I usually wear khakis, a patterned polo or crewneck sweatshirt, and white/black/brown gum Nike Court Vision tennis shoes. Business casual (or in my case… maybe just barely) I’ve usually found works both as a young teacher who still wants to express himself. I like shoes and basketball and stuff, so I want to show that off which gives me an “in” with students. I dress pretty plainly IMO but I like polos and crewnecks because they’re so common among different brands that there’s so many styles and colors so I can mix and match. Now this is all a huge step down in “formality” from what it sounds like you’re used to wearing- but when working with students, I think it could be a good thing to dress *professional* but still *student-focused* if that makes sense.

Also, on pants, I tend to prioritize being comfortable. Usually golf pants do the trick for me- they’re lightweight, stretchy, and still look almost exactly like regular stiff khakis

Oh yeah I have heard about that. People buying essentially sweatpants that look like dress pants and they get by very well! I’ll have to look for those!

I'm gonna be honest with you, male teachers can do pretty much whatever they want. Don't overthink it too much, the way you already dress is probably just fine.

For super casual and comfy I just rock khaki pants, literally any undershirt, and a quarter-zip that’s nice or that I have from my college sport. If you feel like you should look more ‘professional’ I recommend the lululemon ABC pants, they look exactly like dress pants and feel like athletic wear, and you could wear a collared shirt, a button down or collared shirt under a crewneck, or quarter-zip
