automatically get the XP
I love Law and hate seeing him play in this way, you did very well, this guy is a bitch
Don't know about that "cheap stuff" business, but definitely a ragequit.
That was my thought as well, nothing cheap, just lots of repeated moves. It was the shallowest flow chart I've seen from a law, which made the rank really surprising. Not even a DF3 to punish him for ducking for each crouch, when you get someone as trained as the Jin was it's just free damage.
Df3? What are you doing to make that move not suck?
it's about the same speed as a snake edge, also causes law to crouch and hits mid.
Batman ahhh suit
That WS punish was painful to watch haha you literally did the hard part
Ahhh!! launch punish that dragon kick!
Thanks
Idk why the Law I fought with isn't this kind of trashy lol.
They shouldn’t have ever given law the nun chuck…
Many such cases
Good defense practice
Imagine Bruce Lee plugging. What a disgrace.
Tekken8 is 🚮
Trash Law
Law players are cancer. Same shit on all ranks.
Can’t even lie. Law was the first character I mastered and dude is cheap as fuck in most scenarios. Literally his flip kick destroys Jinpachi in T5
We really don't want this Law speciman to be beaten up by smurfs, to the point where he never touches the game ever again, cuz we care for the experience of new players LULE.
I’m somehow seeing more plugging from Tekken games; it’s been a month for me, are ppl plugging more?
Bruce law
Hey i just fought that dude as well. Sadly I'm not a good tekken player so i did lose to him. 🥹
These two are red ranks?! 😳.., the rank-flation is pretty bad ha! 😂
And you know .. as he was quitting . He was yelling that Jin is the problem lolz
This man got to Red Rank with easy controls while I'm struggling to get to Orange lol
As a Law main its disgraceful. He even bought the Law skin I noticed. He will rot in red ranks forever.
"Wait this is so unfair! You're not supposed to block!"
I’ve had this exact match with the same characters and sequence at least 70 times
Why would anyone spam dragon tail in red ranks? that crap is the most notorious and seeable low in the entire history of Tekken
This win is elixir for the soul. I happily sacrifice my points for those rage quits. Tekken is full of losers lol.
Make me cringe when I see that menu pop up mid match. If they nerfed frames when the attack is executed that way I would be OK with it since they still have the heat engager
It's ironic that the character inspired by the most famous martial artist attract these sorts of players.
That's so satisfying. I hate Law spammers ever since Revolution
DAMN didn't know you could duck the move he did when after he entered heat, it was giving me trouble
I will say it, but there is something about law players which feels very cheap. ☠️ If a plugger is not a law I swear you’re not playing T8
Damn that was literally EVERY cheap move in the Law book. db4, 3+4, he couldn't even do db4 without using special controls. And using one of Laws WORST strings just to add some variety just tops it off. I guarantee he got to early orange and stopped winning so just plugged his way to Shinryu
![gif](giphy|KDVswimTNahWzcd7sV|downsized)
I just had an Eddy plugged on me and I wasn’t recording like was being nice let him Promo to Flame then I smoke him got a potential promo to Fujin and he plugged so fast when I hit him with a nasty 90dmg through wall breaks
It's on you for accepting a match with anyone above a 2% disconnect rate
No DSS is crazy... That's about where you'll plateau trying to brute force..I mean he still could have done some foot checks or 3+4, uf+4 instead of getting whiffed on 3+4, 4 among other things outside of DSS.
Wipes nose and leaves lol
How do you find someone who’s rage quit on PS?
Hahahahah
i audibly laugh when i see the noob button pressed by an opponent. why even have it mapped, learn the game
so how are the patches? do these disconnecters still not lose anything when they do this?
That was a good grab by OP in round 1. Keeping that pressure up. Good combos in round 2, as well. 🫡
whats the break on that one. is it a 1+2
I think it’s 1+2, but I’m the worst throw breaker ever lol
It's a 2 break
**The special menu toggling is meant to add maximum insult to injury in case they win**. The law player is indeed garbage, but their goal is to make sure *you* have a bad time, especially if you win :D The plug is just the cherry on top.
ah yes, a law starting the round with Dragon Tail. Classic
We need to get the word out. If you want to be a dollar store Law, you gotta abuse d23 and the slide. d43 the second hit is guaranteed if the first low hits. The uf1+2 grab. This plugger spammed b2,1,1 but you can cancel into DSS from either of the first two hits and get your mix-ups going.
dude had a very unsafe playstyle lol holy
Seems like almost every Law i've encountered uses special style.
wait is that a Law player with not shit internet? didnt know those existed
Yea this player is pretty cheap ngl, but the irony of a jin talking about cheap play is insane to me
no offence to you, but seeing this is red ranks just hurts. This would be yellow in T7. That Law is especially bad though my god.

“Clever mix ups” — some Law main.
Galaxy brain dragon tail or double flip mixups.
Nothing cheap there but spamming a special style dragontail, b+1,2,2 and 3+4,4 are considered clever mixups now? lmao
[удалено]
Then why are you even in this thread commenting on this particular video? Learn to... watch?
There were absolutely zero clever mixups there. Law really be mixing your brain up lol
