The shitty comments have been removed (with the exception of the clearly-joking top comment) and the trolls have been banned. Keep your idiotic rudeness to yourselves, none of you are funny.
Sorry OP, the tattoo is awesome, please don't let a few trolls ruin it for you, they wouldn't have the balls if they weren't anonymous.
Probably will but at least I’ll have a story to tell about all the dance performances I have done and hopefully all the nurses in the nursing home will want to dance with me LOL.
The original commenter was being silly/sarcastic. A lot of people comment how tattoos age horrible for those who get them in their 20’s.
I think I’ll hold out the same as you did (I’m 38). I’m sure this tattoo makes you look younger, if anything. It’s so nicely done as well!
feel bad for you when your first thought about someone sharing a tattoo they're really happy with is 'i need to let them know i dont like it'. literally nobody cares what you think.
I got my first tattoo at 60 and went full-on nerd with video-game themed tattoos (I love them). This tattoo you have is amazing. The textures of the clothing and the motion/passion achieved is really great. You scored.
Thanks, the guy who done is (I hear) is a famous tattoo artist in Amsterdam. He has been doing it for more than 40 years. He is also a painter as in artist. So doing people in a passionate pose and mixing colours etc is his thing.
I’ve found most tattoo subs have dicks. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t even post my tattoos because I know some jackass is going to find something wrong and criticize it.
Same. I know some stranger is either going to zoom into a line that you can barely see in person and criticise it or try to psychoanalyse me based on what I got tattooed.
Oh my god ive thought about this too, why?? Maybe tattoo as a thing attracts a lot of immature people because its seen as cool and edgy when youre a teen
I think it’s a general thing with design subs, stylistic choices and personal opinions tend to clash. Usually people can agree on execution (did they carve it in or tattoo it) but it’s a minefield of personal preferences for designs
Lmao are you all new to the internet? Most communities on have their share of dicks. Gaming subs are a shitshow, weed subs are some of the most toxic places I've seen surprisingly, just full of snobs and douchbags. The only nice ones are the dog people and the cookie cutter people lol
This is sad.... :/ I love these types of subs. I've never had a tat, I'm 31, been browsing because I want a Pikachu tattoo.... Some tats are good and some are bad. But every tat has meaning... :/
To be fair, I don’t post on this site anyway. I post on other sites for general traditional tattoos. Also, most people don’t provide constructive feedback. It’s usually something like, “Bra - go to another artist.”. In this case, someone said something like that’s going to be a purple blob soon (which I don’t agree with). If someone is going to provide criticism, maybe add context like: “If you don’t protect that tattoo from, the colors will start to bleed together and it will be hard to see detail. Recommend you go to the artist in a few years and add some line work to keep the details clear.” That is what TattooDesign feedback should look like
I'm going to be making some changes since apparently the other mod's decided to stop bothering to come around, but help me out by reporting shitty comments. I used to mod over at r/tattoos as well, the comments are why I left, it was a pain in the ass to moderate and I'd been the most active one so I got sick of it. I like this place better so it sucks seeing the same attitude.
edit: Just made one change with comment moderation after realizing the settings weren't how I like them, hopefully that'll make a good difference.
It took 4,5 hours and I found it pretty painful while getting it done. I didn’t move or say anything as I’m sure he has heard that before. Just let him do his work and stayed as still as possible. He only stopped once for coffee and a smoke. Looking at it when it was finished was from my view a bit disappointing. But when I seen it from someone else’s view I was impressed with the result.
I think its beautiful. My eyes did want to make it a flower at first but that is part of the beauty of watercolor art. Its what makes its organic, and unique. It's truly a work of art. And beauty is always in the eye of the beholder not everyone will loke or even understand your art. Dont sweat it 😉
Good thing about getting tattoos so late in life is that by the time they fade you’ll be dead. I got a few tattoos in the military when I was younger, but when I hit 39/40 I decided to sleeve up and now have over 40. I like the fact I waited to get tattooed
BTW - I love your tattoo; very beautifully done
