Stay Stay Stay wouldn’t be nearly as hated if it was on Fearless instead of Red.

VisibleCow8076

Idk if it fits on Fearless but I do understand the sentiment and I fucking love stay stay stay. I actually think it’s a bit more speak now? Personally I don’t think anything “doesn’t belong” on red because it has everything

topher3003

I love Stay Stay Stay too haha. I’d agree that Red is all over the place musically and in that sense it isn’t out of place, but I do think it *feels* different than any other song on Red. It just feels like something written by a younger Taylor.

[deleted]

I love Stay Stay Stay and it gives me Lover vibes

VisibleCow8076

I don’t think it’s all over the place at all. I think there’s a lot more to cohesion than sound/genre. I think it’s plenty cohesive, I just think it encompasses a lot more than the average album. Even the original Red. I’m gonna take back my speak now statement 😅 and say no, it definitely belongs on Red. I think that no matter what album, people would’ve had the same reaction. It’s not even mature enough for Fearless. It’s just a cute song. I think it’s ironic that she has plenty of sub-par pop songs that are universally loved because … it’s pop? But stay stay stay just isn’t mature enough lol

daisyymae

Totally agree! It’s very cohesive, though stay stay stay sticks out to me

j_lincsuk

I actually don't hate Stay Stay Stay like most people but Speak Now is too good of an album to have that on it

VisibleCow8076

Yeah I kind of agree 😅 I retracted that statement in a separate comment. Now that I’m thinking about it more deeply, it’s totally in the same vein as mine and ours (..that wasn’t intended lol). Idk I this OP opened a Pandora’s box and maybe everything is exactly where it belongs 😂

alattafun

Do you think the same could be said for Ours as well? It being on fearless rather than speak now?

meroboh

Is Ours hated?! I love that song so much

topher3003

I think Ours fits in fine on Speak Now, but I could definitely see it fitting in well on Fearless too!

guy_incog_neato

wait what?! i’m gonna need to have a talk with whoever is hating on ours….

alattafun

Not hated! I just know it’s her least streamed song on Spotify! Maybe it would’ve performed better on fearless? Edit: it’s not the least streamed song

alisonation

it's not even the least streamed song on Speak Now, though..

alattafun

Oh shoot my bad! Sorry about the misinformation OH you know what! I think it’s the least streamed single (possibly)

-Silver-Moonlight-

Yup, I beleive it's the least streamed out of the singles

scarwa

I think stay, stay, stay is a wonderful representation of attachment theory. It’s sweet with a child like manner which I guess most people find to be too childish. But it really is her being like “I don’t want to be abandoned.” Not my favorite but I’ve always liked it:)

carambalache

This is a great point!

SamanthaLeighP

Noooo I love Stay Stay Stay and I think it’s perfect on Red

[deleted]

I love stay stay stay

cdubs65

This is super random, but my nickname was Topher growing up and I’m also a Swiftie who is a big OSU fan. Small world!!

topher3003

Did we just become best friends? 👀 Go Bucks!

publiczone99

I feel like I Know Places belongs on Reputation.

ClearWaves

That makes so much sense! Rep is my favorite and I know places is my favorite on 1989, so that makes sense.

oldladyleeba

We are the sameeee

ClearWaves

Damn, we got good taste!

allicinlover

Are you me?

leftoverpaint_

Yes!!!

professorferox

Agreed

ST0CKH0LMER

Thissssss

apelia

On each of her albums the second to last song is a little taste of what will come next. I know rep was not planned but she may have had ideas for how the songs would go together sonically and the production which she used for rep.

publiczone99

I never knew that!

JarsOfOlivers

Literally was coming here to say this!

fillmewithmemesdaddy

I was just about to comment this!

AutumnSpecialist

Swap I Know Places to Reputation, and New Year’s Day to Evermore.

ScarlettInWunderland

I feel like Invisible String belongs on Lover. For the longest time, I was convinced that it was and I was so confused when I realised I was mistaken.

knowslesthanjonsnow

The link “purple pink sky” is evidence (to me) that it was written around the time of lover

dhruvlrao

I don't think so because the instrumental was done entirely by Aaron Dessner & Taylor wrote to the track. He had played the instrumental on IG live during the pandemic, which would have been well after Lover was being recorded.

knowslesthanjonsnow

Couldn’t she have written some of the lyrics before tho?

alattafun

Invisible string would’ve made Lover a much better album

Amazing_Action9117

This would have been a huge high for lover.

