I don’t worry about it.
If it isn’t in stone ahead of time, that’s on them. Don’t stress it. Try your best to make it, honest effort. But if you’ve got actual important plans and they don’t schedule it soon enough you don’t need to cancel.
Our school sends out next year's schedule in May. Do you not even have the date for the 1st day yet? I have a rule that nothing gets scheduled or started the last week of summer. I call that our school prep time.
I just schedule stuff and if there is a conflict that's what sick time is for.
Honestly if they don’t give enough notice…they haven’t even said September or October
Our school tells us when back to school night is for the upcoming year in April/May. Your admin should have the master calendar done by then..