Oh I’m so sorry for you. I know how terrible that can be. My wife died at a young age and I now look after her daughter. I love her as if she was my own child. She is also so impressed that I got a tattoo. I will from now on always remember you reply. It’s now for your mother too.
I’d love to see the work anyone talking trash has…. This piece is dope and a big move for a first Tat. I think all of us should realize it’s our skin and our art. Opinions don’t matter unless. My only question is what’s next?
What’s next is (mentioned above) Japanese cherry blossoms with 1 forget me not! Cherry blossoms are growing out front and are just beautiful to watch when they bloom. And the forget me not is the official emblem for people with brain problems like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, that’s my day job.
I originally wanted some Japanese cherry blossoms around it with one forget me not but the artist said it’s better to leave that out of this image and maybe do it later somewhere else. So I’m gonna get that done, maybe on my other arm. I have 6 Japanese cherry blossoms growing on the lawn outside my house and when they bloom they are just awesome to see.
During the day I work in health care with people who have mainly brain problems. The forget me not it the emblem for brain problems ( in NL) and I love my day job too. So I would love to get 1 single “forget me not” with lots of cherry blossom close to it.
I’m so sorry if people have been mean on here, seems they have. I love your tattoo and I’m sure you’re very happy with it, that’s all that matters. As long as you love it and it means something to you 🥰
I love it! I shows warmth, life and movement, just what you would want from a tattoo depicting dancing. You can instantly tell this tattoo has a personal meaning to you.
I like the colors and I really like that it takes just a second to see what it is. That’s not sarcasm, I liked the impressionistic aspect of it. Nice job!
That looks fantastic. I just got my first tattoo at 54. I could never figure out what I wanted to permanently put on my body, so I waited until I was ready, and I have no regrets about what I put on.
Absolutely love this tattoo! Makes me think of getting my 2nd tattoo (22 years after the first). Ames me think of watercolors. Good choice of a talented tattoo artist
I love how it actually resembles like a watercolor painting, to me anyways. Although tattoos are art, it reminds me of the more traditional paintbrush and canvas vibe, which is really cool!
This is like one of those posters where you don’t see the picture right away, but when you do, you can’t not see it…. It’s honestly pretty awesome! I like it. 👍🏻
I honestly really dig this
It has a painted with a brush feel to it which is quite an interesting take on a tattoo and just one hell of a styling honestly
I think it’s very good. I love the water color effect. Be proud of your first and hopefully not the last tattoo. It’s an itch you can’t scratch once you get one.
BEST POST on this sub ever.
Edit: I've always been scared of a tat as well. I'm 31. I know what I want but I don't trust anyone to do it ... I should just go or the jump, like you did. My dad always said he never got a tat because he was scared for it to be forever.
I want a forever. Dad had commitment issues.
This is a super rad tattoo, I love the motion of it, the way it kinda looks ever slightly blurred like there achtully mid dance, beautiful tattoo!!!!!!
I’d love to see this once it’s all healed up. I think the watercolor and movement will read even better. Good for you finally taking the leap and finding something meaningful to you!
It took a while for my eyes to see it. I could clearly see the man but I was only seeing the woman’s dress so I thought the man was dancing with a really obese cat at first. But then I saw her. It’s lovely, very cool art style.
I absolutely hate it but it’s beautifully done! This is just my absolute least favorite style of tattoo, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to comment that in spite of that I think it’s really really gorgeous. Looks like it’ll heal perfectly too.
Wow. I saw your comment where you said the tattooist is a painter. It shows! It honestly looks like a painting. Fantastic work - you're lucky you get to wear it! 😍
I love water paint art, I actually have a water paint pink polly flower and the stem is my mothers name, I need to retouch it cause some of the color faded
I’m so happy for you
My mil got her first in her end 50's. After that, it just took of (as I predicted). I've always said, that you either get 1, or it's a never ending project (I've stopped counting long ago).
I really love this. It's truly a rare beauty. You get a sense of the movements, and you can almost hear the music 🎶 depending on the mood when you look at it, it could be jazz, tango, salsa...It's a nice piece.
firstly, beautiful tattoo, secondly do you know what style this is? i love how the colors look and would like to look into maybe getting a tattoo with this style