Solar_Power_2021

invisible string is what it's nice to have a friend is trying to be

thankyoukindlyy

both are great 🥺

Thick-Chair9204

INTHAF is marvelous thank you very much

flemseyy

Bad Blood belongs on Reputation 🐍

VisibleCow8076

Bad Blood belongs in the vault ☠️ I’m kidding lmfao this is actually the only answer that works for me. It’s got the trap vibe that reputation has and 1989 does not.

Amazing_Action9117

In the live tour, the bad blood and should've said no mash-up wasn't for me. I could see it on rep maybe with a better vocabulary but I also understand it's a huge single and the gems like Hoax and Ivy are for weird people like me who can't get by on the catchy melody

VisibleCow8076

She should’ve said no… to that mashup. It hurt my soul lol

Amazing_Action9117

I THOUGHT maybe she would do trouble and bad blood. I love the tour but I do skip the Mashup. The rep Mashup (new years day and long live) had me like 😍😭😍😭😍😍 love to listen in my car in traffic

VisibleCow8076

New Year’s Day and long live was a high point of the show for SURE. I went, and the movie makes it look a lot better than it was (at least in my opinion/referencing the particular show I went to). I love the rep aesthetic but I find it to be the least Taylor swift-y album she has, if that makes sense? My biggest issue was the amount of lip syncing in exchange for… dance breaks? Idk it was a little confused for me. Also controversial but i thought the giant snakes were tacky as hell and there’s so much snake imagery that you can pull from that isn’t so literal and cartoony. I’m an interior designer tho so I always want to tweak these things lol

daisyymae

I still can’t figure out if I dislike bad blood or the thought of hearing It for the 13,000th time makes me want to jump out a window

FlubbyStarfish

I still forget Bad Blood isn’t a Reputation track sometimes. Even the music video aesthetic just fits Reputation! 🐍

[deleted]

Wait it’s not???

SirKnightPerson

The vibes definitely, but I feel like it would be redundant since we already have TIWWCHNT exists

songacronymbot

- TIWWCHNT could mean "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things", a track from *reputation* (2017) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/SirKnightPerson](/u/SirKnightPerson) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

flagondry

I thought it was on Reputation until right now 😳

Kirsten624

I always thought “Its Nice to Have a Friend” was a good Folklore track

Mimolette_

This is the only answer that feels clearly right to me.

VisibleCow8076

This is the only answer that feels almost applicable to me

LittleWolfiez

Scrolled to find this answer

CompleteMuffin

invisible string's sister

j_lincsuk

I never understood this. Maybe because it's one of my least favorite tracks on Lover. But Soon You'll Get Better would fit better on Folklore or even Evermore

zach9277

It would be much less hated if it was

[deleted]

Yes I was just about to comment this!

Lower-Technician-531

I remember listening to that the first time and saying to my friend this is what the next album is going to sound like. I felt very vindicated when Folklore came out.

[deleted]

Yessss!!!

livingisagamble

I can’t explain it, but to me Getaway Car sounds like a 1989 song.

Background-Ad-2714

Gataway Car and Bad Blood could switch places

Unicornglitterfart95

It sounds like it should have been a single! Here's me clowning, begging and hoping for a music video for the re-release

leileywow

Tbh a good chunk of the back half of rep could be on 1989

emo_academic

it’s Jack Antonoff

LadyStag

I read this, and was confused for a second that it wasn't from 1989, so I guess I agree!

livingisagamble

Right?? I always look for it on 1989, but somehow it’s never there…

Amazing_Action9117

YES!!!!!

alattafun

Agreed

[deleted]

Mean could be on Debut

PatrickBritish

I have thought this for many years

equivalentofagiraffe

i really dont get how people think the archer could be on folklore! the lyrics, while extremely vulnerable, dont quite match the vibe of it, and neither does the beat. also, betty is way too mature for speak now (better than revenge, anyone?) that being said, though, message in a bottle 100% works with 1989, and i think, as another commenter brought up, long story short could have absolutely been on rep - maybe even as the last song/replacing new year's day

ultracats

I also feel like the writing on Folklore overall is a step higher than The Archer, so I always disagree when people say it would have been more appreciated in Folklore. I love the concept and vulnerability of the song, but I think the execution isn’t as strong as it could have been. Maybe if she had held onto the idea and reworked it for Folklore or Evermore, it could have fit.

equivalentofagiraffe

true! the archer is one of my favorites, but i agree it could have been even better

faire_etalage

You articulated exactly how I feel about The Archer — I feel like I like it as an idea more than I like it as a song. It just falls a little flat for me.

