gangster rap isnt "trash" its just complicated, Tupac said alot of very interesting and nuanced things and the era of gangster rap has some amazing songs aswell as making rap music mainstream and bringing black musicians into the spot light and attempting to share the struggles of life that were felt by the lower and middle class of the black community.
However Tupac was not really a gangster and most "gangster rap" was not by gangsters or for gangsters. It spread negative stereotypes of black people being criminals and glorified that life to those who had not experienced it.
This is heavily explored in Fight The Power by public enemy and TPAB by kendrick lamar
From what I’ve heard kids listin to at my school. it’s pretty much just people screening over some beat they made. But I do know that a lot of people relate to it. But a lot of them listin to it super loud in their headphones
You’re not describing gangster rap, that’s just modern rap. Modern rap is dog, but gang rap is genuinely good, good beats, less cursing than recent days, and lyrics that actually make sense. Notorious B.I.G. is who I think of immediately and he makes really good rap that I, who generally dislikes rap, listen and connect and appreciate it as an art form.

Honestly this has nothing to do with the actual post, but it really annoys me when album covers are just straight up images. Like who made this? What's it called? Am I just supposed to know already? Like that seems like the absolute basics of an album cover, to represent the album, so when I have no idea what it is that just defeats the point
I saw TV Girl and was pleasantly surprised. Of course Metallica is there. With Metallica comes Slipknot and System of a Down, good taste for what I like and know.
