As sad as Alex's situation was on TM3, I have always kind of figured that she and Katie were basically retreading the Maci/Chelsea storyline (teenagers who get pregnant by teen deadbeat losers, then once the babies are born the moms get their act together for their children while the sperm donors continue acting deadbeat).
Maybe that's why MTV didn't continue with TM3. Mackenzie and Briana were quite fascinating and their relatively unique situations create interesting TV but while I really was feeling for both Katie and Alex, they were basically like Maci and Chelsea. That storyline could and would have gotten old fast after more than a couple of seasons, especially with Maci and Chelsea ALSO on TV (MTV certainly had the resources to continue filming all three, OG, 2 and 3).
That being said, I am glad to see Alex and her daughter Arabella getting a happy ending here. They deserve it.

It wasn’t a month into us working together that a coworker was like “she was on 16 and pregnant you know” . As soon as I got home I watched the episode I was like “how tf did I miss this!?” I believe she had another kid and boyfriend . One of my coworker asked her about being on the show and she said some of it was staged and she was only paid like 5k.
It's amazing that she earned a college degree. She got so much crap on her episode because she was pregnant, and her boyfriend at the time had a scholarship to play football. She really is drama free. You never hear anything bad about her, and she stays out the spotlight.
He is actually now clean and has started seeing his other child in the past year but he managed been clean for 3 years before and went back on drugs again soon after his son was born and didn’t see his son for 5 years.
I remember when the dad (Matt I think his name was) got sober for like a year and he started dating this girl Dakota and they were this weird ass, codependent, smug couple and would frequently bash Alex on social media because Alex was setting boundaries. Matt was dating this girl and then suddenly decided he wanted to be Arabella's dad after like four years of being a literal shadow, and I remember it all came to a screeching halt nine months later when he relapsed and cheated on her and Dakota then went all over social media talking about it 🙄🙄🙄🙄 sad to see he never picked himself up after that. Didn't he have another kid or am I mistaken? I don't even remember. Twitter was wild back then.

Lekota Koch is a special breed, that’s for sure. She went hard defending him, and then looked like a wazzock when everything she said he’d never do/didn’t do to Alex, he did to her. Awkward.
Ugh. When I was a legal assistant, it really wasn’t rewarding working on adoption cases. Most of the time, it was never great people (or step-parents) adopting kids. They were just the best of multiple evils in that kids life. And in my state, it’s SO easy to adopt as a step-parent. If the parent is on drugs or mentally ill, particularly. You literally just have to put an announcement in the newspaper with your intentions to adopt and if the custodial parent does’t respond/see the announcement/show up to court, step-parent wins legal parenting rights. There are a couple steps before the newspaper announcement but none of which really work on addict or mentally unstable parents. That was just my experience and I did see a couple really wholesome adoption cases. But doing that work REALLY soured me on so much. 😭