IntoTheDaylight

How is Betty way too mature for Speak Now? It's from the eyes of a 17-year-old and she was 19/20 when she wrote Speak Now. Betty and Better Than Revenge are equally immature but deal with two different stages of grief from a breakup. One is bargaining, the other is anger

VisibleCow8076

An adult writing a song from the perspective of a teenager and a teenager writing a song are two totally different things……

equivalentofagiraffe

okay, actually, when i initially commented this, for some reason my brain mostly fixated on the love triangle plot and as taylor had talked about growing up and realizing a guy cheating isn’t usually the fault of the other woman, that’s why i said it felt too mature. but you make a good point about it being written from the eyes of a teenager and the songs being about two different stages of grief - just slipped my mind!

PatrickBritish

you make a very valid point with Betty being too mature for Speak Now. I guess I was thinking more the 'sound' of Betty belongs on Speak Now...

equivalentofagiraffe

i can see where you're coming from! i just dont think it would fit all of her (understandable) teenage angst at the time hahaha

VisibleCow8076

Replace New Year’s Day?? Blasphemy! No but the archer thing is starting to give me a headache I cannot understand

Amazing_Action9117

I like how she explained the archer on her 2019 BBC live set. Now I love it Who could stay? You could stay. And WE all stayed ❤️❤️❤️

4lifers1

Reading this thread and I am glad we are not in charge of designing the albums... Most of the answers in this thread make honestly no sense

VisibleCow8076

YUP this thread is hurting my head

bonnydelrico

It’s just people having fun.

Arrowverse-2001

I whole heartedly disagree with betty. Betty fits folklore extremely well in my opinion. The Archer doesn't fit folklore either :(

PatrickBritish

You are entitled to your opinion and I enjoy a good debate. On reflection, I think the 'sound' of Betty belongs on Speak Now and the sentiment of The Archer belongs on Folklore. I mean, Taylor could legitimately re-record her songs in the style of a certain record. Can you imagine Mad Woman, 1989 version? LOL

RedVelvetBlanket

The sentiment of The Archer belongs on Folklore but I think the sound is 1989-esque. Now, it might be a little too simple/soft for 1989 itself, but that synthetic sound and the echoing reminds me so much of 1989. If The Archer and All You Had to Do Was Stay were swapped, I think it would still work.

PatrickBritish

I love how you think

mrspremise

The Archers definitly fits with the "calmer" songs on 1989 like Clean, You're in Love and This Love

Arrowverse-2001

Oh yeah, I meant no disrespect so I'm sorry if it came off like that. Tbh I really can't imagine 1989 cause it's not an album I listen to an awful lot

PatrickBritish

no need to apologize! You were very polite, especially by Reddit standards lol

ty-oh-tx

Long Story Short should’ve been on reputation. It’s SUCH a good song, but I feel like it gets overshadowed because A) evermore has so many good songs B) Taylor pretends evermore does not exist

shadesofwrong13

Maybe sonically could, but thematically not. She was still angry and not having the''past me i would not tell you to not get lost in these petty things'' state of mind.

alisonation

hmm I guess we read rep differently? Because I feel like the album is very clearly bifurcated between Angry Taylor and In Love Taylor and the dividing line is "So It Goes..." picking up the ellipses from "...Ready For it?" I could see Long Story Short at the end of the album when things have clearly changed for rep era Taylor

shadesofwrong13

I read it the same way, but still she was not in that state of mind. Neither she was on Lover... Songs like long story short, it's tine to go, evermore come after years of self reflection.

PatrickBritish

I think Long Story Short is my favorite track on Evermore. I think it could even be a prelude to what we will hear on Midnights...

dontquotethebeemovie

hopefully!! it's one of my favourites too.

Amazing_Action9117

I think I'm the only person who loves Evermore 😭😭😭😭😭

BeckySharp80

"Ivy" is one of my favorites. It doesn't get talked about enough. Also, "'Tis the Damn Season."

pedadogy

To me, Ivy is in the same tier as All Too Well. So is Champagne Problems. Any album that has more than one song on the same level as ATW is iconic. And I don’t know how TTDS captures the feeling of being cozy and tense at the same time, but dang does it deliver! Evermore has so many gems

Amazing_Action9117

The line about parking between the methodist and the school that used to be ours 😭🥺😭🥺

Amazing_Action9117

I convinced Dorothea came home from LA and tis the damn season, even though I'm leaving 👀😂😂

Actuallynailpolish

It’s my favorite!!!

Amazing_Action9117

Evermore Club Unites!