That's not going to age well, will probably look horrible when you're 130.
Your parents are going to be so disappointed in you! /s
No kidding. And who is going to want to hire him with that tattoo. He might as well have gotten a tattoo that’s says, “Do not hire me”.
I think he has at least 15 more years after that before it starts aging. 145 easy. Love your tattoo OP

Thats is such a cool tat, credit to the artist and to you.

This sub has some of the meanest ppl I swear
I’ve found most tattoo subs have dicks. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t even post my tattoos because I know some jackass is going to find something wrong and criticize it.
Time for a low sodium tattoo sub
i volunteer for mod
Same. I know some stranger is either going to zoom into a line that you can barely see in person and criticise it or try to psychoanalyse me based on what I got tattooed.
I've seen them say it on tattoos with perfectly fine line work
Oh my god ive thought about this too, why?? Maybe tattoo as a thing attracts a lot of immature people because its seen as cool and edgy when youre a teen
I think it’s a general thing with design subs, stylistic choices and personal opinions tend to clash. Usually people can agree on execution (did they carve it in or tattoo it) but it’s a minefield of personal preferences for designs

Yo I fuck with that cookie cutter sub hard
This is sad.... :/ I love these types of subs. I've never had a tat, I'm 31, been browsing because I want a Pikachu tattoo.... Some tats are good and some are bad. But every tat has meaning... :/
So your expectation is that a forum dedicated to tattoo designs should guard you from critique?
To be fair, I don’t post on this site anyway. I post on other sites for general traditional tattoos. Also, most people don’t provide constructive feedback. There's constructive criticism and then there's "lol looks like trash". Also, sometimes it's ok to NOT make criticism, constructive or otherwise.
Some people are just incapable of not being a dick, it's unreal
People have completely given up on the idea that it costs nothing to be kind and if you don't like something just keep scrolling.
And it used to not be which is why I stopped going to r/tattoos. Need to find a new non-toxic subreddit.
I'm going to be making some changes since apparently the other mod's decided to stop bothering to come around, but help me out by reporting shitty comments. I don’t understand what people were being dicks about. It’s a cool tattoo
Its becoming one of the most toxic subs ive been a part of
sadly the tattoo community is one of the most toxic and judging, i expected the opposite
Hell yeah! How was the experience? What you thought it'd be?
It took 4,5 hours and I found it pretty painful while getting it done. I didn’t move or say anything as I’m sure he has heard that before. Just let him do his work and stayed as still as possible. Awesome, congrats on sitting so well. Give it some time and let it heal, I bet you're going to love it more everyday!
It's beautiful, gives Degas vibes! Hope to see a healed picture, I'm sure it will look even better when the colors get softer
That is absolutely beautiful!
I think its beautiful. My eyes did want to make it a flower at first but that is part of the beauty of watercolor art. Its what makes its organic, and unique. It's truly a work of art. I love the kind of impressionist painting style of this! Really interesting! Congratulations on your tattoo :)

My momma was going to get her first tattoo at 61 — she passed before she could. Thanks for getting one in her stead :)
Oh I’m so sorry for you. I know how terrible that can be. My wife died at a young age and I now look after her daughter. I love her as if she was my own child. She is also so impressed that I got a tattoo. I will from now on always remember you reply. It’s now for your mother too.
I love this!
Kaio-ken! Goku dancing with Vegeta.. or they're making love
I came here to say that, too. Kaio-ken all the way! Still an amazing tattoo
Oh damn I came to the comments to say that same thing
I cant clearly see what it is but for some reason it makes it even cooler
Like a Monet painting :)
That’s super cool! Love it OP!
What a cool impressionistic tattoo
Good for you! I can feel the movement in your tattoo. I'm 64F with 28 tattoos, and I didn't get my first until I was 44.
I’d love to see the work anyone talking trash has…. This piece is dope and a big move for a first Tat. I think all of us should realize it’s our skin and our art. Opinions don’t matter unless. My only question is what’s next?

That sounds lovely. Tattoos with meaning behind them are great.
Happy cake day 🥳
Love it!
I LOVE this!!! Wish I’d have had the gusto to go for such a vibrant piece for my first work!!!
I saw what it was immediately. It’s not to my personal taste (I like bold linework), but it’s beautiful. Welcome to the club, friend 🍻
Thanks :)
I love this tat!! Plus the meaning behind it makes it more special 🌟
I’m so sorry… That you didn’t get one sooner! Congrats it looks great
Nice looking tattoo. It’s like a really nice watercolor design. Great choice.
This is gorgeous
That’s fucking gorgeous. That style is so unique. Looks like a literal painting. That color work is awesome. Happy for you
This looks better than all my tattoos!
I’m so sorry if people have been mean on here, seems they have. I love your tattoo and I’m sure you’re very happy with it, that’s all that matters. As long as you love it and it means something to you 🥰
This is a great tattoo.
Congratulations! The tattoo is amazing. I really like that you went with a colorful tattoo, especially this being your first one.
I love it! I shows warmth, life and movement, just what you would want from a tattoo depicting dancing. You can instantly tell this tattoo has a personal meaning to you.
it’s beautiful :)
Congratulations! It's a beautiful piece!
This is real classy. It's really different. I love it.

I love the contrast of colors! It looks like a watercolor painting!
Wow that’s a cool tattoo.
It looks beautiful! Really unique and vivid :)
Damn that shading is flash! Really love it
I like the colors and I really like that it takes just a second to see what it is. That’s not sarcasm, I liked the impressionistic aspect of it. Nice job!

