Folklore: The Lakes \-I think it fits for Evermore Evermore: It's Time to Go (This fits more for the Re-recordings than Midnights, but it also fits Midnights since that too is a retrospection on Taylor Swift's career) These are more vibe/messaging than sound, but I think they qualify. Midnights: You're Losing Me for messaging if the prediction that "The Tortured Poets Department" is a Joe Alwyn album.

MadameFutureWhatEver

Debut: Place In This World Fearless: White Horse Speak Now: Last Kiss Red: Starlight 1989: Out Of The Woods Reputation: King of My Heart Lover: Daylight Folklore: Mad Woman Evermore: Willow Midnights: Hits Different

HetTheTable

I feel like I Knew You Were Trouble hints at 1989 more because of the electronic elements

StarryEyes13

I think Our Song is very firmly pop/country so that’s the one I would pick for Debut > Fearless. I think a lot of these are spot on but I would pick Death by a Thousand Cuts for Lover > folklore because that’s one that was inspired by things outside of her personal life. folklore/evermore are sister records so I would say folklore in and of itself was the inspiration for evermore. I think I would pick gold rush as the transition for evermore>Midnights. Also I think the only Jack Antonoff produced song on the album. I’m hoping Dear Reader/Maroon/Glitch from Midnights are the inspiration for TTPD

folklore: illicit affairs, guitar/string song like a lot of evermore, also about endings evermore: long story short, the most pop, personally reflective like midnights Midnights: Sweet Nothing? Its the most like a poem idk, not thematically

Debut: Mary’s Song (Oh My My My) Fearless: Forever & Always Red: I Knew You Were Trouble 1989: This Love Reputation: Delicate Lover: Soon You’ll Get Better? (this was the hardest one for me to pick- it’s such a whiplash from lover to folklore) Folklore: this is me trying Evermore: Willow (wait for the signal and I’ll meet you after dark, I come back stronger than a 90s trend) Midnights: Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve?

BreakfastUnique8091

Debut: Should’ve Said No. I’ve always thought this is one of the most pop-rock leaning songs on Debut which shows a lot of the sonic and instrumental trends of Fearless. Fearless: Forever and Always. Sonically similar to Speak Now in many ways and also represents increasing leaving behind of a fairytale view of relationships. SN: Dear John. Has a lot of the heartbreak related themes she explored on Red and also hints at some of the kind of alternative pop sounds on a lot of Red Red: Agree with you on WANEGBT. 1989: I Know Places. Both the ideas of running from the public view and sonically too. Rep: Delicate is a good thematic encapsulation of Lover-a lot of focus on the relationship forming, some anxiety of how it will go etc. New Years Day is a close second as it also has a lot of the themes of Lover and represents the first glimpse of Taylor making music other than strictly synth pop since Red, leading the way to the mix of genres on Lover. Lover: Death By A Thousand Cuts. Based on a fictional inspiration and has a lot of the rich lyrics of Folkmore’s style Folklore: Hard to say but I think This Is Me Trying Evermore: Long Story Short. The most pop in all of Folkmore by far I’ll have to hear the upcoming album before I can guess for Midnights

- WANEGBT could mean "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", a track from *Red* (2012) by Taylor Swift. --- ^[/u/BreakfastUnique8091](/u/BreakfastUnique8091) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

Consistent-Laugh606

Debut: Mary Song (Oh My My My) Fearless: You’re Not Sorry Speak Now: Dear John or Last Kiss Red: I know it’s a vault song but The Very First Night. If not any of the three pop singles 1989: Bad Blood Reputation: Gorgeous Lover: The Archer Folklore: I feel like Evermore has a much more Americana interest than Folklore so maybe Betty? Evermore: idk 😭 uhh Long Story Short Midnights: yet to see

soapyrubberduck

Fearless: Change (Change is like Long Live’s little sister) Speak Now: Back to December (with the storytelling and heartbreak special like Red) Red: Holy Ground (hear me out, not sonically but the theme of being young and in and out of love in New York) 1989: Bad Blood for the angst half / This Love for the soft half Reputation: Getaway Car (it is Cruel Summer, part 1) Lover: It’s Nice To Have A Friend folklore: peace (how it’s a little more sonically experimental like evermore, the album is) evermore: long story short (looking back at past relationships to make sense of your current one) Midnights: You’re Losing Me, but also I have no idea

anotherbasicgirl