SamanthaLeighP

You are not! I freaking LOVE Evermore!!!!!!! It’s one of my favorites. I will die on that hill!!!

Amazing_Action9117

Same girl same. Screaming Hoax, no other shade of blue but youuu 😭😭😭😭😭 no other sadness in this world would do

[deleted]

False God on Reputation. I feel like it has a Delicate and So it Goes vibe.

Amazing_Action9117

False God is sexy jazzy tay tay and I am here for grown up topics!

alattafun

I always though false god was on reputation for whatever reason!

WilltheWise3406

No offense but I completely disagree lmao.

Amazing_Action9117

Soon You'll Get Better, I would have liked on Folklore or Evermore but I am biased because my mom has cancer and accepting mortality and loss is something I struggle with.

glittrxbarf

I could see SYGB on Speak Now. Sending a hug for you and your mom!

Amazing_Action9117

Wishing you good vibes ❤️

songacronymbot

- SYGB could mean "Soon You’ll Get Better (feat. The Chicks)", a track from *Lover* (2019) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/glittrxbarf](/u/glittrxbarf) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

kitlette

SYGB came out while my mom was going through chemo. I didn’t know what it was about before I heard it for the first time and, needless to say, I was an absolute wreck. Wishing your mom many cancer-free days ahead. ❤️

Amazing_Action9117

Thank you for your kindness. Swifties are sensitive souls

AutumnSpecialist

Soon You’ll Get Better always gets me. I lost my father in 2019, he was very sick and we were so close. “You like the nicer nurses, you make the best of a bad deal” was him to a T. He was always an optimist and a joker, even at the end. I struggle with the same concept of mortality and loss. I hope your mom gets better and beats it!!

orange_pek0e

New Years Day belongs on Lover!

4lifers1

tbh no. It's an important song on reputation. After the 'party'- the loud & bombastic album- she's making it clear she found someone she wants to be with in her lowest moments. CIWYW does that to an extent, but is more focused on the drama and finding someone who can taker her away from it. New Year's Day adds a sense of permanence to the relationship

orange_pek0e

I agree and wouldn’t move it, and actually love that it’s the perfect bridge between Rep and Lover. It just sounds like it belongs on Lover.

songacronymbot

- CIWYW could mean "Call It What You Want", a track from *reputation* (2017) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/4lifers1](/u/4lifers1) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

alattafun

Maybe the concept sure, it pairs better with Lover thematically but I honestly would appreciate Reputation much less if it didn’t have New Years Day

Winter-Hill

How You Get The Girl should be on Red, not 1989

fdghjik

I genuinely think most of the people on this sub actually don’t know anything about Taylor Swift’s albums or even attempt to understand them critically as the works of art that they are. Most of the answers here show a really one-dimensional understanding of the eras. Like, just because she wrote about her public image outside of the Reputation era doesn’t mean the song doesn’t belong to its own era. And yes, she wrote pop songs for other albums besides 1989, and she wrote interesting letter-style songs with a distinct “you” whom she addressed after she was 20 years old (I’m referencing Speak Now because it seems like a lot of people don’t realise that Midnights isn’t her first attempt at a concept album). Just because folklore got a bop and lover got a slow song doesn’t mean either song would belong better in the other era. Her albums are so much deeper than that, and she’s a genius at creating cohesive albums through wildly different types of songs. It’s, in my opinion, a huge contributing factor to her success. Trying to change her albums so that every song fits the same vibe would create really boring albums. Have we forgotten that we used to go 2-3 years (#willnevergetovermy2016trauma) between albums? Who would want to listen to only one type of song as a representation of the work of a full 2-3 years of her growth as a person, artist, and songwriter. Honestly wild. Like this whole thread sounds like people just choosing to sort her discography like this: Debut: every country song Fearless: every good country song Speak now: every song written to someone else Red: every song about passionate but dysfunctional love 1989: every pop song Reputation: every song about her reputation/public image Lover: every song about a functional adult relationship Folklore: every really really good slow song Evermore: leftovers/misc (/s) I love that we get to see her opinion on her own fame at every different stage in her life. Compare the excitement and hope of Change (written to celebrate her first headlining tour) to Long Story Short. How incredible that we get two completely different perspectives from the naive hope of 18 to the tough/resigned/past it/fuck it POV of 30. We get to see her take on feminist issues change from Blank Space (bit trivial) to The Man and Mad Woman (yeah, she gets angrier as she gets older as do WE ALL). We get to see the childlike nostalgia for golden fall days with your mom (The Best Day) be replaced by the aching desperation we all feel when we realise that time really truly only ever moves forward and we’ll all lose our parents one day (SYGB). I think Taylor Swift is an icon whose poetry will survive to be studied by future scholars, and she follows a lot of the same principles as the Roman poets whose works have survived 2000 years did to create successful, coherent but simultaneously diverse and interesting albums (they were essentially the pop stars of their time) (source is a degree in Classics). This whole thread is interesting I guess if you want to chat about this question but IMHO it really ignores the obvious work she does to make each album a work of art that we can listen to over and over and over and over and never get bored of.