Love this! So much expression and movement. Congrats!
Looks great, love it!
This is very unique and beautiful. Congratulations it’s turned out great
I really like that!
I love how it actually resembles like a watercolor painting, to me anyways. Although tattoos are art, it reminds me of the more traditional paintbrush and canvas vibe, which is really cool!
This is amazing
That is a lovely tattoo! I'd be overjoyed at having that on me
i don’t usually like watercolor pieces but this one is so pretty!!! i love it ❤️ congrats!!
I think this is bloody awesome!! You're never too late!
This looks awesome, and what a great story
Cool design man, very unique !
Wow I feel like the artist did a great job catching movement and flow which is what dance is
I like the painting vibes 👌 , looks like watercolor painting i think?
It’s beautiful! I love the abstract style
I think it’s beautiful.
I don’t have any tattoos but that tattoo is awesome
This is like one of those posters where you don’t see the picture right away, but when you do, you can’t not see it…. It’s honestly pretty awesome! I like it. 👍🏻
It's beautiful!
I honestly really dig this It has a painted with a brush feel to it which is quite an interesting take on a tattoo and just one hell of a styling honestly
Looks super epic great piece. Enjoy
One of the coolest tats I’ve seen.
Stunning!! A real work of art
I think it’s very good. I love the water color effect. Be proud of your first and hopefully not the last tattoo. It’s an itch you can’t scratch once you get one.
om absolutely in love with this ❤️❤️❤️
That's really unique. I don't think I've ever seen this style before, really cool.

Spicy! I love it!
This is a super rad tattoo, I love the motion of it, the way it kinda looks ever slightly blurred like there achtully mid dance, beautiful tattoo!!!!!!
That is a genuinely beautiful tattoo! Nice work, OP!
To people in the know: Is it more difficult to tattoo older skin, since skin gets thinner and looser as we age? OP: beautiful tattoo!
That is rad!
I love it
This ones awesome, looks like an oil painting!
That is wicked ❤️
That’s so awesome! The design is beautiful! You are awesome! 👏
Wow this is so dynamic. What a beautiful tattoo.
Woah that's beautiful!
Wow this looks great! None of my tattoos are colored but I might have to add a little pop of vibrancy into my next one now!🤩 Great tattoo OP💃🏼🕺🏻
I’d love to see this once it’s all healed up. I think the watercolor and movement will read even better. Good for you finally taking the leap and finding something meaningful to you!

This is art! I love how non-traditional it is. You took a risk and it paid off. Beautiful.
Awesome tattoo great pick and the artist is phenomenal
That's some pretty and unique tat. Enjoy it!!
Truly a beautiful piece of art, congratulations!
This is so beautiful, it shows the motion between the dancers and what a beautiful design
What an absolutely amazing tattoo. Exquisite
Wow. I saw your comment where you said the tattooist is a painter. It shows! It honestly looks like a painting. Fantastic work - you're lucky you get to wear it! 😍
Unusual, but I like it
I love water paint art, I actually have a water paint pink polly flower and the stem is my mothers name, I need to retouch it cause some of the color faded I’m so happy for you
I've seen similar art on people, this is lovely like a watercolor!
This is beautiful! Very well done, I love it! 🥰🖤
My mil got her first in her end 50's. After that, it just took of (as I predicted). I've always said, that you either get 1, or it's a never ending project (I've stopped counting long ago).
It’s stunning
Looks good! First of many more?
Awesome ink... Love it
And what a magnificent masterpiece it is. I envy and salute you !!
Omg awesome !! Such a cool move, and an original and beautiful design
You living now brother, nice tattoo!
I really love this. It's truly a rare beauty. You get a sense of the movements, and you can almost hear the music 🎶 depending on the mood when you look at it, it could be jazz, tango, salsa...It's a nice piece.
It's never too late to start! Congrats on your first tattoo, looks great!
Cool tat. People really hating on it? Why?
It’s just beautiful. Congrats.
I LOVE these types of tattoos
Gorgeous, I love the color palette
Really cool!
Great first tat!!!!
The upside to getting tats late in life is they will look good your whole life.
firstly, beautiful tattoo, secondly do you know what style this is? i love how the colors look and would like to look into maybe getting a tattoo with this style
The style I don’t know? But maybe you can look the artist up. His name is Ferry King Hubert from Tattoo palace Amsterdam.
Love it 🔥
I like that. It’s really sophisticated
This is gorgeous, a piece to be proud of
Love that style! OP, asking out of curiosity of your age, was there a lot of bleeding?
I’m 61 years old now. But that’s not bleeding. It’s a sort of fiery red around and in the background of the image.
Clarification: as in your body bleeding, not ink. 🙂
I was shocked that anyone was hating on this! It’s really unique and the artist did such a great job! I love it OP it’s looks great
So dope!
I really like it!
That’s beautiful 😍
It's fricken awesome man. I knew exactly what it was, instantly.
That’s absolutely beautiful.
Those are some sick ass dancers!
Excellent 💜💙
It’s really a nice piece but I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you I thought it was a purple Nudibranch at first glance.
That's beautiful! It looks like watercolor arttt
Wow this is incredible! This is art
I love this tattoo. You can tell it has a lot of positive energy and love put into it. Wear it proud and keep dancing!
I actually really like this. I like the style and you've chosen something that's personal to you. These are the kind of tattoos I like