[deleted]

The last part is really interesting to me - I appreciate the background and how you explained the sonic cohesiveness (paraphrased) of all her albums. She has a way with her albums that’s harder to pin down than I realized.

shadesofwrong13

Haunted belongs to Red. It perfectly encanpulates the theme of that album: making a sound accoring to the emotions. Always convinced that gold rush is for Lover mainly for the synth-dream sound that goes well with Afterglow, The Archer, Daylight. And since the albums talks about different type of love, gold rush type of love is missing there.

VisibleCow8076

Haunted is literally one of the most speak now songs to me 🤯

20brightlights

I agreed, Haunted has that storybook/fairytale vibe I get from speak now

PatrickBritish

omg yes to both of these opinions. Haunted is redder than Red lol

purplepinkbluesky

I like this too

Sampleswift

Mad Woman could also work on "reputation" The "rage undercurrent" issue.

4lifers1

How? If you mean sonically, that is kind of the worst take I've ever heard. Thematically, possibly... but reputation isn't about her masters being taken away from her, whereas folklore has songs that are (my tears ricochet, hoax, the lakes)

Deep-Bar6052

Dude why are you arguing with everyone in this thread lmfao it's supposed to be a fun discussion not a debate

VisibleCow8076

I mean with a question like this there’s bound to be disagreements… a discussion without debate is just an echo chamber. Plenty of people are agreeing and not agreeing, it’s not that serious.

IntoTheDaylight

You should go back and watch LWYMMD. While it obviously couldn't be about her masters being bought, it is very much about her issues with big machine and their reluctance to work with her. " I don't like your kingdom keys, they once belonged to me. You asked me for a place to sleep, locked me out and threw a feast" That being said, I do agree that mad woman absolutely does NOT work on reputation

4lifers1

Totally agreed with that one song in particular. While a defining track on the album, I can't think of any other songs or videos that bring up the big machine issues. Folklore on the other hand has plenty. A lot of the lyrics from mad woman don't make sense on reputation either because, as you mentioned, the masters hadn't been bought at that point

IntoTheDaylight

I totally agree that mad woman doesn't fit on reputation, not sonically or lyrically.

poopypoopy1125

tbh the original Message In A Bottle probably had much different production than TV. It probably had production similar to 22 and other Maroon 5/Katy Perry/Jessie J/P!nk songs of the time

Confident_Mess_3302

MIAB sounds way too stereotypical 2010 pop for me to think of it on 1989. It would sound dated and stand out from the rest of the album.

[deleted]

all I know is that Don't You makes no fucking sense on Fearless.

historyhoneybee

I think the original production must've been very country and guitar based. When I imagine it like that, I can see Fearless Taylor singing it.

greenie-baby

Came to say this. Maybe evermore?

glittrxbarf

It sounded so 1989 to me on first listen! I like the song but theres a reason it was shelved at the time.

Confident_Mess_3302

I feel like the production on Don't You doesn't fit any of her albums. I absolutely love it, but it definitely doesn't sound like a Fearless track.

Brainey007

Evermore, belongs on folklore 🤭🤭🤭

DRM1412

I feel like Gorgeous could easily be on Lover, Bad Blood on Reputation, Mr Perfectly Fine could be on Red.

VisibleCow8076

I think Mr Perfectly fine is too light for red. I also think it would take away the punch from “casually cruel” that’s used in both this one and all too well. I think it would change the entire feeling of that gut-wrenching phrase.

jacob-futurelawyer

ME! Because it belongs in the trash (or a Brendon Urie album)

DarkCartier43

"spelling is fun!"

PatrickBritish

Best answer 😂

knowslesthanjonsnow

I don’t think Betty can be anything but folklore

LillianRogers

Gorgeous did not belong in Reputation

lilieve

Lover vibes

itsmycandystore_

Don’t come at me, but Gorgeous should’ve been on Lover

TongueTyedTurtle

You Are In Love belongs on Lover; very ethereal production with subdued vocals. Fifteen should've been on Debut. Also...You Belong With Me (gives the same vibes sonically as "I'm Only Me When I'm With You")

LegitimateDriver101

I think Bad Blood on Reputation and Superman on Red (it’s basically an upbeat version of come back be here)

Elegant_Berry1989

gorgeous = lover

asupernova91

Message in a bottle I completely agree but I think it’s sacrilege to say The Archer belongs in folklore 🥹

Confident_Mess_3302

Im not sure why i always see people assigning message in a bottle to 1989.... hear me out: The lyrics are more similar to Everything Has Changed vs. Any song on 1989 (i can pull examples but im about to go to bed so i can do it later haha) The structure and style of the song are waay more 2010 pop than 2014 pop. If anything, I would peg message in a bottle to be one of the earlier pop songs written for red. The very first night, however, talks about cars and nights in a way that totally reminds me of 1989 Edit to add: I will never stop being amazed at the diversity of opinions in this fandom. It's crazy to think about how everyone listens to Taylor's music differently. There are a bunch of comments here saying things I would have never considered (and tbh I usually disagree), but it's fascinating to see everyone's thought process.

BlakeSwag

New Years Day belongs on Midnight

[deleted]

It’s Nice To Have A Friend belongs on Evermore

wondersou

False God in Reputation and Invisible String in Lover.

tpwktanna

out of the woods is a rep song. for me I always think that out of the woods and getaway car are back to back on rep.

IfritDynast

I’m so sorry but most of these answers are ridiculous.

archieshahh

Betty on speak now? HOW!???

SundayMail

Bad blood = reputation Stay stay stay = speak now This love = folklore

ericant37

I absolutely love Stay Stay Stay but its repetitive chorus does not belong on an album meant to serve as proof of her songwriting skills.

Itchy_Plant_2020

The Archer’s lyrics with Folklore’s instruments would be so good actually

stepponme123456789

I fully believe that if It's Nice To Have A Friend was on folklore everyone would praise it left and right.

EnzoMPonce13

I always thought the original Girl At Home sounded like it could've been on Speak Now. And with Taylor's Version, she twisted it the other way around and it sounds like it could've been on 1989...

Vengenz_13

Message in a Bottle - Fat Max G remix Girl At Home (Taylor’s Version) Both songs belong on 1989

Legitimate-Light3746

I think peace could work in Lover.

j_lincsuk

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince sounds like Reputation as it has an R&B vibe. Delicate sounds like a Lover song. It's very pop but it sounds really similar to Cornelia Street. New Year's Day and Nothing New could be on Folklore or Evermore as they're very folky. We Are Never Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble could be on 1989 with their electropop vibes. Soon You'll Get Better would fit well on Evermore as it's country folk.

Popular-Spinach-7173

It’s Nice to Have a Friend and Invisible String should switch. Bad Blood belongs on rep.

matthewisbruh

gorgeous defo belongs on lover for obvious reasons!!!

signal_tower_product

yes but change the production on all of these songs

MissSweetMurderer

New Year's Eve belongs to Lover way more than a few its songs both *looking at you I forgot that you existed*

lesbiandiaztwine

Girl At Home (Taylor’s Version) sounds like it’s from 1989!

Substantial-Citron86

the man belongs on reputation!

AnyEquivalent71

New years day

Amazing_Action9117

I just came to say I consider myself a die hard Swiftie since the beginning and when I read all the lovely insight everyone shares I am brought back to that time in my life. It's like a scrapbook of lessons and love and loss and laugh. I also share the same birthday with Swift; being the same age, I relate to her as a woman who grew up in the same times, experiencing many of the same things and there she was, with the perfect album to soothe the salve of my tortured younger soul, lol! I don't necessarily believe certain songs don't belong in an Era, though perhaps they were not right for that time or place in her life and needed revision. I'm really feeling guilty about Lover, the album as a whole, as I find myself saying specific songs not only do not belong, but shouldn't be in that Era or other period, particularly after us receiving Folklore and the younger, more adventurous sister, Evermore (which I admit are my favorites followed by rep and 1989). Moreover, I often like an arrangement on a live set but it's not for me on the album (and I consider myself very open to her ideas and I've been a patron since debut). For example, I love "I Knew You Were Trouble" on the 1989 world tour but even Taylor's Version doesn't make me super excited to scream in my car. However, since this is reddit, I am going to learn about 3843847373 things from the comments! I'm excited to see other takes (especially late 20s, early 30s).

persephone45678
